We Need To Face The Uncomfortable Reality.

This blog has for the past three years been pleading with SNP leadership and Nicola Sturgeon in particular for unity. Along the way we have offered what we believed to be some viable suggestions on how that could be achieved. One example was suggesting that in the December 2019 UK General Election she should have deemed it an independence Plebiscite Election. She, of course, did no such thing. She campaigned right up until the polls closed at 10 pm on 12th December on Scotland not being dragged out of the EU against its will and an Independence Referendum in 2020. We now know she was lying and that just over a month later, on January 31st 2020, we were told we were in fact being dragged out of the EU against our will and that there would not be an independence Referendum in 2020. (Before any apologist says anything a clear two months before the pandemic was called!)

Last year at the Holyrood Elections we were once more pleading for unity. We were also being promised an independence Referendum. We believed the Alba offer of vote SNP in the constituency and vote Alba in the List was the best tactic possible to move the case for independence forward. A super majority beckoned. The ISP, Solidarity, AFI all agreed and stood down their candidates for Holyrood, They behaved like true patriots and stepped aside for the common weal.

Sadly, Sturgeon declined to unify with any another independence party and instead chose to enable 34 Unionist MSPs with her both votes SNP strategy. She once again put her own interests ahead of Scotland’s best interests. She preferred wasting over 1,000,000 SNP votes rather than advance the cause of Scottish independence. Personal spite and vindictiveness trumped Scotland’s desperate need for unity and independence.

At that particular election she touted the possibility of working with the British Labour Party but she said that under no circumstances could she ever work with the Alba Party. She chose the BBC to deliver this betrayal of the YES Movement. The main mouthpiece of the English Imperial Parliament was her vehicle to betray a winning formula for independence. That was just rubbing salt into the wounds of the YES Movement. Another independence opportunity allowed to go, was it stupidity or on purpose is the only question.

Nothing Sturgeon or the SNP has done since May last year has moved our cause an inch forward. Indeed, she has taken certain actions that suggest she is more inclined to keeping Scotland inside the Union than plotting a course for our independence.

In a recent television interview with an English broadcaster, she embraced being British! An admission that horrified thousands of devoted independence supporters. Recently she has been seen to be working more for the interests of the Union than getting us out of it!

She has even called for a 4 Nations approach to Scotland’s oil and gas reserves. She abided strictly by the 4 nations covid slaughter policy. She attacked anyone that suggested Scotland should plot its own covid course and consider closing the border, airports, rail stations. She has always fallen into line with whatever London decides. She is of course, sleekit enough to wait a week or so before capitulation to the English position. She is, if nothing else smart enough to keep up the pretence of making her own covid decisions. The reality is all measures were decided in London ,she just presented better than Johnson. Believe me when the law suits begin and the blame game begins Sturgeon will have her plausible deniability at hand and those that she will throw under the bus. Those of you that think she would never betray you only need to remember what she attempted with Alex Salmond.

She has allowed her MPs to openly back British Foreign policy. Stewart McDonald who before becoming an MP was a tour rep in Tenerife alongside Alyn Smith a lawyer of no note suddenly took themselves off to Ukraine. There they projected themselves as foreign affairs experts. It was cringeworthy to watch as two alleged independence supporting Scottish MPs promoted British Foreign policy on Ukranian and English TV stations. Sitting behind a Union flag, he of the broken eyebrow could just as easily have been an English Tory MP from an English constituency such was his slavish devotion to the UK position on the Ukrainian Russian dispute. Nicola, never mind trying to get Alex off of RTV keep these two clowns off of all TV screens, they are an embarrassment.

Meanwhile, at Westminster Ian Blackford was aligning himself, his party and our nation with the same bombastic sabre rattling nonsense of all the other Brits! Has nobody told these clowns their job is to destroy the British Union, not prop it up, defend it or promote its foreign policy?

We have witnessed since May 2015 numerous opportunities for our independence being ignored. We have watched as Sturgeon tried to have her previous mentor falsely imprisoned. We watched as she lied, denied and deluded at the Fabiani Inquiry. We have seen her decline to unify the Movement. We have watched as the SNP NEC and ordinary members of the SNP have had their party democracy removed. We have witnessed Conference decisions either being ignored or overruled.

We see that an SNP spad who was thrown out of Westminster for advocating gun violence against women gain approval to be an SNP Council candidate. Another SNP male that openly boasts about using women’s toilets knowing he is causing alarm to females has also been approved as a candidate.

We have watched as a brilliant and talented MP, Joanna Cherry has been hounded, bullied and abused by people who will stand for the SNP in May.Throughout the attacks on Joanna, not once has Sturgeon intervened or condemned the bullying and abuse, indeed her silent approval has emboldened the bullies.

We have witnessed as MPs like the member for Perth and North Perthshire has attacked and abused independence supporters, his own constituents and anyone that dared to disagree either with him or his party leader. He has attacked his former leader and the person who gave him his career and access to the now famous pension. He has often decried Alex Salmond and yet just like Sturgeon when it suited him he was as big a sycophant to Alex as he is now to Sturgeon.Yet again Sturgeon has remained silent as this one man low intelligence wrecking ball wreaks havoc wherever he goes.Even many of his colleagues at Westminster give him a wide berth. Yet Sturgeon takes no action against him. Not because he is talented, he is the exact opposite. However he is loyal to Nicola and attacks her detractors. Loyalty and knowing your pronouns wins over talent in today’s SNP.

All that is left is a bag load of chancers and carpetbaggers. ( with a few notable exceptions)They are as much use to Scotland as the Tories and in some respects even more dangerous to our nation.

In fairness to the Tories they don’t try to hide their intentions. This lot in today’s SNP pretend to be on our side and the side of Scottish independence. Nothing could be further from the truth. They are on the side of their monthly salaries and uncapped expenses! This time next year and the year after you will still be getting told the same lies by the same liars about Independence, unless you do something about it. Nobody else will do it for us.It is up to us, there will be no sudden change of tactic by the liars and deniers..

Last night was the final straw for me. Sturgeons appalling attack on Alex Salmond via British TV proved beyond a doubt this woman does not want unity of purpose or independence. Her spite and vile vindictiveness trumps everything for her. She is by far the worst leader the SNP has ever had, the worst First Minister Scotland is ever likely to see. When she inherited the role as leader of SNP Scotland was excelling in all aspects of devolved powers. Now we are failing in all fields. Education, Health, Transport, Policing, Justice all made worse by Sturgeon’s incompetence and obsession with Gender politics.

Where before I was willing to let certain things slip in the hope she would do right by our nation. Last night showed that she is incapable of bringing unity to our movement. Without it, we cannot ever win against the British state. In eight tortious years she has single handedly managed what the British State could not manage to do in 80 years, she has broken and divided the Independence Movement.

Scotland’s only hope is that she and the rest of the carpetbaggers that surround her are removed from the entire independence movement. As long as they remain, Scotland will never rid itself of our Imperial war mongering neighbour. It is time to face reality independence will never be achieved with the present SNP leadership. They have no plan, no strategy to gain independence. Their only tactic is to retain power and at any cost. We are all expendable for Sturgeons ambitions. That is just how narcissists behave!

  • In my opinion It has neither been an uncomfortable reality nor an inconvenient truth for some long time now.

Actions – and inactions – speak louder than words. If somebody behaves like a narcissist, decrees like an authoritarian and acts like a totalitarian then a narcissistic authoritarian totalitarian that person must be.

  • That is how I felt as we were canvassing in the wind, rain and darkness in the 19GE for Labour and Corbyn. Stabbed in the back by our own. The SNP are now the same BB. I can honestly say, in a small way of course, I feel for you. She is the worst politician I have ever seen. I honestly think there is something wrong with her. Even now her “In the coming weeks” statement I would say have run out of weeks. This war will be her next excuse for not having the promised referedum in 23.

    • She may be treacherous Sandy, however not half as treacherous as you and all those that work fir the benefit of the English registered parties against the best interests of your nation of birth. You are beneath contempt assustingba foreign nation to control your own.Shame on you.

      • She is worse than treacherous BB. Much worse. Look what she is doing to you and your members. You are about to be obliterated in the up and coming election. No way is she finished with you or Alex Salmond. All you need to do is think back to all the times you voted for her. One of your councillors are down to run in Midlothian and you would never know he existed. He used to be an SNP councillor till a meeting locally about a new school and he sided with the parents. In the council meeting they noticed how he was going to vote and adjourned the meeting. He came out and voted the other way. He was then deselected. At the end of the term the SNP were emptied cause they were useless. Did not have a clue how to run a council. 6 leaders in 5 years. They were scared to go on holiday as when they came back they were usurped. It was a minority Admin for Labour and they offered the SNP a coalition. They said only if Labour never criticised the SNP. They were told to piss off. That is the SNP BB and you put them there and now they are destroying you. Angus better watch out. She has him in her sights. He is next. You really should listen to what Robin McAlpine was trying to tell you on Sunday BB and try and get on with people you disagree with.

        • So Sandy your answer to Sturgeon is to vote for another bigger crew of traitors (sorry proven Traitors) Liebour , we have had this discussion before and all you are here for is to BAIT people , our society is NOT a joke and the people suffering from the incompetence of Sturgeon , Johnstone , and Starmer don’t have anything to laugh about . IF you are Scottish and a genuine socialist YOU should be working with us to make sure our fellow Scots don’t suffer , not coming on to BB to wind people up , Scotland and Scots have suffered the treachery of Liebour politicians for decades with first minister JOKE McConnell sorry LARD JOKE McConnell the SOCIALIST hahaha sending £1.5 BILLION pounds back to WM because he couldn’t find anything in Scotland to spend it on

          • I am not winding anybody up here Twathater. If I did want to wind people up you would certainly know about it. It would not get put up on the board for a start. Credit to BB for putting every post I have written up. I am on a yellow card so you may not have to put up with me much longer. I come on here to listen actually to the Prism cause I find it interesting. A lot of you guys know your stuff. I stand by the election behind Corbyn and his manifesto in which the people of Scotland and the WASPI women did not vote for and actually Twathater a few came on here agreeing with me. Maybe look at yourself Twathater and ask yourself “Am I easily wound up”?. What Scotland is stuck with just now is a hopelessly dangerous Gov that has to be removed. Not sure how, something dramatic I suppose and we can start again. With 31% of the electorate wanting independence the Nationalists will win every election in Scotland so removing this shower is what is needed. All I pointed out is that as you claim about “Liebour” well New SNP to me are worse. They are systematically destroying devolution deliberately to make sure it does not work . They are exposed now. When you read about Scot gov instructions telling departments not to work with Westminster in dual carraigewaying the A1 that tells me this is not a proper Gov. I still have to travel through 80 odd miles of winding roads to reach a decent road in England. Same with the railway to Carlyle. You are bitter Twathater and as I pointed out to BB you all should listen to what Robin McAlpine said on Sunday about conversations. By the way with New SNP you have a lot to be bitter about because round 2 is coming the way of anyone in Sturgeons way. One more thing Twathater. Seems like a few in here agree with what I am saying and just to let you know that I campaign for Labour policies “WITH” colleagues who want Independence. I campaign with colleagues who do not want Indy but want another referendum. Goodday Twathater and chill out.

      • Why thank you Lorna. Probably because I too am a Campbell. lol. I asked my 96 year old Aunt if there is a P in the name and she said yes, Campbell, the murdering ones…lol. I watch what is happening Lorna and its what they are doing to Scotland that worries me. They are utterly useless. And dangerous.

    • I think your on the money with that statement…its bad enough the tories throwing a GE till they got the result they wanted … but NS and her hangers on are doing WM job for them

    • “I honestly think there is something wrong with her”

Of course there is something wrong with Her , she had to resign from the Scottsh Law Society before
they threw Her out for being incompetent after failing to protect one of Her own clients.
Her inability to be able to make sensible rational decisions was seen again when she attempted to defend
a twice convicted fraudster, what sort of rational thinking person neve rmind a senior politicianwould do such
      a thing ? https://www.sundaypost.com/news/scottish-news/sturgeon-almost-resigned-over-defence-of-convicted-fraudster/

  • Well said. An accurate assessment of where we are under Sturgeon`s “rule”.
I keep wishing more voters would see past her and and realise what she`s been up to during her time in office but without MSM coverage it`s a slow process.
Here`s hoping the May elections show an appreciable support of ALBA and independence will have a strong Scottish voice once again.

  • Her apologists still display the most classic cognitive dissonance and decry us as divisive. It beggars belief. I love the line in your 2nd last paragraph…”In eight tortious years”, perhaps you mean tortoise years :-), more likely tortuous…However put, she is as you say, spiteful and vindictive and a narcissist of the very worst kind. She will never deliver Independence. Sadly. We must do it ourselves and rid ourselves of this BritSNP virus first.

  • Good post with valid points well made. However, it is not an English imperialist parliament. It is the parliament of GB. Set up as a binary parliament housing BOTH the English and Scottish governments as equal partners with equal authority to the treaty. To claim it as English is to undermine and disregard Scotland’s authority and true status. A mistake that all Scottish representatives make without exception. Why? Because money, status and title made those within the Scottish government kowtow to mere English parliamentary conventions, conventions that have no legal standing, and permit an English government to assume sole authority of the treaty and state, breaching the terms of the treaty. Nor is it “Brits”. It is English, English government and English establishment. It is not xenophobic to call a spade a spade. Time the Scots got over their aversion to calling the English English. Furthermore, the representatives of England are not unionists. I am more unionist than they are and I loathe the union and treaty that ratified it. They do not want the terms of the treaty upheld and have openly stated that they do not recognise it and never enacted it and if it ever was enacted it no longer was. They are English establishment supporters/representatives who believe wholly in the English sole continuator state narrative as espoused by Crawford and Boyle and promoted by the English government and its establishment during the Scottish referendum which claimed that Scotland was extinguished and subsumed into a greater England albeit under the new name of UK. A term that ALL of Scotland’s representatives use even in addressing the English government! How could they not therefore draw that conclusion? Even Mrs Murrell, acting as FM – the same role as an England’s PM – referred to Scotland as a city akin to Manchester. When those who are supposed to be at the top politically refuse to assert Scotland’s sovereign authority or to even recognise Scotland as a country why should others? Respect is earned. If you do not respect yourself why should anyone else respect you? In Scotland’s case this is apparent on a daily basis with the contempt shown to the Scots by both the English and Scottish governments. The starting point for each however is different. The English government and its establishment are opportunistic and will take advantage of those who act weak and defenceless. And yes, this is exactly how Scotland comes across. Look at other countries and how they compare. Look at the leaders at times of crises. Only Scotland comes out in hives at the mere prospect of taking full responsibility. And of all places, look at now ex-Labour for Wales leader Carwyn Jones who spoke out on behalf of not only Wales but Scotland and its right to self determination and the exercise of its sovereign authority. An act that Scotland ‘s representatives failed to do. While folk are busy self harming by referring to Scotland as a colony when Scotland is a sovereign nation state merely in an international Agreement and refusing to recognise its true status or act in its own best interests, others are looking on bewildered by what they are witnessing. A sovereign nation state that actually prefers to act the victim and permit another sovereign nation state to ride roughshod over it when there is absolutely nothing legally stopping Scotland from ending the farce with immediate effect. They cannot fathom why a nation would permit this national insult to not only go unchallenged but become normalised. And I too fail to understand such self harming actions. Why do Scots as a nation permit it? And no, Scots don’t only have one day, the day of election, to make demands and assert their sovereign authority. They have that right EVERY SINGLE DAY! Time the Scots stopped looking at tomorrow and focused upon today.

  • You articulate what we all feel, Roddy. This latest foray into American/British international affairs, in support of mass suicide by the West, is unparalleled in Scottish history. She must know that if this escalates, none of us, including herself, unless she has been promised a bolthole a hundred miles under the ocean bed, can survive? As the UK’s nuclear target, we will be taken out first, along with the UK’s strategic military centre (Northwood?) and London. Does she really not see the parallels between Crimea, the Donbas republics and us? Between the much dismembered Poland and Belgium, during WW II? This time, a conventional war is beyond British capabilities, and the same probably applies to all the other NATO nations, so the nuclear option will almost certainly be brought into play. So many opportunities to break free and all of them utterly wasted. For what? So that porn-addled men in frocks can frolic in women’s bathrooms and changing rooms? Wasn’t it supposed to be today that the GRA Reform Bill was to be introduced? Doesn’t a conflict situation provide myriad avenues of escape for the unscrupulous politician and myriad opportunities to make even more wealth for themselves for the elite?

  • It must break your heart to write that BB as I know it breaks my heart to read it, I have voted for the snp for 40+ years but they’ll never receive another vote from me or my family until she and her clique are gone.

I’ll never forgive any of the others either for not standing up for Alex S.

It will be the Alba party from now when I vote and if they’re not standing I’ll spoil my voting paper.

    • I was one of the 1st 150 to sign up to alba … all can say is welcome aboard … we need more who have seen through the snp lies

  • Last night was also the last straw for me Roddy, and most probably for all those who yearn for independence who are not blinded, as PAB says so eloquently, by the sun shining out of Sturgeon’s arse.
The question is, what are we going to do. With better weather round the corner I think the emphasis should be in taking our anger to Bute House.
I really like Phil Boswell but I’m wondering at what point for him and other decent card carrying members will things just become too much. By staying do they think there is a chance of a coup?

  • For long enough I’ve maintained that I do not want an independent Scotland with Sturgeon &Co at the helm. They must be removed from power before we move towards Scottish Independence.

  • Another excellent analyses Roddy, in which you rightly asked the question of our leader: “was it stupidity or on purpose”

Well, she is hardly stupid, which means she and her party must be taking the independence movement up successive blind alleys on purpose.

And that is precisely what postcolonial theory tells us to expect with a dominant national party which is easily bought by the colonial power and feathers its nest, builds up its pensions, behaves like a gang, attacks the real independence campaigners, and takes the independence movement up blind alleys.

Which in turn leads to the creation of new independence parties more focused on the core objective, as we see.

I doubt the council elections will tell us much. We do need a plebiscite election on independence and an offer of independence then and there. That would put plenty clear political water between Alba (promising independence) and the SNP (another s.30 blind alley).

However, there is always an outside chance Gove/Johnson may consent to a 2023 referendum, this time including a devo-max third option. Sturgeon could then claim some ‘success’, at last. This may be dependent on the delayed Scottish census which is expected to find Brits in the ascendance, and again with no ‘secondary criteria’ imposed on residents from other nations being permitted to vote on a specifically Scottish constitutional matter.

  • About 18 months ago my son said to me,” I thought you were talking mince when you said about Sturgeon, but everything you said was bang on”
I first hear about her on a blog, before blog were popular, about the law society.
But clicked when she tried to get her father elected (2015)

The council elections ? I do worry about those

  • “That is just how narcissists behave”.

You are exactly right, Roddy. That is precisely because she IS one!
I saw it early on. My qualifications on this are that I was married to one and then fell into a relationship with another.
I began to study psychology on an amateur level following my experiences, basically looking for answers to WTF had happened to me.

Knowing the traits and techniques narcissists use, I began to recognise them in Sturgeon and virtually all those around her.

It’s a disgrace that she and her entourage continue to shower disaster and disgrace onto our country, wrecking our credibility and standing within the world without any kind of sanction and without any kind of sense of remorse, so consumed are they by their own ambition and entitlement.

They have turned Scotland into everything we never wanted our country to be.
I cling to the hope that there will be a reckoning one day when they will be held to account for the harm they have caused Scotland

  • I saw through Sturgeon at the last Holyrood elections when she insisted
on SNP 1&2, when anyone with an ounce of sense knew that would let in the unionists
under the gerrymandered D’Hondt system. She’s not stupid, the blind alleys have to be deliberate

  • Excellent article.

No matter how bad it gets I will never vote for a Unionist Party. Those in Labour and LibDems who hope for a comeback are wasting their time. If your loyalty is to a Party waving the UJ you are finished in Scotland. I wold rather not vote if the were the only choices.

  • For the benefit of Sandy, I have studied the parcel of rogues in 1707 and to some some extent I can can understand their position back then They were under pressure, economic and military and although I cannot agree with what they did I can understand the hopeless position they were in but for the life of me I will never understand the arseholes like you who voted NO in 2014 and celebrated the result.

Tell me Sandy what pressure were you under?

    • No pressure whatsoever Graeme. none. I campaigned right through the referendum thinking if the people vote yes so be it. We are independent. The people did not vote so that was that. Although Graeme that was not that was it. Practically the next day the squealing started about MI5, Cheated, Piles being switched, Bags found later. The list goes on. You were beat fair and square Graeme. I like the freedom of like last year travelling to N. Wales to see an ill friend then onto Kent to see my son. Crossing border after border using the same currency , free as a bird. On top of that Graeme. the SNP are useless. They are nowhere qualified to break up a country. Individually useless every one of them and it got far worse when AS left. Far worse. Up until then I thought they were running the country OK. Not now with this shower. One thing before I go to watch Eastenders Graeme. If there is another Indy ref don’t you go round the doors. Stick to delivering leaflets. You could not persuade my black labrador to take a biscuit.

      • You seem to like crossing borders, Sandy, but I think that you like having England conservative governments more.
Scandinavians come and go without being directly ruled from Stockholm.
Your position is essentially anti Scottish , when it’s not just a simple council of dispair.

        • yes I do like to travel unrestricted across borders in the UK. That means I am getting out and about enjoying myself. Whoever is in Government never crosses my mind. freedom to travel and using the same currency. What is not to like. Its good. You should try it Don. On being anti-Scottish I will pass on that. Really not worth any typing time really. If there is another Indy in 23 (There wont) then Scotland joining the EU will ensure there is a border. To be in the EU you have to have your own currency and absolutely no politician anywhere would be able to guarantee that there will not be a run on the new currency with possibly losing against the £. Remember the Euro came into being around 1.60 to the Euro. If that happens mind you we would all probably holiday at home and I would try and learn to love Scotland.

    • Correct Jan. lol. That is why I told Graeme not to go and chap doors with his attitude. Much better delivering the leaflets through the letterboxes. He could not with his attitude persuade my Lab to take a biscuit when my Lab can see me take a biscuit out my pocket from 50 yards. And that is in the near dark like this morning. He is 14 now and struggling , bless him. Half human. Thanks for answering.

  • So just so you understand Sandy show me where I said we were cheated, what I said was we were betrayed by people like you just like the parcel of rogues in 1707 who I can gave some excuses to at least.
There’s a difference between being cheated and being betrayed, I suggest you look it up the problem with betrayal Sandy is it never comes from your enemies , The point I was making was I fail to find the excuses your betrayal.

But if you feel being able to travel to Wales then on to SE England without border restrictions or changing currency is a good reason to sell you country down the river then best of luck to you, go and enjoy Eastenders, you’re clearly amongst your own people there

  • I know you you never said we were cheated, you said we said we were cheated look at the quote below particularly the last word these are your words
“The people did not vote so that was that. Although Graeme that was not that was it. Practically the next day the squealing started about MI5, Cheated,”

I can tell from your posts Sandy you’re not the sharpest tool in the woodshed but do yourself a favour and try to think before you speak it could save you making a complete arse of yourself

    • “The people did not vote so that was that. Although Graeme that was not that was it. Practically the next day the squealing started about MI5, Cheated, Piles being switched, Bags found later. The list goes on. You were beat fair and square Graeme.”……..Good try Graeme . Not good enough though I am afraid. Remember the guy in the transit van with the No bags that he claimed to have found who landed in jail. Do not know about your history in politics at election time Graeme but if you have ever been a party member manning a polling station you will know how rigid they are with anybody stepping out of line in any manner. I have manned stations , been at countless of counts and to pass on assertions towards the people who work there no way will it further your cause. You have been the cause of a yellow card to me . Hopefully requoting properly what I said instead of part off which you did hopefully will not cause another offense. Your biggest problem right now Graeme is not me or other yoons but the people running the country now. You will probably know by now that down in WM there has been nothing done to get a referendum. No meetings, no papers, nothing. Defo no Indy in 23 and with an election in probably May24 there goes 24 away for a referendum. You have been had by Sturgeon and you should concentrate on getting rid of her . Right I am away to watch the 2nd half of the game with Hearts against St Liedoon.
