Every time the establishment chooses a new Prime Minister, the corrupt media go into overdrive. With each new incumbent, we get the same exaggerated and very contrived feel good stories about the new arrival. There is a moment in time when the press and broadcasters would have you believe that the UK has chosen a JFK- Mandela-Ghandi reincarnate.
We are now into our 7th PM in 10 years and the same establishment BS is in full swing regarding ex-mayor Burnham. We have been assured he is so different from the previous six; indeed,we are reliably informed he is a man of the people. Someone in the same real world as us, he understands and he will finally make England/UK the land of milk and honey.
The reality, sadly, is completely different. As Burnham sacked Starmer’s toadies and appointed his own instead, we were assured massive change was afoot. During an interview with TLDR News, UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham said he believes Labour “didn’t get it right” in its response to the war on Gaza.
The media went out of its way to inform us Andy had sacked Starmer’s hardcore pro-Israeli cabinet members, and with the statement made we were to believe that now the UK would be condemning Israel and its genocide. We would stop supplying weapons and distance ourselves from the Netanyahu genociders!
All smoke and mirrors, unfortunately, when you look at Burnham’s Cabinet you see he has replaced them with his own Labour Friends of Israel cronies. Indeed, 40%, including himself, are directly linked to the Labour Friends of Israel (LFI) lobby, which works for Israel. LFI’s former director, David Mencer, is now the Israeli government spokesperson for Burnham. Those with indirectly apparent pro-Israel ties comprise almost all of them.
One of the first actions on the whole middle east crisis he made was to give the Americans permission to use airfields in the UK to bomb Iran in the US’s own illegal war— a war that is directly linked to the genocide in Palestine. So, no change there!
This week Burnham welcomed as his first foreign leader the unelected fascist dictator Zelensky. Burnham was overflowing in his praise of this warmongering, coke-addicted despot.”You are the first leader I have welcomed in person since taking office, and that is no accident,” Burnham told Zelensky,”It is intended to send a very clear message: We are with Ukraine 100%, I am personally with you 100%, and I will honour every commitment this country has made to Ukraine in full.”
So, no change there!
He also went out of his way this week to support WMD on the Clyde.Trident will be at the heart of UK defence, he crowed. So no change there!
Here is what the Anglo establishment never wants you to realise; they don’t want the public working out that merely changing the guy at the top doesn’t change anything; it is business as usual and we all have to keep our heads down and meekly comply. The system is what needs replacing; change cannot be allowed to happen, otherwise they might lose control and be unable to keep stealing the nations of the union’s wealth for themselves!
Sadly, those of you who held out a little hope that things might be different are regrettably going to be disappointed. It is the same throughout the globe; the proletariat are there to feed the greed of the few.
We saw another example this week of capitalist greed and control. The corrupt head of FIFA decided that it would be a good idea for the guardians of football to sell off the World Cup to hedge funds and the filthy rich. The cherry on the top was to be pursuing a multibillion-dollar deal with Jared Kushner’s brother to sell ownership stakes in the World Cup to private investors. The most important people in football are the fans and this for certain was not a plan with their best interests at heart. Fortunately, (for now) there has been enough push-back to see these plans halted. However, do not relax; they will be back with a Baldrick-type Plan B!
The biggest ‘con job’ this week is happening in the square-mile of London with the news that BP is to sell off all ‘their’ interests in the North Sea. It will net them £Billions. What our corrupt media won’t tell you is this: those assets of BP were stolen from the people of Scotland. After the discovery of Scottish Oil and Gas, a company, British National Oil Corporation, was formed and the headquarters were in Bothwell Street, Glasgow. It was supposed to bring thousands of jobs and untold commercial opportunities to Scotland. (The usual neoliberal Anglo lies!) GB Energy, anyone?
Being in Thatcher’s time, this was never going to be allowed to happen in and for Scotland. The upstream oil assets of the state-owned British National Oil Corporation (BNOC) were first transformed into Britoil in 1982 and subsequently acquired by BP in 1988. Not a single penny found its way into Scottish pockets. Indeed, they closed down the Glasgow office and the jobs were gone and relocated in London. So no change there!
