Last night I had the pleasure of interviewing Kirsty Fraser the Alba Party candidate for the Linn Ward, Glasgow by election. Kirsty is a fantastic person and candidate. She us grounded and has great empathy with the voters in her ward. As the full-time carer and mother to an autistic son, she understands what it means to struggle and juggle. In between her caring and home duties Kirsty not only manages to find time to campaign for the Alba Party, she is coordinator for The Scottish Feminist Network. Being constantly ignored by councillors and MSPs made Kirsty decide that rather than just sit at home and moan about it she would take direct action. Hence, we find her as a candidate in this interesting by election next Thursday.
Kirsty is working tirelessly to bring change to Glasgow, her ward and the fortunes of her party. Please listen to what she has to say, and if she inspires you the same way she has me then if you have any spare time between now and next Thursday please get up to the Linn Ward and give her a hand.
My first impressions of Kirsty are, that she would make an excellent councillor. She comes over very well, and when she says she cares about the ward she’s standing in, and the people in it, I believe her. She seems confident, competent, and determined, and I wish her all the best for Thursday.
I have to agree. None of the usual empty patronising promises. Kirsty has obviously been listening to peoples concerns. I sincerely hope the good people of Linn give her their vote. She will make a difference.

Excellent interview from a great candidate
Yeah, enjoyed your chat, good to hear about the local issues and as talked about both here and in the previous prism… how we need to get our homeless AND hungry people (at the very least indoors and) aff the street! Glasgow City Council must and should be able to accommodate our people somewhere other than “under the bridge”. There’s normally a City Centre refuge through the winter months up by The Barras at East Campbell Street at this time of year for people who find themselves to be homeless, with other and or additional needs… but what about the end of this year? Will be keeping an aye out for the forthcoming prism chat about Glasgow’s current homeless situation with the man on the street, cheers.
