Today’s podcast is part two of our views on the election. The usual panel are joined this week by Sally Hughes and Allan Petrie. Both these independence stalwarts campaigned so hard over the past six weeks.
Since Thursday more information and reactions have come to the surface. Self-entitlement of many of the SNP ex-MPs who were shocked and surprised by what many of us knew would happen.
There has to be a sea change by all our independence parties and groupings. First and foremost we need unity. Almost 750,000 Independence voters stayed at home. We have to find out who they are, where they are and why they didn’t vote on Thursday. Prism has an announcement to tell you the how!

What a cracker of a Prism, Roddy and the panel. It is quite unbelievable that these bone-heads are still in denial about why this happened. Part of me wishes they had been wiped out totally for their treachery and stupidity. What will happen now is that the independence movement will change into something much harder and more determined – and it needs to, in reality. John Swinney’s wet noodle approach was always a cul de sac. You swear if you want, Phil, and Iain should come in with a big reeking pipe next time. Jeez, some folk are totalitarians from the cradle, I swear.
My comments are routinely deleted from The National if ‘trans’ is mentioned or if the SNP independence formula is not chanted, and, now, my subscription appears to have been cancelled. They keep on saying that I am breaking their rules, but I have never broken the law, while some of their commentators use the most vile language towards women and those who do not kow tow to the SNP. What has happened to our country? Why is Scotland riddled with treachery and the most vile stupidity?

Lorna, don’t put yourself in a cul de sac position by talking to these far right Sturgeonites its like talking to people who have been locked in a cupboard for the last ten years and counting their so not interested in Independence that I gave up on The National years ago its a rubbish newspaper, if it stopped circulation today if would have done Independence the biggest favor.
As an independence supporter I stayed at home because I believe the current SNP leadership has no real desire to achieve independence, whilst lazily still taking the pro independence electorate for granted and arrogantly still expecting that electorate to turn out to vote for a party which only pays lip-service to independence. The SNP leadership needed to be taught a lesson, another lesson, a bigger lesson than the one they were given and which they ignored after the Rutherglen and Hamilton West by-election.
Are they learning from it? The first signs are not encouraging. The leadership seems to be preparing to kick the can of independence further down the road than ever before. Why? Mainly because the britnat media is telling them to. And that fear of the britnat media has been constant for the last decade. That must change. The britnat media will never side with a party which advocates [even in a lip-service way] independence, so stop pandering to them. Get off the back foot.
If the SNP leadership [with Mr Vow, Murray Foote at its head] obeys the britnat media and kicks the can they will be insulting the pro independence electorate even more and they will damage their party beyond repair. Never mind the 500,000 or so independence supporters who abstained from voting SNP, the numbers will be in the millions.
We need to get rid of Mr Nice and Mr Vow. We need to focus on independence more than ever before. Independence, first and foremost.
For a start the nine SNP MPs must not take their seats in Westminster. Don’t make a meal of it, no press conference, no official statements, just don’t turn up. Stay in Scotland and make contacts with pro independence groups like Salvo and BiS.
The penultimate sentence in this post reads: ‘Will you spare just 20 seconds of your life to sign for Scotland – and Declare the end of the union?’

We celebrate that in 1320 they put their name to a Declaration of the independence of Scotland – but will you? They told the world of Scotland’s independence – but will you? Across Scotland, at rallies, at Yes Stalls, at many other events, Scots have signed their Declaration of a Sovereign Scot. They have told the world of their decision to end the union – but will you join them?
669 Days? That is the number of days between today – the 7th of July 2024, and the 7th of May 2026, the date of the next Scottish Parliament election. How many words already appear that say that Scottish election will be very important, millions more words will appear in blogs, will be heard in speeches – but in truth what clear definitive actions that achieve Scotland’s independence will be seen?
We can watch and we can listen as each of those 669 days pass, day by day – or we can act!
Will the world know that yet another UK Prime Minister has said that the people of Scotland will not be allowed to decide the future of their country?
The Declaration initiative will tell them! The Declaration has already done so, and used United Nations decisions on the right of all peoples to self-determination to do so. 18 UN Member States have also been contacted.
Coincidence or karma, I don’t know – but if you look closely at the date in The National article it is the 7th of July. I have not stopped since then – and just asked this one very simple question – will you sign?
Over the next 669 days I will tour Scotland with blank Declarations. It takes about 20 seconds to sign your signature – there are 57,801,600 seconds in those 669 days – so I repeat my simple question – will you sign?
Will you spare just 20 seconds of your life to sign for Scotland – and Declare the end of the union? Will you?
