The votes have been counted and results are in for all to see. Sadly, as this site has been warning of for the past four years the SNP have been hammered. Our podcast title today sums it up, Devastation, Delusion and Devolution.
The SNP contingent at Westminster have suffered a Devastation to their numbers. The reasons are simple, Delusion, that Scottish women in particular would accept the Stonewall/Woke nonsense. We were expected to accept the Delusion that men can just declare themselves women by applying some lippy and putting on a dress.
The SNP leadership was deluded by their own hubris that they knew best and the voters would keep accepting the independence carrots offered to them by a deluded leadership.
The cabal that run and ruined a once great party tried to delude the public once too often when they thought they could switch from being a party of independence to a party of Devolution and cocks in frocks.
They thought we the public would be too deluded to realise they stole £633,000 of our independence donations. They thought they could further deluded us by appointing the author of the 2014 British VOW as CEO and we would meekly accept it because Nicola said so!
They thought that by ignoring and then attacking the pro Independence movement, media and supporters nobody would notice the malice and nastiness.
They thought that dropping any attempt to gain us our independence and instead talk up improving Devolution would be enough to keep us electing them.
No matter how many of us tried and failed to get them to listen they continued living in their own wee Sturgeonite bubble. They knew best we were evil anti-independence, nomophobesmtransphobes, yoons!
Well, I have news for you SNP, the chickens have come home too roost and you took a roasting. If you don’t start listening now then, 2026 it will be even worse for your party.
The signs aren’t good, Swinney today suggesting we need to try and convert more people to independence. The old soft nos lie again!
Every opinion poll for the past two years and more has shown over 50% Scots want independence. That hasn’t faltered. It is the SNP that has faltered and stumbled into a cul de sac, believeing their own lies and narratives. That is why the SNP vote is down so dramatically. Over 40% of eligible Scottish voters remained at home yesterday. That is the equivalent of over 500,000+ independence supporters that didn’t feel enthused enough to vote.
The task now for all believers in our nations independence is to get these half a million+ voters back and enthused again. Swinney & Co better start listening or else the English Nationalists will sweep into control of Holyrood in 2026.
The Scottish voters told ALL the independence parties the same message.We don’t trust you.We don’t respect you. We don’t believe you.

The Finish Line … first you must find it, before you can cross it.
Many, too many, I suspect, do not yet realise that the finish line Scotland must cross to fully regain our independence is at the United Nations. Scotland will be finally independent again (and it will only be fully independent again) when the nations of the world at the United Nations confirm that they recognise – Scotland IS an independent Sovereign State. That is the finish line! But they need to know that the people of Scotland want to regain their country’s independence.
It won’t happen because of posts on F/book, on X, not because of blogs, and yes – not even because of elections like yesterday. What they need is evidence, hard documentary evidence. What they need is evidence of your self-determination to regain Scotland’s independence.
Starting on the 5th of July 2021, the Declaration of a Sovereign Scot began to build and provide that evidence, and has done via the HQ of the United Nations and via 18 UN Member States, and has done so now for over 3 years.
I will shortly post details of where and when I will begin travelling across Scotland (with blank forms). So, today on this 5th of July 2024, I invite you to be ready – to join all the Sovereign Scots who have already taken part. How? They used their individual signature, just that, no more – their signature to confirm the end of the union, and to tell the nations of the world of their decision!

Yes, indeed, independence is not finished – very far from it. The SNP has been humbled, but it’s not out yet, and it can still change things if it has the guts and mind to so do. ALBA, ISP, etc. need to get together and form a loose alliance with SALVO/Liberation, and so on, even if the SNP still reneges. If the SNP doesn’t join the loose alliance by 2026 or if it doesn’t admit that it made a monumental error with the gender woo woo, it will have to disappear from the scene completely.
I must admit to being worried about Sinn Fein, though, because, although they played a blinder by removing themselves from association with conflict and by refusing to go to Westminster, they, too, have succumbed to the gender woo woo, and I would bet my bottom dollar that they are going to find themselves in deep doo doo if they don’t sever their ties with Stonewall. We have to get it through our skulls that the ‘trans’ lobby is hell-bent on undermining Europe (and the Anglosphere) in its entirety, and it could not give two figs for Scottish, Welsh or Irish independence. They’re all totalitarians of the hard left with neoliberal tendencies – the other side of the far right, neoliberal coin – and just as committed to unregulated capitalism, money laundering, etc.
If we want an independent Scotland that is worth living in, we are going to have to rethink a lot of the past couple of decades and start to look reality in the eye because we should start out as we mean to go on, by ensuring that our culture, languages, literature, etc., are protected and encouraged or we will be bequeathing very different Scotland to our grandchildren. I often hear the refrain: I don’t recognize our country any more. This is from people in their 40s and 50s, not the very elderly.
So much change is happening so fast that people are being unmoored from their communities and the country into which they were born. Ordinary joe or jeannie in the street did not do this, but the politicians who purport to speak for us did. They, it was, who decided – since the 1970s – that we should be experimented upon on almost an annual basis – without consent or social consensus. The MSM, on the whole, has gone along with it and encouraged it, too. This behaviour is the preserve of the totalitarian, and it is going to become a lot worse if we do not stand up to it.
If you’ll forgive me I’ll relate a wee story telt tae me by a local. A high school in the north of Scotland, like other schools, has four Houses which, come sports day and the like, the pupils are divided into. Since at least the 1960’s these Houses held names of local areas or districts.
About a year ago an individual recently connected with the school took it upon themselves to change these historic House names. The majority of other members of the school staff, mostly local, were against such an unnecessary and insensitive change. The changes were implemented, however, largely through the force of personality of said individual.
Bear in mind there is a sizeable number of English pupils and parents connected with the school because of a near-by military base. There has been since before and after the second world war. Bear in mind also the town has been expanding and people from outside the area, many from England, have settled there. But until a year ago no-one even thought about changing the local tradition of these House names.
So why did the majority not defend the school’s traditions against unnecessary change imposed by a self-confident, strident, English-accented individual? Largely for two reasons: 1. their own traditional, polite reticence and 2. because they probably thought to do so would lay them all open to accusations of being anti-English.
Apparently the Houses are now named after various types of military aircraft.
It is happening everywhere in every context: lochs losing their Gaelic names; glens and straths being replaced by valleys; firths being replaced by estuaries. My grandchildren speak no Scots (Scots and Gaelic were the languages here) although they have Scottish accents. I rarely hear children or teenagers using Scots now. Americanisms and English idioms are the norm, and few people can say ‘ch’, but replace it with the ‘ck’ sound. I threw a book at the wall the other day because it was full of Northern English usages, such as ‘he was sat’, ‘she was stood’. Even the written English we learned in school is being corrupted by spoken idioms. I think you are right that most of us are too polite, too conciliatory and concessionary towards those who show no respect for us and our customs or make the slightest effort to integrate and conform, but bring their ways with them and impose them on us.

Well the Election is done and dusted!
The nuSNP got the massive bloody nose they so deserved and needed! I’m glad because is must lead to massive immediate change.
So what must they do?!
1) Get rid of every whiff of the toxic Sturgeon and her disastrous reign.
All her chosen nodding dogs gone. Including Swinney.
2)Bring Steven Flynn up to Holyrood. Reverse the rule Sturgeon brought in to stop Joanna Cherry standing. Have a transparent 3 month leadership election decided by the members.
3)Reverse Angus MI5 Robertson’s decision to take away members power. Then actively encourage and invite all the thousands of us who resigned to return.
4)The new leader (Flynn? Cherry?) whoever is chosen must immediately set up the promised ‘Independence Convention’ which MUST include ALL factions of the YES Movement and together they must thrash out a clear way forward for our Independence ignoring all routes via Westminster – that way is dead and buried.
5)Publish their decisions and immediately create new policies. One of which must be SNP1 Alba2 for the Holyrood elections.
There is no other way the SNP can survive. If they do this immediately they could be back in Holyrood with a super majority for YES in 2026. Unionists gone. I’d immediately rejoin and be an activist again for them.
There is no other route – it is now entirely in their hands. The Unionists would of course fight this hard! They have been loving Sturgeon’s NuSNP for years!
SNP1 Alba 2 can never work. 2021 was unique circumstances. This time SNP will need the list. As to Alva they are going backwards and show zero signs of any breakthrough if ever. Their 11,000 votes for 19 candidates tells us that the Scottish voters do not warm to Alba as it is today.It tooneeds to look at replacing those at the top if it is to prosper. Almost 750,000 Indy supporters stayed at home unenthused to vote for any of the Indy parties.That should be a concern for all the parties however, not one of them has accepted responsibility for that lack of enthusiasm

So that’s 8 surveys in June of this year alone:
Only 1 has a plurality in favour of YES (Ipsos 3-9 Jun 24), which just shy of an absolute majority (49%). Excluding those Undecided 51% are in favour.
In fact of the 24 polls published since the beginning of 2024 only 3 have a plurality in favour of YES and none with an absolute majority.
Ok, let’s go through this step by step re ISP.
You mentioned the supermajority idea. That was first put forward by myself in an article about the Scotland Act and adapted by others later.
You mentioned women’s rights. We were banging on about that long before it was popular.
You mentioned abstention. Yes, we started that debate as well in Scottish politics and ran on an abstentionist platform.
You mentioned that this is a peoples’ movement and Salvo. Yes. We’ve been backing them for the past year. Both our leader and deputy leader were at their AGM last week. We’ve run with all the stuff about freeports, helped with meetings, provided speakers and promoted Salvo at every turn. To coin a phrase, we’re the only party that unequivocally supports them and that is also pushing the debate on freeports. Noone, I repeat noone, is doing this right now apart from us. That should bother you.
You congratulated Eva and Sally on their heroic performance. We had an agreement not to run where they were running. We had a candidate in Bathgate and Linlithgow, next to Grangemouth. We could have run him in Eva’s constituency. We didn’t. We didn’t get a mention or a pat on the back from you for doing that. Or do you just take it for granted that we should step aside and do the right thing?
For that matter, we also stepped aside for Alba in 2021. We got castigated for the next two years for not actually joining them. We got pelters for not going along with their Scotland United idea. Now Alba has done the dirty on a clever woman and they’re out of favour with you. None of this is mentioned.
For the past four years Roddy, we have been changing the debate. We have been ahead of the curve and we have been right about most things, particularly Alba. And you completely and utterly take us for granted. Of course someone will start these debates. Of course someone will support Salvo. Of course someone will do the donkey work. Of course someone will speak about freeports. But it’s actually us that are doing it, Roddy and you call us a waste of space.
I’m also bemused by the invisible timetable you’re working to. How long in your book, should it take to set up a new political party and get sufficient votes to get elected members? Do you have any idea of the work that goes into building up networks and getting out a message, when you don’t have access to mainstream media and you don’t have the backing of multi millionaires like Farage? It’s easy to sit back and crack the whip at others from a bar in Brussels. It’s an entirely different matter out on the street. We’ve actually made a lot of progress over the past year and built up our membership, but when part of your remit is not being controlled by millionaires, then it all takes a bit longer. I understand your frustration right now, but I’m struggling to understand what your alternative is. The SNP have proved to us that you can have as many MPs as you like, but if you’re controlled by other interests, it’s hopeless.
The cold truth is that we have a long hard road ahead of us. ISP are already walking it, because there’s no alternative. We’ll do that for as long as we can, but as a small party we are vulnerable in numbers and financially. If we fold, it will be through no fault of our own, but it will be on you and others who take us completely for granted. You’ll miss us when we’re gone.
