My Guests this week are Prof.Mark McNaught and David Henry of Scottish Sovereignty Research Group. They have studied the Treaty and Articles of Union. They join me to discuss the paper they published on Scotland withdrawing from the Union.
Later I am joined by Iain Lawson and Phil Boswell of the SNP to discuss the interview and the week’s political news. All viewed Through the lens of a Scottish Prism!
I am attaching both a video and audio stream so that you have every option to listen. The audio link underneath.

The Facebook Censors
Unfortunately a number of pro Indy Facebook sites have turned out to be merely pro SNP sites and have blocked a number of bloggers, including myself. We have managed to frustrate these efforts to close us down through our readers sharing our articles and building our audience.Sharing in Facebook is very important and helps the Independence message to reach a much wider audience. In addition many have taken out free direct subscriptions. I very much appreciate this support.
Webcom Radio is Now Playing:
Another Great Prism Roddy with enlightening and educational views from everyone , David”s Internet connection somewhat spoiled his interactions but the gist of the conversation was clear and easily followed , the SSRG group should engage more with the bloggers , and the bloggers should post links to any information they have re the group
It was also very educational to watch IAIN and PHIL and their exposures of what has been going on , Phil was quite honest in his belief that a lot of SNP reps had forgotten , deliberately or otherwise why they were elected and who they are beholden too , it is NOT the political party it IS the people who elected them and it is the people who WILL REMOVE them
I loved seeing the anger and passion Iain displayed and constantly displays , alongside your own passion and anger which is most times palpable , that is why I am so disappointed that Iain has declined my proposal to chair a bloggers committee of enlightened but disgusted bloggers to DEMAND a meeting with Sturgeon to again DEMAND that she states publicly , categorically , and specifically that ALL future elections will be plebiscitery elections , Iain believes that she would refuse to meet the bloggers , but even if she did , that would only further highlight her avoidance of anything independence , and convince more people that she should be removed
As has been highlighted more and more the ONLY way we will either remove her or get her to accept a plebiscite election is by FORCE OF NUMBERS , a group of BLOGGERS who represent and educate the vast majority of indy supporters and are TRUSTED and mostly respected but frustrated and disillusioned with the constant missed opportunities and the refusal to accept any route other than the FAILED SECT 30 route would IMO be a CRUCIAL part of that FORCE
EVEN if she refused to meet the committee or refused to accede to their demands it is more information for the electorate and HIGHLIGHTS the contempt she holds for our views
WE desperately need this person to face the reality that we are in charge of her , NOT the other way about , and a committee of angry indy supporting bloggers would be a start to the REVOLUTION
Iain is right she wouldn’t countenance a meeting with us. I have it on good authority many of her MPs and MSPs never get granted an audience. She only allows a select few near her and the majority of them are not elected officials but advisers, civil servants and of course lobbyists. We the Bloggers are imploring her every day to go for a plebiscite. Indeed this site in November/December 2019 was begging her to do that very thing long before Alba was around. It is up to the SNP members to get her on board or out. That will only happen when SNP members/vranches/constituencies start threatening their sitting councillors,MPs and MSPs with deselect ion if no action on Indy. That or scandal is all that will remove her
So Roddy, how many prominent members like Phil Boswell are there out there, totally pissed off with the direction that this is all heading, or not heading; stagnation. From what Iain says, he seems to know quite a few dissatisfied who are whispering secrets in his ear.
It would seem to me that it’s time for them to all get together and issue a warning to the hierarchy to get back on track, or get thrown out. I’m sure that a crowd funder to take out a few full page sides, in a couple of national papers would make a bit of a stir. I’d gladly dig deep.
The blogs are brilliant but like the SSRG information, they’re not reaching a wide enough audience.
Roddy I have been following your blog for years and I trust your opinion what really pisses me off is that the SNP boasted they had 125,000 members at their height , now I presume much diminished after all the shenanigans , yet WE have something like being gracious 100,000 people supposed members holding Scotland and indy supporters to ransom , FFS there are more NON MEMBERS than members so how do we go about getting rid of her apart from an election
I keep on saying it we will only win if we do it collectively but there are so many fragmented groups all going in different directions , and the larger organisations are mostly talking shops with figure heads controlling the direction of travel
The reason I keep bringing the bloggers up is their readership encompasses the broader indy movement mostly devoid of party partisanship and is NOT afraid to call out or highlight wrong moves , their main goal and focus is on independence not party politics and that is the way it should be , we should all have learned our lessons about elevating people to celebrity status as has been proven with the pervert Sturgeon whose narcissistic lunacy believes she is the chosen one , instead of just being a useful idiot for her maisters and a TRAITOR TO SCOTS
The Scottish Sovereignty Research Group is progress in the right direction, and reminds me of the Scottish UN Committee, which included Willie MacRae.
https://www.electricscotland.com/independence/scotEUMcRae.pdf
To quote from the article…”While I was trying to set up the Scotland-UN Committee I approached the SNP,
thinking the party would support such a move. To cut a very long story short,
chairman Billy Wolfe told me I was wasting my time, and its constitutional expert
Prof. Neil McCormack told me if it had been possible he would have done it himself!”
Sounds uncannily familiar doesn’t it? Though, when Willie MacRae heard of the initiative, he jumped on board.
The Scottish UN Committee was successful using International Diplomacy to bring pressure to bear on the UK Government, and was instrumental in setting up Devolution.
Such a pity that Sturgeon is no Willie MacRae, but Scotland’s Constitutional Sovereignty, and indeed, Scotland’s unconstitutional subjugation through Brexit constitute breaches of an International Treaty between sovereign Nations, and I believe with every fibre of my being that the Scottish Sovereignty Research Group should be submitting these arguments to the UN, with or without the backing or endorsement of Sturgeon’s “Government”.
I am led to believe that such representation might lack, but need “Legal Personality” for it’s submissions to be heard properly, but from what I can gather, the Scottish UN Committee was in the same predicament, but that didn’t stop them. Their success was in large part down to educating and garnering influence by raising awareness of Scotland’s predicament.
It’s to their lasting shame that the SNP isn’t in the driving seat with such an International initiative already, but I fear in the fullness of time there will a host of other issues to pad out the SNP’s “lasting shame” portfolio.
It’s encouraging to hear Mark McNaught is liaising with people in EFTA, but I hope there are similar interactions planned for the Council of Europe and the UN. The more these Agencies know about Scotland’s Sovereign Constitution and the bogus unwritten conventions of UK Parliamentary Sovereignty, and indeed Scotland’s colonial subjugation, the easier it will become for Scotland resurrecting it’s sovereign Constitution to secure International Recognition.
I also agree, the SSRG needs wider exposure, but once again, much of what the Scottish UN Committee achieved went totally under the radar.
Sovereignty is a binary legal distinction. It doesn’t require a democratic mandate, nor the blessing or consent of Holyrood.
Thanks for that excellent Post Breeks. That article/letter about Willie MacRae really needs to be widely disseminated.
