The Next Steps

On Wednesday morning the Supreme Court in London, England, will give its verdict on Scottish democracy. Nothing we do or say now will alter that decision. I, like many thought the ‘strategy’ of passing over our sovereignty to a court based in England was a huge mistake.

Asking a committed Unionist Lord Advocate to plead our case in London is one of the most bizarre decisions in the history of Scotland’s struggle to escape the English imperial grip. What was Sturgeon thinking when she appointed this woman? She opposes our core policy, and yet she asked her to plead that cause? Utterly bewildering!

Whichever way, the decision goes tomorrow it will be a bad outcome for Scotland. If as I expect the SC deems Westminster is sovereign and not the Scottish people, we have a problem. If in the court’s opinion Holyrood has been acting outwith the terms of the Scotland Act then we are back to square one. It also means that the SNP gold standard referendum route is over forever!

We warned everyone in 2014, never again would an English PM ever agree to a Scottish Independence Referendum. Why Nicola Sturgeon and her party believed that they could somehow possibly get a Section 30 from Westminster is to say the least mind boggling!

Should the court agree to Holyrood holding a referendum we have to hope that our Lord Advocate’s own words do not undermine that vote. Lord Advocate Dorothy Bain said that any result from a second referendum would just be “speculative” and not legally binding. She gave our Imperial masters a perfect escape clause. “Go on hold your referendum, but we will just ignore the result anyway as YOUR top legal Eagle told us it is only speculative not binding!”

This, of course, should have resulted in Ms Bain’s immediately dismissal. In any other walk of life her actions would be construed as industrial misconduct! We need a binding referendum nothing less! Her head should be the first to roll if this decision goes against Scotland!

For eight years the SNP has collected mandates and election victories from the Scottish people and done nothing with this great bounty of support. Nicola Sturgeon has spent more time ‘eliminating’ threats to her dominion inside her Party and Scotland than freeing us from the abusive corrupt union!

Traipsing around England for three years trying to overturn the democratic will of the English people over Brexit was pointless, undemocratic and downright stupid. It also wasted the most fertile conditions for independence as she waited and waited and delayed and delayed.

How much valuable time, effort and money has been lost promoting the Queer Theory of Stonewall and Mermaids? What difference could there be if all that effort, energy and resource had been spent working for independence instead of gender lobbyists and England’s remainers? For starters there would be no Alba Party, no ISP and no division! Independence would also likely already be here!

Was it fear or her inability to think strategically that made her find excuse after excuse to not push for independence? I do not buy the conspiracy theories that somehow MI6 have turned her. Nor do I believe for an instant she was recruited by Brit spooks while still at university. I think the truth is much simpler than that.

A woman with multiple personality disorders and confidence issues was handed a promotion too far. She does not have an ounce of strategic nous in her head. She has also ensured nobody within her inner circle has any either. That would show up her deficiencies to the group and her fragile and doubting ego could not handle that revelation. She has herself admitted to ‘impostor syndrome’ We should learn to believe people when they tell us about themselves. She admits she is not up to the job we should have accepted that when she told us and removed her back then!

I accept she is an impostor. If you honestly face up to it and critique her leadership to list her achievements it is a short list. What has she actually achieved in her eight years of leadership? We can mention baby boxes, tinkering with a few benefit payments then draw a blank. No big ticket social improvements for the people of Scotland, unlike her predecessor’s numerous triumphs. Worst of all no advancement of the independence cause.

Instead of trying to falsely imprison her mentor, she should have had him as her top advisor. She could still have taken all the glory, and he could have given her that strategic nous she and her team lack. Had she done that I reckon we would already be independent, still in EU and no austerity in sight.

Instead, we are likely to be in a worse position on independence after Wednesday than we were on September 19th, 2014. A referendum will be off the table, and a completely new strategy will be required. Here is where strategic nous is needed most.

We have already established neither she or any of her inner cabal have any strategic sense. That means we have a huge problem. When any of the SNP hierarchy talk about Plebiscites they all give the impression they have not researched or identified what it actually entails. Indeed, it seems like they have never had a Cabinet Meeting to discuss their position on or their interpretation of a Plebiscite election. They all give different answers to the same question.

When Nicola speaks on it, she frames it as the SNP must get 50+% of the available seats and 50% +1 of the votes cast. A complete nonsensical and unworkable proposal. It has to be a Scotland United Campaign which involves all independence parties and movements. SNP, Greens, Alba, ISP, SSP. Only by doing this can we hope to succeed. In Sturgeon’s version all the independence votes that go to Greens, Alba, ISP would not count towards the % in favour of independence. Nearly as  stupid as appointing Bain as Lord Advocate.

Trying to use it as a, just one more mandate election will only result in unionists winning more seats at SNP’s expense. You didn’t listen to us in May 2021 at Holyrood elections and Unionists made gains as we warned they would! You didn’t listen this year when you promoted SNP 1-2 and no other party for Council elections. This has resulted in numerous unionist gains of councils. You need to start listening to others!

In the event of a refusal by Supreme Court on Wednesday here is what I believe should happen. Having taken the SNP raison d’etre into an English based Court and a Constitutional cul de sac with no turning circle. Should the case be lost there is only one honourable course of action for the person that took this decision. Nicola Sturgeon needs to resign and a new leader quickly appointed by the SNP. This will be difficult for some to accept however, it is what is best for Scotland.

That new leader must immediately call a Constitutional Convention of all our elected Parliamentarians in both Westminster and Holyrood. The Local Authority Council leaders and civic Scotland too must be involved. This forum should then formulate the way forward for the nations democratic will to be met. Claim of Right, UDI, withdrawing from Treaty of Union, Plebiscite all must be discussed and a winning formula and strategy deployed.

  • Not about to commence backing a loser – and that, precisely, is what the current First Minister (and the cabal of sycophants which surround her..) happens to be; oh, yes, elections, mandates, all to the rest of it, won, and won well, here in Scotland, one after another – 8 years worth – but when push comes to shove, THEY DO NOT HAVE THE COJONES TO DELIVER INDEPENDENCE FOR, TO, AND ON BEHALF OF THE SCOTTISH PEOPLE. Not any more complicated than that..

Declaration of Arbroath means sweet FA to the current hierarchy..

    • The misery Scotland faces is entirely Nicola Sturgeon fault, I’d rather wait ten years for Independence than keep Sturgeon another minute as FM.

      • No the misery is a Tory Brexit and Truss crashing the economy, You won’t live to see indy if your waiting for Alba .

  • The failing of Scotland not being Independent and not back in the EU is entirely down to the FM and the SNP.
I personally believe it pointless to protest at the supreme court ruling when, the Gold standard is exactly what Surgeon wanted and has now got. I’d hope when Alba joins these protests all over Scotland there’s a call for Nicola Sturgeon to resign as FM and leader of the SNP.

There was no reason other than self-interest on the part of the FM, she alone has chosen the course of action in which Scotland has travelled. She also chose not to put aside bad feelings and work with other pro-Indy parties so that in May’s election 2021, to have a super majority, had she done this it would have put beyond doubt any UKG or PM refusing a referendum.
If any pro-Indy party does not call for the resignation of Nicola Sturgeon as a result of all the failed court cases and her time in government, then all these other parties are doing is endorsing Nicola and her leadership over the last 8yrs, which in my opinion would be putting the cat amongst the pigeons and all we would be doing is having the same old 8yrs being played out again but with different a scenario.

I for one have no intention of protesting to endorse Sturgeon who’s the cause of Scotland misery.

    • Isn’t the gold standard what Salmond also asked for, and only got because Westminster knew he would lose.

  • What you have said above I have been saying since the nusnp left me
Sturgeon is not a strategist and is quite gutless but she is also an echo chamber ie from those that surround her in her inner circle
No matter the result tomorrow Scotland loses.

  • Let’s face reality. They will not resign, they are too brass-necked to even admit they are wrong. The can of carrots will be rolled down the road again and the sheep will trot happily after it. She is not just ill-equipped, ill-advised and absent of any strategic vision, she must have been compromised, or at very least subsumed by the Genderatti. I think there are brit state shenanigans at play, and watch how protected she will be until the very last minute possible, then simply thrown under the next bus with full MSM onslaught. For now, they will tick the clock down for another few years while doing everything in their power to split us down into smaller groups and demoralise our movement. There has to be another way. We cannot wait for the SNP to clean house, it is way too rat-infested. A sham referendum would probably suit them all, so I hope that does not happen.

    • Linkages between Sturgeon’s inner circle and the British Security State are difficult to establish because a surrogate or cut-out has been applied. Rather than looking for the fingerprints of MI5, we should be should be examining known connections to the US State Department.

Humza Yousaf and Jenny Gilruth are graduates of the State Department’s International Visitors Leadership Program.
There is nothing inherently sinister in either Yousaf or Gilruth having participated in the IVLP, others (Kezia Dugdale, Patrick Harvey, Ross Thompson) were recipients of the State Department’s largesse.
What’s interesting are the details where Yousaf and Gilruth are concerned.
From Yousaf’s Wiki: “In 2008, whilst working as an aide, Yousaf took part in the IVLP programme, an exchange that is run by the US State Department.” That’s right, in his second year as a humble aide, Yousaf was recognised by the US State Department as a “future leader”.
School teacher, Gilruth was in Washington as part of an IVLP delegation on 9th July 2016. That’s 35 working days after being sworn in as a rookie MSP.
If those two don’t strike you as State Department plants, I have a Nigerian Prince you should meet.

Angela Crawley and Patrick Grady were also present in Washington on 9th July 2016. Crawley and Grady are members of the British American Parliamentary Group and as such are uniquely and mysteriously exempt from reporting State Department gratuities on their HoC register of interests. Despite their efforts to conceal their presence in the USA, Crawley and Grady were confirmed as also being on the IVLP trip (impressive detective work from Caltonjock).

The trip worked wonders for Crawley’s career prospects. Politics graduate Crawley is (as of 01/02/21, same day Joanna Cherry QC was sacked) Shadow Attorney General for the SNP at Westminster. Get this, Crawley obtained a LLB Degree in Law from the University of Glasgow AFTER she became a MP. A Shadow Attorney General that’s never practiced law! Truly we live in an age of wonder.

Stewart McDonald MP, Spokesperson for Defence, attended the Woodrow Wilson International Centre for Scholars for a “Defeating Disinformation Workshop” (3rd – 9th Feb. 2020). The WWICfS is a de facto adjunct of the State Department.

McDonald is one third of the tres amigos of the NeoCon apocalypse at Westminster (the other two being John Nicolson and Alyn Smith).

Nicolson, recipient of a Kennedy Scholarship to Harvard University, cut his professional teeth as a speech writer for Democratic Senator Daniel Moynihan.

All in all, this mafia of the mediocre rocket through the ranks from their well earned obscurity after they’re touched by the magic hand of the State Department.

Here’s a curious statistic. Take the seven elected Scottish politicians known to be alumni of the State Department’s IVLP, add the tres amigos listed above, that’s ten names. Only Yousaf is heterosexual. These people work to an old playbook.

Sturgeon, Yousaf, Gilruth, Nicolson and McDonald are connected to the John Smith Centre for Public Service. The management and Board of the JSCfPS have myriad connections to the Anglo-American Security State. The Chair of the JSCfPS (Catherine Smith) was even a covert employee of the State Department, although she tries rather clumsy to obscure that fact.

In all its years of existence, the Scottish Government controlled, Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator has never published accounts for the JSCfPS (as required by law). Funding of the JSCfPS remains a well protected secret.

None of this is to imply that Sturgeon was herself “recruited” by the State Department at the behest of MI5. Rather that Sturgeon’s multiple character flaws, personality disorders and insecurities give fertile raw material for manipulation by trained and experienced “case officers”.

So, what’s in it for the State Department? Simply put, it’s quid pro quo, standard operating procedure. Remember wee Simon Bracey-Lane from the Institute for Statecraft “volunteering to work for Bernie Sanders” during the US Primary against that deep state ghoul Hillary Clinton.

  • That time of the year; it never fails – and it sure won’t fail this time, either.. To what do I refer..? 30th November – St.Andrew’s Day..

All of the heid bummers within the hierarchy of the SNP will give it laldy as per normal, talking about ‘historic day, patron saint of Scotland’, etc, etc – and then, monotonous regularity being the order of the day, finish off with ‘any chance we could have some of your money, could we interest you in participating in the Party’s yearly grand raffle to raise funds..?’

The big and very obvious answer to that particular question is not merely ‘no’ – but ‘why..?’ Funds..? What for purpose..? To waste..? To offer a pay increase to a mind-numbingly stupid, entirely out-of-touch SpAd – who’s probably already on about £40K a year ( and the rest.. ) to provide our beloved First Minister with increasing amounts of worthless, pointless, entirely irrelevant nonsense, guff, and tripe..? In short, SpAd’s are a complete and utter waste of time, effort, money, oxygen, and space..

Or maybe said funds will just go the way of all of such funds – a good old knees-up at Bute House, courtesy of mugs daft enough to take part in the aforementioned raffle..? For a racing certainty, said funds will NOT be deployed in pursuit of the ONLY political cause worth a damn at this point in Scotland’s history: Independence; don’t be a Silly Billy..

  • You hit the nail on the head, BB. It is time to take Scotland out of the British field of influence and start to take our future seriously. There has been no real alternative, although we have had to try everything to come to this point, from 2014 onwards but to institute UDI and present a case to the UN/International Court based on a one-sided, illegal interpretation of the Treaty of Union/CoR, etc. by England and by England as the UK. Nothing else can be done now. Devolution spiked our guns as it was intended to do and there is, in reality, no route of the Union except by UDI and our case at the UN. We have played the British State game to its conclusion and all there is ahead of us is a cul-de-sac. As a sovereign people, trampled upon as the result of the deliberately unequal Union, we have the right to go, no supermajority required, only a ratifying referendum. We need to stop thinking in terms of the UK and devolution and start thinking about what can be done if we have the nerve and the courage to take our destiny into our own hands.

    • Lorna , do explain to me why you think the Union is “unfair” to Scotland when our own SNP Scottish Government publish themselves that our 8.1% population of the UK is currently receiving 9.2% of the whole UK spending budget , can you explain to me why you think that is unfair ? Or is the issue that you have a problem how the SNP’s own calculated and published numbers work ? Either way it deserves a proper explanation from you, but will your controlling Puppet Master Roddy allow you do do that for yourself without trying to control you ?

      https://www.msn.com/en-gb/money/other/independent-scotland-could-face-bigger-cuts-to-spending-and-higher-tax-rises-than-rest-of-uk/ar-AA133h3z?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=641fc9d4deff48d18f9deb948a70c3a6

      • Joe, I didn’t use the word, ‘unfair’. If you can explain to me why a country the size of England with the population it has, has the smallest deficit, with Scotland, Wales and NI together carrying the greatest burden on populations a tenth or less of England’s, I’ll try and explain to you how it works. The GERS are unreliable. If they were not, they simply would not be published. They were the work of one, Iain Lang, Tory, to keep the Scots under the thumb, and he admitted it at the time. Incidentally, Roddy does not control me; that’s just plain silly. None of this in any way explains why the SC of the UK has interpreted the Acts (domestic legislation) to represent the Union, when the Union was created by the Treaty, under international law.

Without all the levers of power, no country could possibly realise its potential.

        • “The GERS are unreliable. If they were not, they simply would not be published. They were the work of one, Iain Lang, Tory, to keep the Scots under the thumb, and he admitted it at the time”

Wow I’m amazed to see you parroting Wings own propaganda whereas Alex Salmond himself and the SNP led Scottish Government themselves say differently on the Scot Gov website themselves , no wonder we are so mixed up as a nation.
          ” Q: Who produces GERS?
A: GERS is produced by Scottish Government statisticians. It is designated as a National Statistics product, which means that it is produced independently of Scottish Ministers and has been assessed by the UK Statistics Authority as being produced in line with the Code of Practice for Statistics. This means the statistics have been found to meet user needs, to be methodologically sound, explained well and produced free of political interference.” You can find this on the SNP Scot Govs own Website here on the Question and answers section near the lower half of the page if you have not seen it before ? https://www.gov.scot/publications/government-expenditure-revenue-scotland-gers-2021-22/pages/1/

A whole Holyrood Finance Committee with Scottish MSP’s as well as a respected Nationalist Economist can also be seen here giving the GERs numbers a clean Bill of Health too are you seriously suggesting you are better informed than all those SNP and other MSP’s and Economists at that meeting ? https://youtu.be/Ee0442kULmg?t=3878
The SNP themselves have owned the GERS numbers since 2007 when they were elected into Holyrood they spent 6 years changing them to their own preferred design before actually choosing their own designed GERS numbers for the basis for their own White Paper Scotland’s Future (its marked on the front Cover) yet you didn’t know this ? All the SNP’s own changes to the GERs numbers can be seen on the Scot Govs own document back up website here https://webarchive.nrscotland.gov.uk/20191010063153/https://www2.gov.scot/Topics/Statistics/Browse/Economy/GERS/Methodology Who did you think were making changes to the GERS numbers between 2007 and 2014 if not for the SNP themselves ? The evidence is there for all to see.

          • My god you are colonised and not at all bright. All the unionist tropes that were exposed and destroyed in 2014 you are still trying to peddle them. It shows there is no positive case for the failed British Union. You lot cannot even name 3 things that can only be achieved by the British Union that cannot be achieved by an Independent Scotland. All you have is lies distortions and scaremongering,

          • The GERS can be worked out only on what is provided by Whitehall. How on earth could a devolved administration be able to tease out all revenues, all taxes, etc. that accrue to Scotland without all the relevant data about the UK as a whole? I don’t doubt for a moment that Alec Salmond is right to say that the GERS are worked out in Scotland by the SG. Of course they are. However, the GERS for any particular year cannot give the whole picture; if it was that easy, we could see what accrues to England from the UK pot, and, albeit there is an English GERS, it, no more that the Scottish one, is able to show us conclusively what is drawn from where and how it is allocated and woven throughout the fabric of the UK. For example, since the seat of government is in London, it stands to reason that most infrastructural capital projects in and emanating from London will be allocated not to England, but to UK revenues, to which we all contribute.

Also, GERS is worked out in present conditions, and allows for no future projections as an independent state would have to make, and would have to adjust its growth pattern accordingly. In a federal situation, it would be easier to work out all revenues and outgoings, etc., but we are not in a federal situation; we are in a devolved situation which is entirely different. Are you saying that having all the oil revenues (which we would have negotiated much more stringently that Westminster did) would not have been a bonus that could have kept us afloat in a recession or downturn? A country with just over five million people as opposed to a state with sixty million? If we are such a burden, then rUK can let us go tomorrow.

  • Not only was it foolish to send it to the Supreme court it was even more treacherous to send it to court in the hands of a British nationalist to argue Scotland case. I can feel the knife in my back and the F*cking idea I’m going to protest outside for Scotland cause when Sturgeon remains leader of the SNP, I may as well keep the knife in my back. I’d rather go outside and pull down my Saltire than endorse sturgeon to remain as FM, when she is entirely to blame, make no mistake my fellow Scots she’s refused to allow any person or party to get involved and god knows she needs direction even if it’s from a set of traffic lights.

  • I’ve a horrible feeling they will say Yes because they know Sturgeon will f**k it up. (Her seecret plan all along). Any chance of indy will be gone for generations.

    • Well they clearly said No , no surprise really as it was already written in the Scotland Act 2016 that both Alex and Nicola both signed , the whole situation just arose from the SNP designing a way out for themselves to not having to pursue Independence but to create a campaign to help them stay in power and that campaign will be designed to be one to try to get as many people not voting for Alba but going back to Vote for the SNP, it will not be a true campaign for Independence but a campaign to keep the SNP as the main party and in control of Scotland’s gullible electorate who continue to think the SNP actually care about Independence rather then actually only caring about themselves and their Westminster paid expense accounts.

  • “Westminster is sovereign and not the Scottish people”

Westminster is sovereign because that’s where the representatives of the people are sent to make our laws. The argument wasn’t “Are the people sovereign or is Westminster” it was “Is the King sovereign or are the people”!

England, like Scotland, decided the people are sovereign and we exercise that sovereignty by sending our elected representatives to Westminster!!

We shouldn’t even be discussing this pish , what should be happening is we should be DEMANDING sturgeon and her morons resign

I have to ask WTAF are the justiciary doing ALLOWING this to be presented to the english designed supreme court , as stated and documented in the TOU english law has no bearing in Scotland , Scotland has a completely separate legal system as sturgeon the betrayer is fully aware of as she is a trained Scots lawyer who cannot practice in england without passing their bar

Are the legal profession in Scotland not ashamed that they are continuously being cowed and disrespected by their betters , are they happy that the Scottish government are openly and wantonly demeaning and denigrating them and their profession by taking Scottish legal decisions to an english court with english lawyers making decisions about Scots Law

Have they no pride or integrity in their profession , do they feel INFERIOR to these english lawyers and english law , is the Scottish Legal system just like the Scottish Parliament a kiddy on legal system where the english let them PLAY at being lawyers and judges but if there are important decisions to be made or laws to be made england will make them

Sturgeon WM and the supreme court are not only treating Scots as second class citizens they are treating our laws and judicial system with utter contempt and derision , are our legal profession craven cowards who will not or cannot DEMAND this matter must immediately leave the SC and be presented to the SCOTTISH COURTS as ONLY they can determine the legality of the proposal

  • Even for the fact that at this crucial stage in Scottish democracy the rest of the UK have had their 2021 census and reported on it; whereas ours was a year late, controversially worded, and still nothing reported, this FM needs to be fired.

Not knowing the demographic makeup of Scotland at this crucial time is as ridiculous as DB presenting a case for independence to Tony Blair’s supreme Court. With no bill attached.

FM is a dud that needs to be fired.

    • They will publish it once the GRA reform bill has passed into law, Tom. Otherwise we would know just how many ‘trans’ people there actually are and how the legislation is likely to expand that number. Likewise, they don’t want us knowing how many people from furth of Scotland there are here in case we start to understand that most of them will never vote for independence in any referendum – ever.

  • Why at all are we asking this question of a London Court.

We have a mandate in both Hollyrood and Westminster. It is utterly bizzare.

Like the USA asking Britain if it could have permission to ask itself the question of whether it wanted to continue as a colony.

Shows just how much of a traitorous undermining individual Surgeon and her clique is.

    • “Why at all are we asking this question of a London Court.” because its a pan UK wide supreme court with a make up of Scottish , English , Welsh and Northern Irish Senior Judges in Law. Judges from Countries in the UK who also have Independence Campaigns , the fact that the Supreme court “sits” in London which just happens to be the Capital of the UK is neither here nor there https://www.supremecourt.uk/about/biographies-of-the-justices.html

      • I’m afraid I have to agree with you, Matthew. We had the chance to refuse this court but the legal profession, politicians and almost every Unionist didn’t give a toss. It should have been, and was by some, recognised for what it was and is. We passed on the chance to give the powers back to the Court of Session, in Scotland. Nobody else quite shoots us in the foot like we do ourselves. We are past masters at it.

  • The Scottish people are sovereign in Scotland but in the overall UK all people in the UK are sovereign quite apart from the fact that the law is the law and issues to do with Consitutional issues were clearly stated in the Scotland Act 2016 that both Alex and Nicola both signed …didn’t they read it first ?

      • Why not just read the Scotland Act for yourself Roddy and stop making a foll of yourself , it was made very clear in that document that Constitutional issues where not the remit of the Scottish Parliament , we all know that both Alex Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon both signed that Document , so didn’t they bother read it first before they put their signatures to it ? Or are you trying to say they didn’t understand what they put their own signatures too ?

        • More nonsense from unionist interlopers. Neither Sturgeon or Salmond were in office when tge Scotkand Office agreed tge Scotland Act among. Unionist cabal. Begone fool

  • On Wednesday morning the Supreme Court in London, England, will give its verdict on Scottish democracy. Nothing we do or say now will alter that decision.

You mean a very successful Advocate who admits being an Indy supporter who votes SNP and who took a large wage cut to take on the role as the SNP’s own tame poodle Lord Advocate ? That’s too funny, why try to make up so much BS to lie to your own controlled readership with ? Prove to me that I am wrong !!! 🙂 https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/dorothy-bain-swallowed-75-pay-cut-to-become-lord-advocate-jsnrkd68s

    • Liar, she is no indy supporter, the exact opposite and she never admitted any such thing. Does it never cross your unionist minds that lies are required by you as a defence against the inevitable ending of your corrupt union?

  • In what sort of Fantasy World do you live where you think the whole SNP party would have allowed the LA Job to be handed to a Unionist where previously it has always been handed to SNP insiders for as long as the SNP has been in power ?
