This week’s show almost named itself. The biggest political event of the week by a country mile. We had to remain cognizant of the contempt laws while ensuring we brought you our views of this monumental event. The panel of Eva Comrie, Lloyd Quinan and special guest Sally Hughes all gave us their views on this unfolding story. All were in agreement that this is most likely not the end of Operation Branchform. There are lots of pieces to fall into place before this saga is over.We discuss how this might impact upon the SNP and the independence movement/campaign.
This certainly wasn’t the best ever week for the SNP Scottish Government as banana skin after banana skin was stood upon. Their refusal to make a ministerial statement on the Cass Review not only upset many of the elected members it has infuriated the general public too. This and their refusal to contemplate closing down the Sandyford Clinic are just two more decisions that exposes the rift between the SNP and their supporters and possible voters.
Just to emphasise their new raison d’etre the proposed Misogyny Bill is to cover males too! It seems our SNP/Green Government not only failed biology at school, they must have failed in English too!

If things seemed bleak the SNP decided to double down and cancelled their 2030 Climate Change Targets. At the time of COPS 2018 it had been one of those famous Sturgeon ” Today, I can exclusively reveal…’ moments. You remember where she promises something to gain applause or deflect from troubles but never intended to follow through upon. A Constitutional Convention, a National Energy Company, a free laptop and bike for every child. A no ifs, no buts Independence Referendum.
This week Humza Yousaf also announced that voting for the Greens, Alba, ISP or I4I could possibly split the independence vote. (Actually he ignored the latter two such is his contempt for the Independence movement.) What he really meant is, it could stop his SNP gravy train slurpers winning some seats and his party getting the colonisers short money bribe.
The indy vote never splits, it may go to other candidates that are in favour of independence that is not splitting the vote. That is sharing the vote. It is something entirely different which Mr Yousaf seems incapable of working out for himself. Besides he and his Party were the ones that rejected a Scotland United campaign, nobody else! They cannot start complaining now!
To round off their disastrous week Angela Constance announced that the Scottish Government plan to scrap juries from the Scottish Judicial System was being shelved until at least the last quarter of 2028. The panel had to ask is there anything this government can do that doesn’t end in failure?

On the splitting the vote point I fear it is you who doesn’t grasp the impact of there being multiple indy candidates in constituencies across Scotland.
Where in the past the SNP attracted the indy vote and won seats, if in the coming elections that vote is redirected to one of several indy candidates then an opposition, unionist candidate would, by maintaining their historic voter base get in. It may be that if the unionists vote tactically then the ‘backed unionist’ will gain seats with a (false but telling) majority.
That is the effect of splitting the vote.
Fewer indy elected representatives!
Yes you might add together the votes for indy candidates to show a majority in favour of independence but you won’t have winning candidates.

The screw-ups have been home-grown and nurtured, folk, and, if anything, the British state will be honking in applause at not having to waste resources on these plonkers because they do it to themselves.
The response to the Cass Review was breathtakingly stupid. It has been announced that there will be a suspension to puberty blockers, etc. The UKG would have had to step in again had this not been done. They seem to think that the public will become outraged at UKG ‘arrogance’ when common sense should tell you that that would have no choice where legislation in Scotland or the ignoring of UK legislation would lead to adverse outcomes elsewhere in the UK. Until we grow a spine and vote for and achieve independence, the UKG has the right of it, I’m afraid.
You are all right in that it is going to take a full-blown public inquiry – speeded up – to get Stonewall out of every institution, but also to make it plain to its adherents that they will lose their jobs if the continue to try and indoctrinate the public, particularly our children and youth. This should become an offence or, better still, make use of the Common Law and extend it to encompass indoctrination in schools, etc., as a crime. Easily done. Could be done tomorrow.
It was said a couple of years back that the SNP had recruited new graduates in law. Where are they? Who taught them? Every university in Scotland used to boast men and women of integrity, vast practical experience and wholly steeped in broad Scottish culture to teach young people the law? Everyone who graduated, did so well-steeped in law, yes, but also in the jurisprudential, practical and philosophical applications of Scots Law, updated regularly where necessary, and based in very long-established Scottish principles. Why was Dame Helena Kennedy chosen to lead the Misogyny Bill? She has no right of appearance in the Scottish courts, to my knowledge, and she is notoriously ‘woke’. That is why she was chosen.
I’m not disabled like Eva, but I have had to renegotiate my life following cancer and the side effects of chemo and radium treatments. Not blaming anyone. Just makes life harder. Much harder. What it has taught me is that loos for women, and access to disabled loos, which I have to use, is not a lifestyle choice, but an absolute necessity. Women have to queue for the loos at every event venue, and many places are excellent, but still cannot cope with the long queues for the female facilities. This is a fact of life that Humza and his minions either never considered or id not give a toss about at all when they decided to open up all our spaces to ‘trans’ identified men. We need safety, dignity and privacy, and allowing men into our private spaces is such an insult as to be quite beyond understand unless they are all misogynists.
Sally is so right: the ratio of ‘trans’ anything, in criminal terms, to women is so minuscule that it is almost negligible. To include ‘trans’ identified men in the Misogyny Bill is to kick females when they are already down, and it will not be forgiven by women who are not slavering handmaids.
The Denton’s Document shows plainly how Stonewall infiltrated all public and many private institutions, and a FoI is now necessary to establish just how much money Stonewall and its Scottish arms suck up out of public finance annually and what the money is used for because it is certainly not used to provide obvious services for ‘trans’ identified people of either biological sex.
When you look at the Hate Crime Act and the Misogyny Bill, you start to understand that misogyny cannot apply to males for a very good reason: if misogyny applies only to ‘females’ – and it does because it is misandry for males – then we are being asked to accept that ‘trans’ identified males are ‘women’ IN LAW. That translates as self-ID when it was voted down in Holyrood. We can begin to see that the GRA 2004, the GRRB (which fell), the Hate Crime legislation and the Misogyny Bill, taken together as a series, will introduce self-ID in Scotland because they must in order for ‘trans’ identified males to be considered as ‘women’ IN LAW, as they will be under the Misogyny Bill. Not just the ones with a GRC, but ALL of them.
In that case, the 2010 Equality Act protections become unworkable, as does the Forstater Ruling because they come up against the legal definition of ‘woman’ for every other legal application. Not a slippery slope; we will have tumbled into the Stonewall-created Scottish abyss. Has Humza and his handmaids considered the implications? The stream of ‘trans’ identified males who will see Scotland as a safe haven if this stuff is passed? I’d bet Stonewall, LGBT Youth Scotland and all the other tentacles of that beast, have. Strength in numbers, folks. Strength in numbers, sensible women of Scotland. Two can play that game.
