Following his exchange with Rishi Sunak MP at Prime Minister’s Questions today (Wednesday) ALBA Westminster Leader and MP for Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath Neale Hanvey said:
“The Prime Minister has shown himself to be a serial blunderer.
“He fails to understand the difference between Scotland’s oil and gas industry and our massive offshore wind resources which are being sent south. He also fails to understand the distinction between ALBA’s continuing support for our oil and gas workers and the SNP’s abandonment of this key sector.
“I asked the Prime Minister about the naked exploitation of Scotland’s massive offshore wind resources which will see 124 billion kilowatts of energy sent south by 2030, enough to power tens of millions of homes, with no revenue, no manufacturing and no supply chain jobs coming to Scotland.
“The Prime Ministers failure to understand let alone answer this question is yet another reason why we need Independence to put an end to Westminster’s robbery of Scotland’s offshore wind energy resources.”

Aye Roddy, I watched Neale Hanvey ask his question today at PMQ’s, delivering statistics highlighting the spectre of a grand larceny of Scotland’s natural resources, whilst the vast majority of SNP MP’s sat in silence which to all intents and purposes equated to ignorant indifference!
Neale Hanvey. Someone who knows why he is at Westminster. To stand up for Scotland and get our independence.
The English Tories have an easy time of it these days sitting opposite an army of fighting Scots who have morphed into a gathering of contented, overfed, overweight, satisfied Scots. Only 2 Alba men to fear.
Sadly true
Kudos to Neale. Westminster will of course ignore him. It’s not Neale’s fault. The only thing Westminster and the unionists within will notice is Scotland’s absence. Until our independence is regained we must cease sending our pro independence politicians down to London to be insulted and ignored. Show the rest of the world just how undemocratic and anti Scottish Westminster and the union really are.
In his presentation Neale Hanvey provides data on electric power generation, Sunak replies in oil and gas terms, how very English of Sunak, deflect. And what is the Speaker’s role – to require Sunak to answer the subject matter?
As Sunak responded with his deflection response ideally the Scots MPs should have walked out – I wish.
