With each new opinion poll both the Independence and SNP vote seems to be slipping. The last several polls have shown that SNP is unlikely to get a majority in the constituencies seats despite the Alba Party bolstering their chances with their positive #bothvotesyes campaigning. The recent polls have also shown the SNP is unlikely to win a single List seat! Think on that as, Nicola tells you to vote for her twice. She is doing that knowing she won’t win any List seats. However, if enough of you listen to her, she can reduce pro independence Alba victories. The fact that it will increase the unionist presence at Holyrood makes no difference to the Leader of the Independence movement it seems. Nicola before independence!
On Friday, Stu Campbell, Wings Over Scotland produced one of his excellent well researched pieces showing the steady erosion of the Independence and SNP votes since February. This coincides with Sturgeon giving her very dodgy evidence to the Fabiani Inquiry. It seems this was the trigger for voters to lose trust in Sturgeon and her party. Her insistence and that of her followers that the SNP alone own the independence cause has resulted in those in favour of Independence decreasing in the same timescale. It again just highlights her lack of strategic competence. Many of the new recruits to Alba Party have also said this was the catalyst for their disillusionment to both Sturgeon and the SNP. https://wingsoverscotland.com/we-have-a-problem/
True to form the devout followers of Nicola Sturgeon quickly found someone else to blame for the falling numbers. The culprits as usual were Alex Salmond, The Alba Party and all pro independence Media and bloggers. The constant negative campaigning by Sturgeon and her cronies was never a contender to receive any blame. Her lack of urgency on Scottish independence was of course, never offered up as a reason the pro independence cause is suffering and slipping back. According to these devotees the rise in independence numbers between December 2019 and February 2021 were solely down to Nicola Sturgeon as were the rises in Welsh independence and Irish reunification no doubt. While Wales and Ireland keep on an upward trajectory only in Scotland is the tide turning south. This, it was all down to Nicola it seems does not apply as the numbers drop, someone or something else must take Sturgeon’s blame, it is the Sturgeon devotees way!
It hasn’t yet penetrated the devoted pea brains of her fan club that her entire election campaign has been negative. It is solely about attacking the pro independence Media, the pro independence Alba Party, the pro independence Alex Salmond. She has even attacked the very concept of independence itself during this campaign. She wants Covid and the effects of Covid and Brexit on the economy ended before even considering turning her attention towards independence. Putting that into layman’s terms, she thinks Scotland is better letting Boris Johnson and his Tory Mafia fix the economy post Covid and Brexit. This displays that she has little or no confidence in Scotland being able to handle these two devastating events as an Independent nation.
Is it any wonder that if the defacto leader of the Independence movement doesn’t think it would be better to be independent to tackle these problems, that the public is losing confidence in the SNP and Independence? An 18 point drop in the SNP lead at Holyrood since February. The only culprits the devoted can find to shift the blame on to is those of us that are writing pro independence articles, another party that is promoting their party and the man that led us to our only ever independence referendum. This is all to protect a leader that in six years as head of the SNP has not done a single thing to advance the cause of independence! Facing reality is very difficult for some it seems.
Till now when the devoted have been challenged they pointed to the opinion polls. That no longer applies so instead they point the blame at everyone and everything else instead of the main culprit, The Devolution Diva, Sturgeon!
So, while Sturgeon demeans independence and the only other independence party in this election the Unionists are able to regroup. The real threats to her party, namely the Greens and the Unionists are being allowed to erode her vote with no counter argument from her or her party. The SNP is too busy attacking The Alba Party of Independence to attack the British parties. It is not only counter-productive for the SNP. It is downright stupid!
Using the British Anti-Scottish Independence MSM and Broadcasters, Sturgeon has relentlessly attacked Alex Salmond,The Alba Party, the defence witnesses and the jury verdict at his trial. She has never acknowledged that she and her government have acted irresponsibly. This is despite Lord Pentland’s damning judgement at the Judicial Review, unfair, unlawful and tainted with apparent bias. A Bill to the tax payers of over Β£1million+ and still not a single sign of the smallest piece of contrition by Sturgeon. She really does believe her own publicity. I unapologetically give you The Irish Times version of the Judicial Review events. The UK MSM is not to my liking. I have not overlooked they are a danger to Scotland’s Independence, unlike Sturgeon I will never make common cause with the Anti-Scottish MSM. https://www.irishtimes.com/news/world/uk/scottish-government-admits-salmond-investigation-was-tainted-1.3751129
Her own tame Fabiani Inquiry found the evidence so overwhelming even they couldn’t find enough whitewash to completely exonerate the First Minister. They had to conclude that she had in fact misled everyone over the events of her meetings with Alex Salmond and his representatives. That remarkable conclusion amounts to an accusation Sturgeon misled parliament β but the committee has stopped short of ruling she did so βknowingly.β Knowingly misleading parliament would be a clear breach of the ministerial code and a resignation matter. That was all that saved her, the framing of the reality she lied! They have spun it out of existence, fortunately we are not constrained by the same loyalties or parliamentary niceties, the reality is Sturgeon is a liar.
This election is the most important one in the short life of our reconvened Parliament. I maintain now that if Nicola Sturgeon and the Green Party had stuck to their supposed core raison d’etre of Independence and Environmental issues those two parties would be looking at a 90+ Super majority of their own. There would be no Alba Party, no ISP, no AFI, no Scotia Future, no divided Yes Movement, no angry pro independence media. We would be on the road to independence and creating a better Scotland for everyone including the 0.04% of the population these two parties have turned all their attentions to.
Sturgeon’s latest outburst deploying the Labour Party’s Bain Principle against the Alba Party is likely to drive the SNP and Independence numbers even lower. Throughout his entire ordeal Alex Salmond has maintained a dignified silence towards Nicola Sturgeon and the SNP. Not once has he uttered a single bad comment towards either. She, on the other hand, has never stopped her vicious nasty attacks. On Saturday, Alex wrote to Nicola Sturgeon urging her to withdraw this threat to boycott independence because of her petty and ridiculous behaviour, it doesn’t damage Alba or Alex it damages Scotland’s Independence cause.

It has been a constant theme of the Alba haters that the Alba party is all about Alex Salmond and his ego. See if you can spot independence or Vote SNP anywhere on Nicola’s two buses? The devotees say to me. You hate Nicola and the SNP! Not true, I hold her in utter contempt for the damage she has done to the party and movement. I deplore that she has split the YES Movement and done nothing to promote Independence in her entire tenure as leader. However, on Thursday I will be voting SNP in the Constituency. I always put Scotland before personalities or any policies, how about you?
On Thursday 6th, May Vote SNP in the Constituency and Alba Party in the Regional List. Scotland’s Independence is all that matters, nothing else!
Saor Alba gu brath.

With independence we must make sure our future leaders are unable to cheat and lie while remaining in office – as Nicola Sturgeon has managed and is managing to do.
I have have to say I despise her.
I completed my postal vote days ago and followed Alex’s advice – SNP1 ALBA2 – but it was difficult. I had to keep reminding myself of the decent SNP politicians remaining in the Party.
We must not forget the wonderful Laurie Flynn, who was in South Africa to welcome Mandela when he took office. I only hope he comes home to welcome our new Prime Minister of Scotland. Without Laurie there would wouldn’t be an ALBA PARTY. His initial idea and creation has saved Scotland.
I keep asking people who call Alex Salmond “egotistical” for a shred of evidence. No one can show me anything. But I remember when he was leader, Independence was about Scotland. Under Nicola Sturgeon, it’s about Nicola Sturgeon. He was building a democracy. She and her husband as Chief Executive have turned it into a royal dynasty.
“SNP”? NSP.
Hi, thank you for that post. I agree on all of this. Right now … I am scared !!
Voting Alba 2 is the only way to have a real Indy pro Independence Parliament majority, no doubt about that. I understand as well that there is another collateral will that is for me welcomed but, but is now really the time to put pressure on new snp and start thinking of getting rid of NS and co ? By patting ourselves on the back rightly, exposing the failures, we are adding the pile on the selfharming new snp inflicts to itself and i am scared that is not going to play in the Indy mouvement favor. New snp and NS has it all wrong, NEC, trial, stubborness, incompetence, lake of vision. Not seeing that she should had struck a deal with the pseudo Indy party the Greens to protect and increase the sn constituency seats and increase the the Greens list vote was a mistake. That would have been for that time and even if it was kind of forced, enough to secure the Indy super majority in Parliament. Alba, you guys bloggers and us all, even though not responsible for NS failures to keep the Mouvement united has responsabilities in the new snp decline too. I do think that exposing new snp failures is of course the right thing to do. But what wil be the cost ? There is no good action if it is not the right time and i really don’t know if it is ? I am very scared and will be until the 7th, not that Alba won’t score but that what we are doing day in day out for weeks will weaken the new snp that much that the only political vehicle we have after all to get Indy, even if driven now by a clumsy pilot, will not be the Ferrari that we need. I understand too that we might need to gamble and expect that new snp failure would lead to a reshuffle … Reshuffle where some still Snp folk who had choosen to wait and see, would pop up and take the Party back where it should be. Is that the best tactic to get Indy faster ( that is what we all want after all) ? I hope so because what we are doing is right and in accordance with the beliefs that the political stage should be from our side fair, inclusive with no dirty tricks and … accountable. The Graal is bigger than any Party or personnality … Is that really the right time? couldn’t we have waited a bit before putting that spade in the bull’s head ? Next week will tell, i agree the bargain and the consequences whatever they are will be better than waiting for 6 years before another Indy plan but it could be really messy, messy at the point that if we have it our way, snp back in line, those snp supporters in the other end of snp’s political spectrum would, like we are doing now, defect, rebel and weakened the case for Indy. I am scared …
Let us be 100%clear the new media or individuals pointing out the failures of the SNP are in no way responsible for whatever happens to the SNP. They are the masters of their own destiny. Seven opinion polls in a row have indicated the SNP will not win any List Seats. Yet SNP continue to heavily promote bothvotessnp. This is a danger to a pro independence majority and encourages their voters to elect unionists by default.
Is now really the time? Yes. They must see the folly of attacking the cause, the supporters and their own raison d’etre. If they are truly indy then it must be country before party. They must look at the bigger picture and do what is best for Scotland not their party representatives. If Scotland fails to achieve an independence majority especially given this is a defacto indy campaign and not a regular election, the blame for its failure will lie squarely with the SNP who will have deliberately destroyed Scotland. The Thatcher years will look like a picnic compared to what is about to be wrought on Scotland and its people. As for the SNP membership, that will likely decrease even further as a number of its supporters are only lending them support for indy. In 2014 when they had a massive surge of membership I said folk needed to be wary as they would destroy the party from within. This has come to fruition, sadly. Now the burden to resurrect the carcass lies with the old SNP members, who still remain but are dwindling, before it is too late. With less than a week, I think they would need a miracle.
Barrheadboy knows the score!
History wont look kindly on Nicola Sturgeon I’m sure of that, the way I see it Sturgeon is running on inertia now and although it will see her over the line in this election it will run out soon after and her betrayal and treachery will catch up with her and that’s how history will remember her long after baby boxes are forgotten.
Alba are the future, I watched the Alba Women Rising video this morning and it almost brought a tear to my eye to see there exceptional women fighting back, but this is not just their fight all decent men should be solidly behind them this is our fight as well and it’s thanks to the pro indy bloggers like yourself, Stu Campbell, Grousebeater, Iain Lawson, Jeggit, Grumpy Scottish Man etc etc etc getting the message out there in spite of Nicola and her fellow traitors best efforts to shut you all down.
History will reward all of you
