Hundreds of ALBA activists the length and breadth of the country have taken to the streets as part of “ALBA Rising Weekend” in the final weekend of campaigning for the Scottish Election on Thursday 6 May. ALBA are on course to win seats in every region of Scotland and to help achieve the Independence Supermajority which will accelerate Scotland on the path to Independence.
As part of a grassroots campaign which is taking ALBA’s positive message directly to the people, ALBA’s innovative campaign “Digi Van” is touring the country showing campaign videos urging people to vote for ALBA on the List.
Speaking today (Saturday) Lead ALBA Candidate for Central Scotland Tasmina Ahmed Sheikh, who is campaigning across the region said:
“This weekend ALBA is ‘shaking things up’. We are taking to the streets of our communities to urge people to get out on Thursday and vote for ALBA on the list to elect an Independence Supermajority. ALBA is on the cusp of an Electoral Breakthrough which will see ALBA MSPs elected in every region.
“According to the polls a vote for the SNP on the list is a wasted vote in every region which will simply result in more pro Union MSPs being elected. A vote for ALBA on the list will see Independence supporting MSPs elected in every region over and above those SNP MSPs elected in the constituencies.
“ALBA has injected much needed energy and urgency for Independence into this campaign. The story of the final week of the campaign is going to be one of ALBA rising. As our message, that ALBA and only ALBA ,on the list can deliver progress on Independence, so support will continue to rise for ALBA between now and polling day.”
Sadly the SNP has become disconnected from the YES movement. The presentation of Nicola Sturgeon as some form of idol deeply concerns me. The 1984 “Big Brother” PPB scared me. The two campaign buses with giant head shots of the “glorious leader” depressed me. The word Independence is no longer used. The two votes SNP mantra disgusts me for I now see its true purpose – prevent any new Independence Party becoming established. A million wasted votes. She has lost at least half the membership of the SNP in 5 years. She forced through the Hate Bill. She will force through a GRA.
Scotland’s Independence is lost to her Ego.
