For my midweek special I am joined by Ex-Foreign Desk Editor Irish Press, John Moran and Dr Finbar Markey, Phd.
Both these gentlemen are skilled in foreign affairs and bring their expertise to bear upon the Ukraine SMO.
We discuss the origins of this conflict way back to 2004. The Ukraine Civil war of 2014 up until the Russians joined the fray in February last year. Who began this conflict, why and when?
What is the present situation in that troubled area? Who is likely to win this war and why?Are there any peacemakers out there that can bring an end to this needless slaughter? Are we heading for WWIII?
Throughout the discussions the same facts appear again and again. The story of this war you are being told by the corporate western media is pure propaganda, not truth. It has no attachment to the reality. You are being lied to in a way never seen before.
Wars are always about money. It is not about democracy or freedom. It is about resources and minerals and money! Pure unadulterated greed! The bonus is the Military Industrial, Complex has never had it so good!

I travelled with a Russian diplomat/ academic and his interpreter 2 days ago. They see it as a rerun of WWII with American Nazis at the gate. They will fight to the last man and use any means to defend Russia.
They both actually cried when I told them, not everybody in the West supports the American war.
I am glad you enjoyed it. I hope to do more of these kinds of programmes as long as the viewers keep watching.

This not new of course. I would strongly urge folks to read “Hidden History: The Secret Origins of the First World War” by Gerry Docherty and James MacGregor. A real eye-opener. Also their follow up: “Prolonging the Agony”.

This proxy war in Ukraine in Ukraine is a war that the US will not win.
The US hegemony is over. The World is realigning and US power, like British power before it is being usurped.
In fighting a proxy war with Russia the US now threaten that they could do the same with China.
And meanwhile the dollar as the reserve currency collapses as
American debt soars to unbelievable records.
And in Britain, the US’s belligerent coat tails lap dog it has an economy that is absolutely sinking too to the extent that the Bank of England’s chief economist has said people need to accept that they are poorer.
Like the hundreds of millions sacrificed in WW2 the same could happen again but this time only worse.
Currently the Ukraine is being sacrificed. As the US’s proxy they are in a war they will never win. But Ukraine has no choice in this, or at least the people have no choice. They and their country is but cannon fodder.
And the world know this and that is why the ill conceived policy of fighting a proxy war and apllying sanctions after sanctions after sanctions is an absolutely failing policy. The World is realigning against the US and it’s vaasal states and the US will not win.
Technological weaponry now ensures that the US cannot win. They have since the ending of the WW2 played fast and loose with their military excursions. Iraq, Lybia, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Serbia, but have they been successes. Vietnam certainly was not and revealed how the US didn’t have the stomach for military losses.
And with Biden only yesterday threatening to unleash nuclear weapons on North Korea does he really think the world will accept another Nagasaki or Hiroshima to proxy show how tough the US is.
I don’t think that the world will accept this. This time round the US itself will burn like the two Japanese cities.
Altogether a pretty grim situation especially since here in Blighty last Sunday the UK did a UK emergency test broadcast that had all the hallmarks of a nuclear attack warning test. And maybe, just maybe, we shall have the opportunity to die for God, Right and our Country.
In Scotland where we base the nuclear weapons and the hardware to launch them, we can stand proud to do our duty.
And in the meantime we can all accept getting poorer. We’ve a war to fight.

Turbulent times, lets hope Ukraine can join the EU and NATO along with Finland and Sweden, most of Eastern Europe have rejected Putin and his Stalinist view of an imperialistic Russia suppressing Ukrainian identity and imposing russification by military force.. listen to Ukrainians and eastern Europeans like the Polish who bravely helped defeat Hitler and facism and they did not get half the recognition they deserved for doing so.. they rally to Ukrainians cause as they wish to join the family of nations.. perhaps look closer at Russian empire and Putins revanchist aims a dictator if ever there was one imprisoning and poisoning opposition.. Dr Timothy Snyder may be a good place to start in the quest of understanding these complex matters.. Vlad Vexler political philosopher may be useful too as having lived in Russia his insights shouldn’t be dismissed as some nazi American sympathisers,also I’m finding on YouTube ATP Geopolitics and Silicone Curtain much more informative than Scottish Prism on these matters of Ukraine,regretably, as I enjoyed much of your output before you lost your fab rapport with Iain Lawson.. I think the illegal occupation and land grab by Putin breaking all international laws and respect for another nations sovereignty could be more compared to USA Vietnam than it being Americas Suez.. an Imperalistic Russia using the colonial minorities and criminals making up the Wagner group head up by mafiosa style bosses like Prigozhin are some way to spearhead a new world order I must say.. please Roddy these are difficult times for us all don’t be lazy and reproduce Kremlin narrative because it seems to fit how you felt about wars and the Imperalistic nature of empire.. This episode of the prism Roddy was, in the vernacular, ‘the haws’. Listening to John and Finbar and their analysis of the current war being waged against Russia by the West’s proxy in Europe puts perspective on events which is totally absent from that being delivered by *mainstream* media.
Finbar comments on the pressure being applied on the thought processes of the Irish public to abandon neutrality. this in particular from Simon Coveney and an Taoiseach Varadkar is becoming increasingly apparent. The Irish national broadcaster RTE is equally complicit in this anti Russian pro Ukraine/US propaganda and is the antithesis of what is being discussed quite rationally by your guests who must despair at what is being peddled on national airwaves by their fellow countrymen and women, some of whom are even more partisan than the males.
The closing commentary by John should raise concern among Scots as we are very much compromised by the presence of Raytheon Technologies at Glenrothes, Livingston and numerous other locations throughout the UK. Finbar could not be clearer on the threat posed to Scotland through our attachment to the UK, MANDATORY CONSCRIPTION of our youth to engage in warfare at a time and place NOT of their choosing is yet another driver we must enlist in our fight for Independence. I did watch, I watched again incase i had missed something.. I just thought it strange you’d think I’d just offer some comments without having watched.. I think because on this issue of Ukraine we seem to have different perspectives.. you have assumed I didn’t watch.. anyway people must keep talking, I’m not helping here, these are very emotive issues for everyone, i understand.. Ukraine is a money laundering, US vassal state. It has no sovereignty. Ukrainian oligarchs have already sold much of Ukraine’s land to US globalists. Why would the Americans want Ukrainian land?

Excellent discussion Roddy. Finbar and John both highlight the risk after a country becomes independent for it to be run by a corrupt gang that is merely a front for a former (or another) imperial power. Scotland may have made the same mistake had we somehow become independent under the New-SNP. Now we can hopefully avoid that pitfall. In this sense, the shining of a bright spotlight on the compromised New-SNP gang over recent years may have been worthwhile. I suspect not much would have changed in any positive sense in an independent Scotland run by the New-SNP elites, they would still be selling the nation out and handing over our sovereignty, much as they do now as Ministers of the British Crown.

Excellent and enlightening, if a bit worrying. God only knows how long it will take before we reach some kind of tipping-point, as happened with Iraq, where the majority just snap awake and say fuck it, no more of this.
The propaganda from the BBC is exactly the same as it was when this all started, but at least when it kicked off they had a plan, a rough sketch of how it would go, like that Tom Clancy ‘Jack Ryan’ series. (The parallels are just so fuckin obvious it’s insane.) But now that the script hasn’t gone as they were assured it would, they’re winging it. Making it up from one day to the next. You have to wonder if there’s anyone in Broadcasting House who really has the faintest idea what they’re doing.
Aside from you, UKColumn, 20th Century Wire and random clips on Twitter, I’m not aware of any serious discussion of what’s happening. Just wall-to-wall 24/7 propaganda. It’s a fucking disgrace.
Today I read that some of the long-range missiles being deployed to Ukraine were manufactured in North Ayrshire? Haven’t had a chance to investigate. But if true, that will be a multinational company, presumably enjoying tax-breaks of come kind, perhaps from the NAC itself, manufacturing stuff which will be costing a fortune for UK taxpayers generally and will end up being destroyed by the Russians unless it goes amiss and ends up on the black market. It will almost certainly not end up killing young Russian men, as intended.

What breaks my heart about it all is that Scotland has no beef with Russia and so far as I’m aware we never have had – seeing neighbours (albeit far fewer recently) flying Ukrainian flags makes me want to puke.
