In the midst of the worst crisis in the 89-year history of the SNP we are being told that the membership is rising. We are to believe that over 2,703 new members have joined the party since the very dubious leadership election.
We are to assume that these 2,703 new members didn’t want to be part of the party as long as Sturgeon and Murrell were in charge. That is the only credible explanation for this surge in numbers. These ‘new members’ knew that the Murrells were toxic! Funnily enough nobody in the SNP leadership is suggesting that.
These 2,703 people saw a police incident tent around the Murrell/Sturgeon household and suddenly thought, it is time for me to join the SNP!
They read about a party being under police investigation for possible malfeasance and thought it is time for me to get politically active. Where better to be active than in a party that cannot account for £633,000 of ringfenced money that has vanished. I will entrust that party with my subscriptions.
Was it perhaps when the party’s treasurer was arrested over possible financial irregularities that they thought oh yes this is the progressive, honest, squeaky-clean party for me to join!
The trigger to join up might just have been the revelation that this party, that is short of funds somehow managed to buy a £110,000 luxury mobile home for cash. A purchase that nobody on the ruling NEC knew anything about or indeed sanctioned? Then to further, help them make up their mind the party treasurer was arrested and he told the world that he knew nothing about any luxury mobile home. This, despite the fact that he had signed off on accounts that had a figure of £80,000 + for vehicles on those accounts. Was it because he never thought to ask the Party CEO what vehicles are these? Was this the reason for this rush to join the party that is teetering on financial ruin?
Was it when they heard that no auditors are willing to take them on as clients that made these 2,703 + new members think, where is my bank card I want to be part of this absolute clusterfuck! Could people be this stupid?
Then I remembered an article I read a couple of years back about the Nigerian Prince/General scam.
The fraudsters lure you in by offering a share of a huge investment opportunity or a fortune they can’t get out of the country without your help. Then they ask you either for your bank account number so they can transfer the money to you for safekeeping, or for a small advance payment to help cover the expense of transferring the money.
That’s when they either take your payment and disappear, or, worse, drain your bank account.

It can be the only one of two explanations to this membership surge we are hearing about.
It is either a huge scam to extort money or a blatant lie to pretend to the Scottish public that everything in the SNP fantasy bubble is just hunky dory. I mean if lots of people can be made to believe that a man can be a woman with just feelings, a bit of lippy and a provocative dress they will believe anything, right?
When identical Twitter posts start appearing anyone with a brain starts to be suspicious. Unfortunately, the not so switched on takes it as confirmation. I mean an SNP member wouldn’t lie to them, would they? Perhaps not, but an SNP bot account has only one purpose. It is there to lie to you and everyone else too!
What made this even worse was the so-called paper of Scottish independence and some SNP MPs and MSPs gave the story about 2,703 new members credibility. In an orchestrated campaign they too started posting identical messages!
While all this was going on the new Continuity First Minister decided some more carrots for the mugs were required. He rolled out the old Section 30 scam. A proven winner, every time!
Humza Yousaf has told Prime Minister to “respect the democratic wishes of Scotland” and grant a Section 30 order for a second independence referendum during his first meeting with the UK leader as First Minister.

At the same time we had MPs and MSPs telling us that devolution was in danger! No mention of independence of course, the new narrative is we need to defend devolution. It is not we must agitate for independence!

He will try to use this ‘attack on Scottish democracy’ to justify the insane decision to challenge the Section 35 being used against the hugely unpopular GRRB. Here is my opinion. There has been no membership surge. It is all a giant con to deflect your gaze away from the mess they created by their own actions. It is all that the present advisors and MSPs and MPs know. Lie and lie and lie again. Deny, deny and deny again. Blame others and blame and blame again.
They have no plan, no clue and no wish to come off of the gravy train. Over the next couple of elections dozens and dozens of SNP troughers will lose their seats. This means advisors and spads will lose their employment. These people are almost unemployable elsewhere. Most of them only have their seats or jobs because of nepotism and patronage.
The people that watched this all unravel before their own eyes didn’t rush to join the SNP. The rushed for the exit doors to either be without a party or joined another independence party.
The fact is the vast majority of the public do not fall for the Nigerian Prince scam or as it is known in Scotland The Great Carrot scam. Sadly, however, there are always some mugs that believe the con. I don’t decry them. It is a sad fact of life, some people are so desperate for independence they are willing to believe almost anything these shysters tell them. Cognitive Dissonance is an epidemic inside the remaining SNP membership. These people are victims, not accomplices! I decry and denounce the purveyors of the con that are abusing these people and their land of birth to feather their own nests.
No condemnation or punishment can suffice for this kind of betrayal. History will judge Sturgeon, Murrell and their loyal accomplices harshly. They are Scotland’s very own Nigerian Princes!
We need a plan. We need a Constitutional Convention to form that plan. It is up to the SNP if they want to be part of the campaign to free Scotland. No more carrots, we want action!

No, 3700 imbeciles may well have joined but more than likely another 15000-20000 will have left. (See, I can pull numbers out of thin air as well … it’s not hard).
Seemingly even after people resign their membership and stop their subscriptions there names are kept on the books for up to 15 months, either through incompetence or deliberate distortion. It doesn’t matter what the reason is the likelihood must be that the net effect of recent events is that the membership will have plummeted faster that a flying sheep.
Party HQ extorts a tithe from MPs of £250 / month / head. A substantial annual income of £135,000.
Reports that HQ is demanding an increased level of tithe.
At £12 per year for unwaged, new members, the 2,703 reported new members could be generated by an insignificant £60 increase in annual tithe per MP. A piddling 2% increase.

Interesting letter posted on Wings Over Scotland today.
It is from an Amanda White in the Scottish Government’s Referendum Bill and Cabinet Directive Unit.
In the letter it is confirmed that ” the Scottish Government stands ready to ENGAGE any time to begin talks with the UK Government about the change to the Scottish Parliament’s powers to allow the people of Scotland to choose their future ‘
And that’s the posotion as at 20th April 2023. Ready to engage if the UK entertain the Scottish Government.
And with no talks having having been even started about getting permission to allow the Scottish people the right to choose, the letter goes on to helpfully confirm that – ” the Scottish Government is not planning to hold a referendum in October this year”
And that’s it folks. That’s where we are. That’s what Sturgeon, and now Yousaf, has delivered.
A big fat zilch, zero, nothing. We’ve actually gone backwards.
Why would anyone vote for these people and their so called independence party. Petty, vicious, vindictive, treacherous troughers who have led the people of Scotland a dance.
But read the letter – and then reflect on the cardboard cut-out that is now the continuity First Minister.
And reflect also that the previously announced special conference for March 2023 just passed has been cancelled with no future date set.
You could be forgiven for thinking the SNP see their voters as suckers and you know what I fear that is utterly accurate.
It is sad that so many of us were right in our predictions about Sturgeon and her cabal,and so few took heed of those warnings.
A couple of points here.
There are still some diehard loyalist SNP Members who believe all this guff.
They had better get a wriggle on finding an auditor before the deadline or their short money will be extremely short – might even have to sell the campervan and might go bust entirely.
If no audit occurs are they breaking the law, where is the oversight on this?

We have a FM who was not fairly elected, and not by us, but there seems to be nothing we can do about it in the short term.

But, here’s the thing, with Yousless being the continuity candidate, just how far would they (the murrell cabal) go to guarantee his succession?
Just for a minuite, stop to think what happened, NS didn’t suddenly resign, this was orchestrated, and, as such, they must have had a plan. Maybe I’m being cynical, but, I feel for certain Yousless, as the “chosen one”, would have know the events that were about to unfold.
And, with this knowledge, was given time to get his “ducks” in line. It would be illuminating to know if there was a sudden influx of “new” members (while most of the stalwarts were resigning), just before NS resigned. I think an FOI is required on this one.
The above brings me to the conclusion, that there may well be another sudden influx of new members. But these new members are not supporters of independence (just like the ones who joined before NS’s resignation), no, they are either supporters of Yousless and his faith (the mosque would be a great recruiting ground right now), or trans-cult warriers, rattled by how slim, was Yousless’s hollow victory.
