This midweeks title might at first seem a little misleading. We invited our old friend Finbar Markey to join Lloyd and myself to discuss the pending Irish General Election later this month.

Just a few short months ago it looked like Sinn Féin would win a huge victory and become the next government of Ireland. However, as the famous phrase goes, ‘a week in politics is a long time.’ The same can for sure be said in Ireland.With just two weeks to go before polling, Fine Gael is on 25 per cent support, the latest Irish Times/Ipsos B&A poll finds. This is well ahead of its rivals in Fianna Fáil and Sinn Féin, both on 19 per cent.

This reversal in Sinn Féin’s fortunes is explained by Finbar in great detail. The parallels between Sinn Féin and the SNP are obvious as our podcast shows. Both have been sidetracked from their raison d’etre of A United Ireland and an Independent Scotland by lobbyists. It cannot be ruled out that the deep state in both countries has also been at work derailing these two movements.Wokeism and mass immigration are wonderful issues for the spooks to exploit.

These two Nationalist Parties have both been captured by the gender cult and the open borders devotees.By doing so both parties have lost swathes of support in their respective countries.

Another big issue in Ireland is immigration. Finbar tells us that it is now so bad that over 330,000 Irish people are homeless. This housing shortage is causing a mass exodus of the highly educated Irish youngsters who are leaving in their droves in search of a better life and a chance to have a home of their own albeit in foreign lands.

At the same time the EU obsession with mass immigration into the Union is loading Ireland with thousands upon thousands of refugees and immigrants. There is a perception, rightly or wrongly that these newcomers are receiving preferential treatment to the indigenous Irish.

Sinn Féin are supportive of mass immigration and are failing to listen to their base on this contentious issue for fear of being branded ‘nasty and racist.’ This too has caused them to lose support.

Another joint stance is on Ukraine where both Sinn Féin and The SNP have bought into the US/UK/EU/ NATO narrative on the SMO. Not so long ago both Parties were committed war neutral parties! It is hard to believe that the Nationalist Parties in Ireland and Scotland are now supporting British Foreign policies in conflicts! Have they forgotten their histories with the Brits?

Therefore our hopes in Scotland of a Sinn Féin victory and a border poll to form a United Ireland and end the British Union now seems unlikely this time around.

Finbar believes the electoral reality will force Sinn Féin to re-examine its present policies and devotion to wokeism, immigration and NATO wars! I hope the SNP is watching!

The recent Presidential Election in USA had a similar scenario where the Democratic Party the source of this woke cult and believers in mass immigration have been routed at the ballot Box. The DNC belief that mass immigration would undoubtedly alter the demography of the voting public in their favour.

The US voters gave the Democrats their response to that. Kamala Harris was roundly beaten by the Republican Party as it was in both Houses of Congress. The American public made it very clear they want to close the border in the south and end the mass influx from Latin America and an end to the US proxy war in Ukraine!

The belief is that the Political Parties that allow mass immigration invariably benefit at the ballot Box from the immigrant population.This also applies in Ireland and Scotland.

We in Scotland know that in 2014 the indigenous Scottish population voted for independence it was the Anglo and EU immigrants being allowed to vote in our Referendum that saved the Union.

Although this was the main topic of our midweek show events took over somewhat. The decision by Joe Biden to allow Ukraine to fire long range US missiles into Russia has not only brought a new dimension to the conflict it has possibly set in motion the timescale that could lead to WWIII.

The feeling is this decision was taken for US internal political reasons. The MIC and American deep state do not want to see an end to the conflict in Eastern Europe.Endless war is good for business.Too much money to be made and laundered by prolonging wars.

It seems the Democrats plan is to provoke Russia into a response and make it difficult if not impossible for Donald Trump to push for an end to this CIA/NATO war as he has promised during the campaign.

Through A Scottish Prism as always do their best to shine some light on controversial topics that will never be given an airing by the mainstream media.It can sometimes be an awkward discussion but it is one that needs airing. Wars and immigration are realities we need to face them and discuss them openly.
