The politicians all talk about uniting the movement and Scotland United, then they do absolutely nothing to make it happen. Indeed, by always putting their parties first instead of the cause they do Scotland Disunited!
Here at Through A Scottish Prism we have championed the Scotland United approach from day one. Unlike the politicians we practise what we preach. On today’s podcast we display this adherence to our cause by having all the independence parties on our panel.
From the ISP we have John Hannah, who is a business analyst who works in Scotland,across
the UK and globally, analysing organisational change in banking, insurance and pensions.John was born, raised in his constituency and is standing as a candidate for the
Independence for Scotland party in the Bathgate and Linlithgow constituency in West Lothian.
From the Alba Party we have Josh Robertson, he is a bio-medical engineer working for a Scottish company. He is a life long independence supporter and campaigner and he will be standing in the Airdrie and Shotts seat.
We have David Henry who only last week declared his intention to stand as an Independent for Independence candidate in Edinburgh West. He gives us his view of the election his USP he believes is his loyalty is to his constituents not to a party whip.
From the SNP we have Warren Puckett a Scottish-American technologist and business owner who resides in the far North-Western Highlands. He brings his grassroots views to the discussion.
The topic is the general election and how differently each of the parties will tackle this sprint to July 4th deadline.

Have you ever asked yourself , if like me you believe it is the people of Scotland who are Sovereign, why then do newly elected MPs from Scotland swear that their TRUE allegiance is NOT to the people of Scotland but to the Crown in Westminster?
Shortly after the 4th of July you will hear these words: ‘ I do solemnly, sincerely, and truly declare and affirm, that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to his Majesty King Charles, his heirs and successors, according to law.’
The Declaration initiative as part of its next Stage is seeking any candidate(s) who BEFORE the 4th of July would swear this Oath:
‘By this Oath, I declare that if elected as a Member of the United Kingdom Parliament, it will be as a result of votes cast solely by Sovereign Scots, and therefore I do solemnly swear and affirm that my allegiance is, and will remain permanently and exclusively, to the Sovereign people of Scotland.’
Will the Declaration initiative find any such candidate(s)?

Notes: The Declaration of a Sovereign Scot initiative: I have always stressed that it will involve incremental Stages, but it has one direction, and only one purpose – to allow the Sovereign people of Scotland to regain the independence of their country.
Stage 3 involves two separate and distinct elements:
1) as it applies to all those who will be asking for the votes of Sovereign Scots, ie., candidates in the election. Thus the post above.
2) a separate shortened version of the Declaration document designed to fulfil criteria inherent in the UK Supreme Court ruling – but for the signatures of the people who are Sovereign! A signature for your Country and its Independence! Posts about this second element will follow shortly.

I think there will be such candidates, Mike. I believe that the Declaration initiative is going to be used by any potential ISP MPS that may be elected. I may be wrong but I think I read a post of Colette’s that this was her Party’s intention. And I think I read that Sally Hughes & Eva were contemplating doing the same! Sooo… this is going to be an interesting initiative. (Happy to be corrected if I got that wrong!).
I think you have the rights of this, Mike and I’d be extremely happy to see this being enacted by any Scottish Party. I think it may involve a lot of hassle with the Holy House (HoC) but it will be well worth any trouble it may cause. Thanks for all your hard work on this project! I always look forward to reading what you are proposing for Scotland.

The Declaration initiative is seeking any candidate(s) who will take an alternative Oath – a Scottish Oath – before the 4th of July. These are extracts from my much longer and much more detailed post on Peter Bell’s blog – this extract involves a question about a William Wallace.
We have a “firebrand” candidate who will win his candidacy on the 4th of July – lets call him William Wallace – he has sworn the ‘Scottish Oath’ and in his appearance in Westminster he repeats it – loudly and defiantly – he refuses point blank to take the Royal Oath.
What happens is NOT abstentionism!
His seat will be declared vacant (as if he were dead is the phrase used) and a new election is called. He stands again, and wins again, and all is repeated, and yes, repeated, and repeated, until …. but for that to ever happen it first requires an actual Scottish Oath – and that it be put into action.
Question – would you vote for William Wallace – who you know from the outset will never be an MP because he swore the Scottish Oath, or vote for those who will take the Royal Oath just to be an MP?
This is the Oath – a Scottish Oath:
