In under 24 hours from now, the polls will open, and the Scottish people will speak. As mentioned in the referendum and some subsequent elections since, for those hours the polls remain open the people of Scotland have sovereignty. How they choose to use that sovereignty is decided by a simple X in a couple of boxes.When the polls close, the British media are back in charge. Their job is to tell you what to think, how to interpret the results and all through a British Unionist Prism. Today I am saying there is a better way. Time to get your election results Through A Scottish Prism!

Due to the pandemic this has of course, been the most unusual of elections. There has been very little if any door knocking. Very little street presence and most of the campaigning has been done through the broadcast and dead-tree media. This is a unionist citadel. Nicola Sturgeon decided to enter that lions den and tried to make common cause with the British Media. Will that on Saturday prove to have been a wise decision or a huge blunder? Do any of you trust the British media the way Nicola has done in recent times? The Alba Party has depended on the Pro Independence New Media, and their vibrant activists, will that have been enough to make a breakthrough?

The British Media sensing the danger of the Alba Party to their beloved union banned Alba from all debates, all news bulletins, all coverage. Alba was only to be mentioned if accompanied with a smear, some innuendo, references to anything to debase or demean anyone associated with Alba. It is with some sadness I note the SNP stayed silent when this censorship was being applied. My immediate thought was of Martin Niemöller’s famous saying, First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a socialist. I fear the SNP will very soon regret their silence at this very British censorship outrage! .

The wily old UK Media knew the danger a genuine second independence party led by Alex Salmond posed to the union.They understand the D’Hondt AMS voting system used at Holyrood. Anyone with a modicum of arithmetical aptitude and a knowledge of the Scotland Act knows that Unionists only chance of seats is on the Regional List. The SNP is so strong in the Constituency Vote their List Votes are meaningless and do not count. The List becomes a contest for the losers in the constituency. Angus McNeil knows this and said in an article for The National.                                         

One of the other unusual things in this election is the count. In every other election as soon as the polls close at 10 pm on Thursday, the boxes are sealed and taken to the count. That count begins immediately, and we know by the early hours of Friday morning who all the Constituency winners and losers are.

Citing Covid apparently the counting of constituency ballots has to begin on Friday morning, when obviously Covid is not a danger? Who knew that Covid was safe in the daytime? I just do not understand this or how it is safer to wait than count immediately. Indeed knowing the British State the longer the boxes are left alone the more danger there is and not from a virus unless you call English imperialism a virus!

The Regional Ballots which are normally counted on the Friday will now be counted on the Saturday because obviously Covid doesn’t like Saturdays. 😏

Whatever the reasons and we do have some strange anomalies with Covid restrictions, we just have to accept the reality.

Now, instead of you sitting up on the Thursday Night into the wee small hours of Friday, as constituencies are called, it will now be during Friday daytime this happens.It just doesn’t feel right does it?

The Broadcasters will have their usual very predictable election specials. A unionist leaning host three unionist politicians an alleged neutral journalist from a right wing British gutter press propaganda sheet and a single SNP representative for the Unionists to attack and constantly interrupt.

Irrespective of the winners or losers the Unionists will still insist they won the election, did better than expected or the SNP victory was not big enough. It is all so predictable. Saturday will be a repeat of the British propaganda election special this time for the Regional list results.

Well that all changes now, if you want! Through A Scottish Prism is going to attempt a live broadcast of the Independence Regional List Seat Results programme on Saturday beginning at noon and continuing until the last vote is declared.

Those of you that listen to the Prism Podcasts know the words that open and close the show. ‘Everything we do and everything we say here is viewed through a Scottish Prism. This results programme will be the exact same premise. While BBC and STV pretend to be neutral they are of course, heavily biased in favour of England’s over lordship of Scotland. We do not claim to be neutral. Our show will be 100% pro Scottish independence slanted extravaganza!

The Regional results are the final piece of the jigsaw and in our opinion the most vital part of the election process. By Saturday will the SNP already have a majority? Will the twelve Greens that are standing in Constituencies throughout Scotland splitting the independence vote cost the SNP those twelve seats and its chance of an outright majority? Will Alba make a breakthrough? Will Greens or Alba hold the balance? Will it take all three parties to see a Holyrood majority? Will the #bothvotesyes or #bothvotessnp be proved correct or will it be somewhere in the middle?

We will not be talking up the union or the Unionists. We will be talking down the union, and Unionists see how they like it!
