Webcom Radio is Now Playing: Arlo Guthrie - Deportees

Through a Scottish Prism 05/02/23

FROM NOON EVERY SUNDAY.

This week I am joined by Eva Comrie, Yvonne Ridley and Neale Hanvey MP. We discuss the week’s events as they unfolded. The u-turn on male rapists in women’s prisons. The attempt by First Minister and other SNP people to blame the Scottish Prison Service for the entire fiasco.

The main part of the week’s review is spent discussing Neale’s 10 minute rule bill on Scotland’s democracy. The hope this has generated in the independence movement. The small shoots of unity are these a sign of things to come or a one off? What happens next? What can we all do as individuals to promote this initiative?

A vote for Independence is a vote to rejoin the EU says Angus Robertson, does the panel agree!

Stephen Noon wants us to support Labour Party in faint hope of getting a referendum in 2027/28 sensible or drivel?

The sacking of Nadhim Zahawi at last, why did it take so long? Why does he still have the party whip? Why is he not facing a prison sentence?

Our new feature a viewers question. This week we answer Isobel Delussey’s question on AGFRT.

All this and much more on your favourite weekly review show.

Help me beat the censors.

Since I first expressed my opposition to this entire GRA nonsense I have found myself being banned and blocked on social media platforms. Even here many people who have subscribed to my blogs no longer recieve notifications when I post a new blog.It has grown worse since February last year when I made my views as a peacenik clear and refused to join in with the war mongers and their Russophobia. I have opposed wars my entire life and will not for the sake of popularity jettison my principles. If you agree with my musings in these blogs I would ask that you share my blogs wherever you can on social media and help me beat the censors and war mongers.

  • The crux of the problem is that TWAW means that any man who feels like it can ‘trans’ into a woman. It is that simple. Logic dictates that a sex offender is just as much a woman as any other man who claims to be a woman. Logic also dictates that TMAM must mean that females are placed in male prisons. No way round those logical conclusions. Ergo, no man can be allowed in ANY female space.

That is the logic of the failure of the logic. No such thing as ‘true trans’. It is a cul-de-sac to state that all ‘transwomen’, except sex offenders because those sex offenders might have gaily accessed female spaces and rights long before they were caught. Ergo, no biological man, surgery or no surgery, in female spaces and rights, services, sex-specific jobs, etc. Third spaces. Repeal of the 2004 GRA to stop it being used as a springboard for more unwanted reform. Unless we keep up the pressure and get this settled, this will keep coming up and biting us hard.

I do hope that Neale Hanvey is successful with his bill, but I’m not personally hopeful. It will bring independence into the sunlight again, though, and that makes it worthwhile. What he has done is admirable, and I take my hat off to him. Also, the backing of at least some of the SNP MPs is a step in the right direction again. This is what is needed, not one-party hegemony and foot-dragging. However, ALBA must be very careful that it does not become infiltrated with the ‘trans’ warriors now, transferring from the SNP, or it, too, will fall.

The Northern Irish agreement was founded on the back of the Troubles and has the backing of Eire and the US, as well as Westminster, and, frankly, the UK establishment would be happy enough for NI to rejoin the South. The truth is that the NI Unionists keep the UK in NI, not Westminster.

More and more, I am hearing English people stating that they would be happy if the Scots really want to go – they don’t necessarily want us to go, but they believe it is up to us. That is a huge leap forward, too, and heartening. Our own dyed-in-the-wool Unionists will not be a pushover, though, but the most sensible will be less vociferous now, I think, because even some of them see that there is no way that Westminster will make things better for Scotland, though, at the same time, they can see how weak the present Scottish government is.

It needs to be cleared of the ‘wokies’ and that would go a long way to making the SNP less objectionable. Alyn Smith, like so many of them, is a devolutionist and he is up to his eyeballs in ‘trans’, so has a stake in independence not being instituted any time soon. I must admit that I have been disappointed in some of the SNP who could have brought down the devolutionist/’trans’ cabal sooner.

  • Just how much money do the Sturgeon/Murrell partnership have that Sturgeon can’t recall when she found out Murrell gave the SNP a greater than £100k loan. Who gives out that sort of amount and can’t recall it happening. Also from today’s Press briefing Sturgeon is saying she has not bothered to ask Murrell when he told her.

Based on the litany of lies she spouted during her 8 hr sesssion in the Parliamentary Inquiry into her actions re persecuting Salmond I feel confident that she is telling pork pies again/hiding something.
