The ongoing saga of the Tory Party leadership race. What will Liz Truss bring to the table? It certainly will not be a recognition of Scotland’s Claim of Right! She has indicated as has Sunak that their best bet to save the UK economy is to increase the drilling of the ‘UK’s North Sea Oil and Gas reserves! Scotland the UK’s money tree!
Nicola Sturgeon and her multiple appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe. Meanwhile, as others campaign for independence, we have children attending soup kitchens late at night in our biggest city, Glasgow. Hunger, poverty and despair haunt our people while our leaders play at being a celebrity in Edinburgh.
Overdose awareness day highlighted this blight in our nation. We know it is directly related to poverty and what are we doing to address this? We don’t know about that what we do know is our government has begun a consultation on pardoning 16th century Scottish witches! They do say good governance is all about priorities.
BRILLIANT prism again, can you imagine what this country would be like if these three ladies were in the one party of governance? How could we not get it right. EVA for FM as she is a no nonsense woman for sure, oh! to see her take on the likes of TRUSS or Sunak or ANY of the big wig tories.. Even the LABOUR Peer.
Sara keeping things right with her very hard work of knowledge of Scotlands history & who has livened up the Indy debate again. . And Yvonne a woman of substance who knows just about everything about every country in the world. And by the way looking very Glamorous today Yvonne.
I agree just three if nany very talented adukt human females we have in the movement.

First-rate prism again, BB. The SNP leadership know perfectly well that there is no way we are getting a referendum, and the election is just another delaying tactic. All pointless. The (Scottish) constitutional route is now the only way. It was always the only way. There is no other way except by force of arms. UN next. Videocast by Neale Hanvey directly to all the countries of the UN’s representatives, and written material detailing the Treaty breaches. Alert the world’s media, especially European, Scandinavian and Al-Jezeera. The UK/Scotgov can’t prevent other media from reporting.
Eva is right about the policy that dare not speak its name – or be debated or be voted upon or be honestly reported. The SNP now is all appearance but no substance, all virtue-signalling nonsense, with little adherence to legal precept and principles or behaviour. If the policy succeeds and passes through parliament (Lib Dems, Greens, Labour all in favour, too) then there will be dissent on the streets, and that dissent, in turn, will add momentum to the independence movement in all its forms because this has nothing to do with human rights or even civil rights, but with outrageous demands from the men’s rights movement which believes that females have come far enough, and, like Scots, need to be shoved back into their box, to know their place.
Listened to Alec Salmond piece there, too. The most consummate politician of his generation, and he’s Scottish and he’s ours. No, Eva, I don’t think we should pardon witches because the witches did nothing to warrant a pardon. As for those – in the Kirk, in councils and parishes, in the gentry, on the benches who knew perfectly well that witchcraft did not exist but, being the elite, they saw it as a means of keeping people in fear and in their ‘ordained’ place by encouraging ignorance and spite and narrow-mindedness to overwhelm common sense and enlightenment. If we want to have an open, decent society after independence, we need to eliminate the same elements today. Oh for a Burns and his ‘Holy Willie’s Prayer’.
I happen to know a group of ladies that were campaigning for the pardon because it means a lot to them. Some of them are Scotland’s finest mother earth and are natural healers. I think that the principal is that the women were persecuted and murdered for natural abilities and if you look at the attack on women today it’s going in a cycle until it’s broken. An apology is mair fitting but to open consultation to see if the right thing should be done is wasted energy.
Sorry, if I offended, Witchy, but none of these women did anything at all to warrant the horrible deaths they suffered. A pardon is explicitly a means of letting the now dead be ‘acquitted’ of their crimes. To me, that is adding insult to injury. An apology is, likewise, pointless. The whole thing about wrongful actions, is ‘don’t do it again’. I agree with you absolutely that women are being persecuted again, this time because they stand in the way of: a) corporate interests and the billionaires (all men, even the women are men, who own them; and b) because unfettered porn and sexuality (which, of course, is inimical to women’s and children’s safety, so they must be neutralised). Sorry, but for me, a pardon or an apology are just appearance over substance, the very hallmark of this SG, and the Westminster one, too. Now, if they decided to allocate 10,000 pounds to each female in Scotland to make up for the female persecution, that would go some way to expressing regret! As for the men who opine that women deserve this because they pushed men out of their private spaces and jobs, it might interest them to know that, in medieval times, women were doctors, women ran inns and brewed ale, they ran sheep farms and looked after estates – until men pushed them out. They were also chattel until the 20th century!

Just a point on Nicola Sturgeon seeing off 3 PM’s BB. Does she really believe it was “her” that saw them off?. My take on this is Alex Salmond got a referendum with 1 Tory Prime Minister and Sturgeon failed to get a referendum with 3 Tory PM’s going on 4. Just a thought from your resident yoon BB.
