Webcom Radio is Now Playing: Fog Bandits - DEVOUR - Single - DEVOUR

Through A Scottish Prism 02/07/23

FROM NOON SUNDAY.

Holyrood fell into recess on Friday. This means that this is our last weekly review of the political events of the past seven days.

Being mindful that this is our last episode in this format until Holyrood reconvenes, I called the whole gang together. Eva Comrie, Phil Boswell, Yvonne Ridley and Lloyd Quinan.

We discuss the further unravelling of the SNP UK General Election mishmash. Is it 50% of the seats or 50% of the votes cast, or both ?

The Scottish Government halts HMPA, another Green Party mess in the making. Will the Bute Agreement hold, or will Humza take this golden opportunity to end the alliance?

The Scottish Feminist Network held a special meeting at Holyrood to encourage women into politics. Why were men invited to participate?

Edinburgh Zoo and their ‘recruitment policy.’ SNP resignations coincidences or rats off a sinking ship? Thames Water collapse and the implications for us all. The illegal Rwanda flights.

All this and much more on your favourite weekly review show.

  • BB: I believe that, if Labour wins the GE next year, the odious Greens will jump ship anyway. They are opportunists and have always been extremely lukewarm on independence, if not quietly opposed, with, it seems to me, a very large part being English. I have never regarded them as anything other than an English party that has rooted itself in Scotland, whereas we have always had our own history of environmental roots.

The Feminist Network debacle was both illegal and nasty towards females. The men broke the Equality Act blatantly.

Independence will be impossible until we accept that there is no route via British politics. Until we do, by a majority, the movement is spitting into the wind.

Agree re the EU. EFTA is our best chance. The EU is morphing into America’s aircraft carrier. We are not the only ones who are uneasy.

  • Thank you Roddy and the CREW for another informative and entertaining PRISM , I wholeheartedly agree with Lloyd Quinan in his comments about slater ,ruskin, Chapman etc they are just another example of colonialism where indigenous people are being FORCED to accept policies that these utter clowns are bringing from their own native countries , this reviled and offensive doctrine despised by the majority of the electorate YET pushed down our throats continuously by barely elected deviant politicians who were INVITED into governance of OUR country without the express permission of the electorate, but merely by invite by a depraved FM to bolster and support a cause and policy which most normal sane people consider perverted and deviant

Lloyd”s comments also highlight the glaring anomaly of a constitutional electoral franchise that affords citizens of other countries to participate in the constitutional future of their HOST country and to FORCIBLY IMPOSE their beliefs and opinions on the citizens of that country irrespective of the indigenous people’s wants or needs

It is one of the things that I vehemently oppose Alex Salmond on and I think Lloyd’s excellent exposure highlights the unintended consequences of trying to be overly kind , progressive and inclusive , we will NEVER obtain independence by capitulation to incomers desires or DEMANDS

    • Yes, on the matter of an irregular ‘local government franchise’ being used for a national election, never mind a national referendum on independence, it would seem important for independence leaders to understand that, in a colonial society ‘independence is a matter only for the colonized’ (Albert Memmi).

    • The thing with really self-centred people, narcissists, in other words, twathater, is that they are incapable of seeing anyone else’s viewpoint. It works across the board, whether it’s independence or ‘trans’. They are so driven by their own desires that everyone else is simply fodder or an obstacle to be kicked aside and abandoned. I fear we are living through a period of history in which sociopaths, psychopaths, narcissists, sadists and some of the most selfish people on the planet are harming the rest of us. We really have to stop being kind and start being protective of ourselves and our children. These people will not hesitate to harm us if we get in their way because they understand no one else’s autonomy or feelings or thoughts. They are either totally incapable of understanding because of their psychological make-up or they are seeking power and we stand in their way. We have to start petitioning our political representatives to stop financing these malefactors with public monies, which will not be easy, since so many of them occupy political positions.

  • Hi, BB. I want to second that thank you from twathater. The Prism is excellent and a tonic all round. I wonder if you were thinking of touching on the request to change the corroboration rules? If so, is it not ironic that, as a change to this rule is requested, ostensibly to bring more convictions for sexual assaults of all kinds, the laws on indecent exposure, grooming youngsters, etc. are being ignored and the law contained in the 2010 Equality Act routinely undermined every day?

It would be laughable, as the Greens and SNP assorted dingbats routinely are, except that corroboration seems to play no part whatsoever in ‘trans’ flouting of the existing laws. To be fair, it might lead to more arrests, but convictions? Very doubtful. Juries will be even more reluctant to convict for fear of miscarriages of justice. Oh, wait a minute. Aren’t they getting rid of juries, too? I have read recently of cases where naked men have paraded around changing rooms in front of young children, with lots of witnesses, but just saying, “I’m trans’ miraculously makes all objections, laws, decency, vanish into thin air.

If juries and double corroboration go, all a predatory member of the larping ‘stunning and brave’ has to say, is: “I’m ‘trans’. You can’t get me, I’m part of the big con… ” A travesty of justice and an added insult to females and children who are raped and sexually assaulted and generally treated like pieces of meat.

    • I worry about what it is going to take before this madness gets arrested. I worry that some wee lassie or woman gets murdered by one of these fetishists before realism and reality arrive.

  • I pray it doesn’t come to that, but a lot of these men are dangerously deluded, quite deranged. On the other hand, the public is beginning to see just how deranged this movement is, and they will not stand by while their children are ‘converted’. Once, the BBC would have been the first to do a piece on the danger, but that is not possible now as it is completely captured. I do believe that a backlash will come, and it will not be pretty. I just hope that innocents are not dragged into it and that the axe falls where it should: on the ‘TQI++++++, Stonewall and all its arms. Defunding would go a long way to end this dangerous, reeking horse manure.
