There is a thing called Buyer’s Remorse it is a feeling of regret, guilt, or disappointment that can occur after making a purchase. It’s also known as post-purchase dissonance. It can also refer to having voted British Labour to get rid of the British Tories. You realise too late that you didn’t actually get what it said on the tin.
Labour has only been in power for a few weeks but already throughout the Union voters are experiencing Buyers Remorse. Every single promise made by Starmer, Sarwar and crew to get elected before the election has been ditched.
Anas Sarwar’s famous “watch my lips there will be no austerity under Labour.” Starmer’s broken promises could fill two blogs on the topic. Listed below are just a few.
We could add in £3.6 billion sent to Ukraine to buy weapons and subsidise Ukrainian pensioners and single parent families. The open cheque to Israel to continue killing innocent civilians in the open-air prison camp called Gaza.
To compound their lies Labour have now set off on a new set of lies of blaming the SNP in Scotland for Labour cancelling the Winter Fuel Payment. They also are trying to blame the SNP Government for the £22 billions of London induced indebtedness assigned to Scotland.They are doing the same in Northern Ireland. In Wales where Labour has governed since 1999 they are blaming the Tories and Westminster. This is a particularly evil lie as none of devolved nations and occupied territory can in fact borrow such sums. These notional amounts are % of England’s £2 Trillion debts allocated to the other parts of the English Empire by crooked Whitehall spivs.
All the things that Labour told us that the Tories were getting wrong pre- election Labour have kept in place or increased. Instead of Anas feeling some embarrassment or regret for his watch my lips lie he is doubling down with attempting to blame the SNP for the failures of successive Unionist governments financial profligacy.
Meanwhile, our corrupt media and broadcasters are staying silent on this blatant dishonesty from London. The Union must never be found guilty of negligence, dishonesty theft or wrongdoing. All blame must be shifted away from the establishment and elite. The magic English money tree that is Scotland must be blamed for England’s thieving and incompetence.
Another huge lie by Starmer and Labour pre election was their commitment to saving Grangemouth as a going concern. This week we got the official news it will indeed be closing. Scotland, the producer of all the Unions oil, will lose its only refinery.England, a nation with no oil, has five refineries and they all investing to expand their operations to meet the increased demands placed on them with the closure of Grangemouth.

In Scotland, a scandal that can be firmly placed on the SNP Government is the Edinburgh Rape Crisis scandal again that reared it’s head. The chief executive of the sexual assault support service has stood down after a review found he failed to protect women-only spaces.
Mridul Wadhwa a man resigned after a Rape Crisis Scotland report found he failed to behave professionally while head of Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre (ERCC).
The investigation, carried out by an independent consultant, also found Mr Wadhwa “did not understand the limits of his authority” and the needs of survivors were not prioritised. The fact that he was allowed to resign and no doubt received a huge payoff only adds to this scandal. I wonder if the SNP will ever face up to their wrongdoing in all this woke nonsense?
At Holyrood the SNP Scottish Government lost two votes. There is no doubting that Labour and their fellow English Nationalists in the Tory and Liberal Parties smell blood. The Budget vote is on December 4th and if the SNP fails to get a deal agreed by then we could be facing a Holyrood election in early 2025.
Without unity and a plan the Brits could once again be running Holyrood. If that happens the same dishonesty will be employed by Labour.We can kiss goodbye to Free prescription charges and free tuition, bridge tolls will be back all the mitigation done by the SNP will be removed.The subsequent hardship will of course, be blamed on the SNP not Labour.
We in Scotland need to wake up before it is too late.The entire Yes Movement, not just the SNP. We need a Constitutional Convention immediately. We need all parts of the independence movement acting as one. Time is running out we need to act now.

This is all the Scottish industries all over again. All profitable. All productive. Lies told. Closed down. Five refineries in England. One in Scotland. That closing and a new one in the Netherland, is it? The five in England being upgraded. What can you say? The Scots are monumentally set-destructive? They would have to be to put up with this kind of treatment every generation or so. This Union has never worked, does not work now and will never work inn the future.
Listened to 22-year-old Reem Abrahim talk about pensioners and how a quarter are millionaires! Not in Scotland, dearie, unless it’s Edinburgh or Perthshire, and they are unlikely to be Scots. I think she is thinking of London or Shangri-La, the arrogant wee besom. She works for a right-wing think tank that lauds Thatcherism. What has happened to young people – or, at least, too many of them? They seem entirely incapable of critical thinking. I, too, was a thoughtless wee besom at that age, but life soon knocked it out of me. Well, still opinionated, but much more aware of others and that we all need to walk a mile in the shoes of others.
I would not wish to hound anyone out of their job, but Sandy Brindley, Maggie Chapman and Nicole Sturgeon need to proffer apologies to those women who were so badly let down by ERCC – and mean it. That man, Wadhwa was a disaster, but, if those women had just stopped for one minute to think about the sheer arrogance and entitlement, not to mention the lies and illegality, inherent in his application, they would never have allowed him near the place. There are so-called ‘tranwomen’ who do not enter female spaces or try to make the lives of females worse, but the majority of them now, do just that. They revel and get their rocks off at hurting female people.
It is the sheer lack of understanding of these two women that shocks, as well as the utter betrayal of their own sex in favour of men who wear ‘womanface’. It really beggars belief. No man could possibly understand what rape or sexual assault is for a woman, albeit men get raped, too. A man dressed as a woman would be even more triggering and frightening, not less so. I have known women who came late to this stuff, who were of the ‘be kind’ brigade until they came face-to-face with a ‘transwoman’ or they saw one enter a loo/changing room where their daughter was. Every instinct screamed: man; dangerous man. Then, they got why self-ID is a huge no-no and why females fear males instinctively in certain situations. They should. Simple as that.
I agree: I, too, believe Labour will start to roll back on many benefits, including bus passes and prescriptions (for which, England does not pay the full whack either). We are going to witness the complete reversal of the post war social consensus that Thatcher started to dismantle and Blair continued because, you know, Labour is relaxed about individual wealth. They are as neoliberal and globalist as Thatcherism, but more so because they had to move further to the right to do it, all the while pandering to the hard left that is the other side of the coin, but equally authoritarian, perhaps more so.
The problem lies in the fact that no government, right or left or centre, is willing to do what to will take to try and fix the economy. Measures could be taken tomorrow to start the process, but all the politicians, regardless of party, are in hock to the global corporates who now actually formulate policy where business interests used to influence it. The rest of us get to elect the politicians who invariably dance to the corporates’ tune.
As ever Roddy, you are talking complete sense. ‘The Movement’ such as it is, really needs to get it act together, put the past behind us an learn the simple lesson that political causes that are divided and self-indulgent tend not to win all that many battles. Which means that it is absolutely vital that we go in to the next election squarely behind the SNP, which means that they must get their house in order before that can happen. Simply put, electoral reality means that there has to be one political party to maximise support. That may not be music to the ears of some people, but I’m afraid simply waiting on another pro-Indy party to get established would be lengthy and a waste of resources. The SNP for their part urgently need fundamental urgent internal reform, before they are fit for purpose. Not least a rule change to allow Stephen Flynn to take over as leader.
Mark, they absolutely refuse to change. Every time anyone comes up with an idea that they might use, they dodge it. They simply do not want independence at all – well, unless it is handed to them on a plate with no effort on their part, and, even then, I think they’d still refuse it. Stephen Flynn, like every other contender, flatters to deceive. There is no one with the ability or nous or determination to succeed. Sorry, but you are going to be severely disappointed – again. For 2026, we are going to get the mantra, ‘SNP 1 & 2′ again, more rotten carrots and more lies and broken promises. It is the end for them.
The self-interested are too distracted to notice and the terminally brain-dead are too stupid to notice, but the real culprits who made it all happen know perfectly well what they are doing, and they are doing it quite deliberately. I would reverse the old saying, never put down to conspiracy what can can be explained by stupidity’, to ‘never put down to stupidity that which can be explained only by conspiracy’ even if that conspiracy is individual and not a group one. A number of SNP top notchers have been bought and sold. Much of what has happened can be explained by jealousy, resentment, lack of nous, ideological capture, etc., but that is the home-grown stuff. The real hole in the net is the ‘turning’ of several top people of the SNP, probably from years back, as double agents. That, when you have stripped everything else away, is the only conclusion that fits.
The SNP has been captured by ‘woke ideology’ and the ‘trans’ nonsense, but so has the entire West. It is separate from the double agent stuff, which is either British State or American State, and, in the end, is even more dangerous than either because it has the capability of taking us all down and destroying every Western nation by weakening them from the inside. While we have been busy worrying about British/American state interference, this poison has been spreading throughout Western Europe and the Anglospehere. This stuff would never countenance independence because that might disrupt the spread and tenacity of this toxic, ‘woke’ movement.
Sadly Lorna,I agree with every word you have written.It is heartbreaking to watch the once great party destroyed by bad actors.We need a new plan and a new Party.IMHO none of the present ‘independence parties’are fit for purpose without root and branch reform.
I agree with that, Roddy. They all have flaws. They all put party before people and, certainly, before independence. A proper united front (it would have to be informal, though, for the electoral rules to work). In the end, though, although I believe that people-led independence movements actually work best, we will still need a party(parties) to get it all through the political process. Unfortunately, they take time to catch up on the people movement. The SNP is now so corrupted that there is simply not enough time to reform it, even if there was a will to do so, and there certainly is not.
I think that, after 2026, unless some miracle occurs before then, we will go into the post 2016 era and into a new phase of the independence journey, a completely different tack from those that have pertained thus far. The Rev predicts that there will be a SNP-Labour coalition, and I agree with him that there appears to be no other options, barring that miracle, but it will spell the end of another leg of the journey. Eventually, we will be faced with stark reality, with no way past it, except to accept what we will have to do then, and I hope and pray that we can avoid the Irish route. We are always at our very best when our backs are to the wall with nowhere to go but forward.
I don’t often disagree with Stu however,on this occasion I believe the Unionists will form a tripartite coalition maybe even a quartet if the Reform Party get traction all to close out the dreaded separatists.I also believe that will be the catalyst for our movement to realign.
