THE SCOTTISH PEOPLE DESERVE A SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT THAT WILL PURSUE A SERIOUS STRATEGY FOR INDEPENDENCE SAYS ALBA’S HANVEY

Reacting today (Monday) to the SNP Conference speech by the First Minister and SNP Leader Nicola Sturgeon MSP  ALBA Westminster Leader Neale Hanvey MP said:

“Yet again the SNP Leader proclaims her support for Scotland’s Independence.  Conference rhetoric to rouse the delegates is one thing but delivering an Independence Referendum in the face of Westminster’s blatant refusal to grant one is another.

“Since 2016 there have been as many unfulfilled promises to hold an independence referendum as there has been Tory Prime Ministers. The time for political spin is over. The people of Scotland deserve, and demand, a Scottish Government that will pursue a serious strategy to deliver independence.

“The Yes movement is hungry for change and it is the role of the First Minister to provide the leadership and the strategy that will deliver that change. So where was the strategy for bending Westminster to the sovereign will of the Scottish people when Liz Truss says no?

“And to the question of what happens when the Supreme Court denies the legality of holding an Independence Referendum? Nicola’s answer was that we must accept their ruling and reflect upon it.

“The Independence movement needs a clear strategy for what happens when the Supreme Court and the UK Government denies the democratic right of Scots to determine their own constitutional future in an Independence Referendum.

“Scotland is a sovereign nation, with a right to self-determination.  We should not be seeking permission to hold a referendum but asserting our right to do so.

“ What is required now is a clear determination to face down Westminster, through if necessary, a Scottish Constitutional Convention of all of Scotland’s MSPs, MPs and

Council Leaders so that it is not just the First Minister against the Prime Minister or Holyrood versus Westminster but a whole nation asserting the sovereign will of the Scottish people.”

  • “The Treaty of Union made provision for the termination of the treaty by protecting certain immutable rights of the Scottish people in terms of our legal code, constitutional rights and much else besides in Article 19.” (sic)

The above statement is legitimate and is quoting from the actual Union Treaty…
The Lord Advocate (1953) pointed out there was no equivalent in Scots law of the English law constitutional practice of “The Crown in Parliament” as the people of Scotland are sovereign – given legal status by the Claim of Right 1689 (which remains “in law”)

These facts are readily available for most of us to review and react to, as all of Scotland’s population are free to do, if and whenever they may wish… Scotland’s population are all soveiryne including our Scottish politicians.

  • The whole concept of another country deciding if an adjacent country can or cannot exercise a choice of self determination is absolutely outrageous.

To say that a country, a people have no right to choose, not now, not in ten years. not ever.

Someone once said that only a slave may not withdraw their Labour. Well equally, only slaves have no right of choice, no right of self determination.

As for Sturgeon she is but a Gauleiter in the pay of the coloniser.

  • Can’t wait for movement of some kind (any kind) to be made towards Scotland’s independence.

If Sturgeon doesn’t want to go down in Scottish history as our No 1 Traitor, she must make a legitimate move NOW.

    • Sturgeon will not make any positive move towards securing independence.

She has shown by her actions these last eight years that she is not just lack lustre but actually pursuant of actions that undermine the movement to Independence.

A National Investment Bank, a State owned power company, support for Brexit, acceptance of the removal of Scottish Parliament powers – the UK internal market bill.

Acceptance of fuel poverty in a land of plenty, the sell of of wind rights, the acceptance of the fabrication of windfarm components such as jackets, towers, blades d tjrbine, being manufactured everywhere but Scotland whilst our yards, manufacturing perishes.

Or the NHS, education and the other important bread and butter essentials. Not exactly performing either.

So what is it these well paid SNP MPs and MSPs are delivering.

Zilch, nada, hee haw, nothing. Troughers, and the heart sick ele to rate know it.

Ah well, as incomes, pensions, savings tumble as prices soar as the NHS fails, we can all have a long cold winter in our fuel poor houses to think about it.

And one last thing. From tomorrow all elective surgery in England and Wales requiring blood support is cancelled for the next four weeks to to blood stock shortages. Most very probably exactly the same in Scotland just that Tsarina Sturgeon is keeping the lid on it.

I wonder however if anyone can explain why this first ever Amber Blood Alert has arisen. Could our blood donations be being sold to support the Ukrainian war effort.

Like gas, there’s big money to be made in times of shortage. I mean our gas is sold whilst we go cold. Or is it just underfunding because the big red NHS Brexit bus has gone missing.

Ah well, just saying like, just saying.
