According to the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, living standards for all UK families are set to fall by 2030, with those on the lowest incomes declining twice as fast as middle and high earners. It is hard to square that with the constant stream of lies by our present UK Government. Every single day on social media and in articles in their tame newspapers they are telling us just how wonderful things are under this latest London metropolitan neoliberal government.

The facts say the exact opposite. Life is to get tougher for all the citizens in the British Union.Throughout the last years of the English Tory Government’s tenure there were thousands of people telling us we had to get rid of the Tories.The one I remember most is Carol Vorderman. Every day she urged the nation to get rid of Sunak and his party. Every day she listed details of failed policies of possible corruption and nepotism. She pointed out all the lies that were being told to the nation. Life would get so much better under a British Labour Party she and others told us. How often have you seen Carol on line these days showing us all the benefits of her wisdom and The British Labour Government?

Every week on Through A Scottish Prism we expose more and more lies of the Labour government. They promised to save the Grangemouth Refinery. It’s closing! They promised they would protect the Winter Fuel Allowance.It has been removed. The said they would compensate the WASPI women, then told us the nation couldn’t afford to do what was right!

What they did find money for was, of course, war and killing! Since July 2024 they have managed to find £12.9 billion to give to the regime in Kiev. They have found money to increase defence spending. Starmer indeed was very proud of himself when telling Parliament. Let me spell it out, that means spending GBP13.4 extra every year on defence.” That is extra spending, not the total amount.Spending plans set out in the 2024 Autumn Budget show that defence spending is expected to total £56.9 billion in 2024/25.

This latest UK Government, which is only nine months old is already hugely unpopular with the Union’s voters. If a UKGE was held tomorrow, the Labour Party would be trounced at the ballot box. The latest polls suggest that the largest party would likely be The Reform Party of Nigel Farage.

The likelihood is that we would see a Reform/Tory coalition. There are some, especially those on the extreme-right that would welcome that government. The tragedy is that the public would without a shadow of doubt very quickly be as disappointed with that combination just as they are just now with Labour Government and the Tory Government before that.

Changing out one London metropolitan neoliberal political party for just another London metropolitan neoliberal party is no change at all! You would think that everyone living in the UK of voting age would already have worked that out. As Einstein famously said, “Repeating the same behaviour and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity.”

 

Since 1979 with the arrival of in the UK of Thatcher we have been headed in the one direction. More and more extreme capitalism.When these neoliberal capitalists talk about returning to the ‘good old days’ they mean Victorian times. Those times when the workers had no rights, where the working class and underclass knew their place and showed deference to their betters.Bringing back forelock tugging as a strict adherence is the elites wet dream!

That is why they like the idea of 15 minute cities. It is not to make the lives of the masses any better. It is to give the superwealthy exclusive zones where none if the great smelly unwashed proletariat cannot enter, except in the capacity of indentured servitude.

The establishment politicians, speculators and spivs take great exception to ever being challenged or questioned. They truly believe they are above the norms of society the rest of us toil under. That is why the people who profited from Covid criminality never face justice. The same for the massive corrupt overspends on Government infrastructure projects like HS2, Jubilee Line, Crossrail, Track & Trace. Hinckley NPP. No-one is ever held to account. It is why no bankers went to jail after the 2008 bank crash! There is indeed one law for the haves and another for the have nots!

An example, A woman who wrongly claimed to be single for the purpose of claiming benefits has been jailed for 22 months and banned from applying for social housing. Mother-of-seven Chloe Embley, 37, falsely claimed £94,063 in income support, housing benefit and council tax benefit, Burnley Crown Court heard last September.
Embley claimed the benefits between 2008 and 2012 by claiming to be a single mother, when in fact she was living with her partner.

I am not condoning Ms Embley’s actions I am merely pointing out that those with the least always face justice the haves rarely do. Rather topical this week if you live in Scotland at present!

With the advent of Internet we the general public now have access to information that prior to 1998 was hidden from us.It is why the establishment hate social media and citizen journalists. It is why they want to censor what we can see, read and know and more importantly say or write. They hate accountability!

Western society has been programmed over the years into believing that everything is the best. Our form of government, our capitalist economies, our judicial system. We have been told we are the good guys and that those that do not succumb to western imperialism and neoliberal economics are our enemies.The nations that refuse to be conquered or exploited we are told, are evil, undemocratic, lawless and want to harm us.

The truth is greed is the problem not just in the UK but throughout the entire western world.This manifests itself in what you see today in Palestine and Ukraine. These two wars are western elite greed wars. They are all about land and natural resources. The message the elite send is it is about protecting democracy and tackling terrorism. The truth is it is the west that is a terrorist and undemocratic.

That is why when you question the genocide in Palestine you are labelled an anti-semite. It is the same when you point out the extreme right-wing make up of the Kiev regime you are a pro Putinist. Even although we can source the evidence to the contrary of the government message, they attack those that dare question them!

Here is a fact for all who live in Scotland. The Union is a failed project. Whether or not you support independence, the UK is not fit for purpose. Changing out government’s every 5 years does not change the conditions for the ordinary folk. It just gives a different set of establishment grifters a turn at the trough.

I personally believe in ending the entire Union. I think the nations of these British Isles would all be better off as individual nation states of Scotland, Wales, England, and a United Ireland. That is, the majority of the population would be better off, the 1% and their puppets, not so much!

To have any chance of survival, the British Union requires radical and immediate change. That is not something the ‘haves’ will never contemplate! I would suggest trying something really radical and never before tried in the Union, democracy!

We need to get rid of our neo-feudal system of governance. It is a pretend democracy. We get to vote every five years this helps to keep up the pretence of democracy. However to be a true democracy we would need many changes to the present system. A written constitution, a bill of rights, an elected head of state. A fair voting system of true PR. An elected second chamber. State funded elections and a banning of lobbying. This, of course, will never happen, so ladies and gentleman that leaves us Scots with one option only, Independence nothing else!

For that to happen, we need the entire Independence movement to unite as one. No more putting political parties first. It is time to put the nation before anything else. If not
