The recent revelations regarding the sex survey of schoolkids some young as 13 has caused outrage. This latest survey by the Scottish Government was meant to be kept secret from the parents. Like so many of these gender policies of the SNP secrecy seems to be the key word.
Generations of parents have always tried to impress upon their children that keeping secrets from mum and dad is wrong. Educating them that anyone telling them to keep secrets from their parents is usually a person with sinister motives.
In recent times we know that the Scottish government are wanting to encourage children as young as four to embrace a different gender. There has been a move to prescribe puberty blockers to under age children again without parental consent or knowledge.A 70-page document issued recently states that under new LGBTQ+ inclusivity guidelines created by the Scottish government, teachers are now urged not to question their students if they indicate a wish to transition genders. Instead, teachers are urged to ask the students new names and pronouns. John Swinney when Education Secretary was even boasting about this,
“I am delighted to announce we will be the first country in the world to have LGBTI inclusive education embedded within the curriculum.”
The guidelines state that there is no age requirement for “coming out,” and the views and requests of the young people should be respected—even if the students do not want their parents to be informed.

Several Local Authorities have thankfully halted the questionnaire in the face of a parental backlash. That the Scottish Government wanted this all done in secrecy is both worrying and sinister.
One of the questions asked of pupils in S4 and S6 – probes people’s varying degrees of sexual experience, with multiple choice answers including “oral sex” and “vaginal or anal sex.” Wanting to know how many times, any of these have been experienced and from what age. Others quiz teenagers on contraception methods and what age they were when they had sex for the first time.
How many 13/14 year old virgin boys, are going to admit to this in a school survey form? How many young girls, that have had sex will want to admit it in this way? Have we all forgotten peer pressure? How reliable will the data actually be to the government.
Apart from the angst at asking these very personal questions of children as young as 13 or 14 parents want to know to what purpose are such questions being asked of to under age school children?

One SNP Councilor from Oban who was berating anyone for daring to question this SNP school sex education survey. On Twitter she was asked the very same question being posed to the children. How many times in the past year have you had anal sex? The said Councillor took great exception to being asked such a personal question and promptly reported the inquisitor to the Twitter administrators to have them banned. She obviously has had an irony by pass, talk about a lack of self-awareness!
The really scary thing about this survey is that the data is not confidential. Just think who could benefit if they could get a hold of this information on under age kids, sexual habits true or exaggerated to impress their peers.

The question many parents have been asking the most is, what do the Scottish Government intend doing with this data once it is collected. By not involving the parents and explaining the thinking and reasoning behind this survey, suspicions unsurprisingly have been raised. The Scottish Government/SNP outrageous bullying campaign against anyone questioning the GRA Reform Bill is another reason people are uneasy over this, survey.
If there is good reasoning, then share it with the parents. Explain why you need this explicit information on pre pubescent children. Reveal the long-term advantages, that promoted this in the first place. Secrecy, children and sex is not a good look. If ever a government needed to be transparent in its dealings this is it! Don’t mess with our kids!

If there was a good reason for this sort of questionnaire they’d surely tell us, right!?
On the contrary, as the Oban councilor’s reaction clearly suggests, these are unusual questions to ask even of adults (without a very good reason). And in the absence of a very good reason for asking minors it is hard to avoid the conclusion that this is some sort of grooming whereby introducing the idea that they might already have had sex, of any kind, normalizes what has, so far at least, been seen as a crime for any one under the age of consent.
Sure they’ll tell us it’s about stopping abuse. If so are the surveys also accompanied by something to let the kids know these things are still illegal and advice on who to contact if they are happening?
