Salmond invokes spirit of the referendum to rally independence campaigners in the city of Discovery as sensational new poll shows Alba on course to help deliver Independence super majority.
ALBA Party Leader and Former First Minister Alex Salmond will rally Yes campaigners and Independence supporters today (Tuesday) in Dundee City Square, Opposite the Caird Hall at 4.00 pm.
Speaking prior to the event Mr Salmond said:
“People power and grass roots activism holds the key to this Election. The sensational new poll shows ALBA on course to win seats in every region of Scotland and to help deliver an Independence Supermajority on 6 May.
“The SNP have no chance of winning list seats in the North East of Scotland or indeed in any other region based on this latest poll. ALBA are rising in the polls as Yes voters come to realise that an SNP vote on the list is a wasted vote. Only a vote for ALBA on the list can deliver an Independence Supermajority.”

Setting the heather alight, Salmond-style.
Amazing how, when Scots see Salmond once again being excluded or bad-mouthed by the media, they’re instantly suspicious? Also amazing how a positive campaign based on positive facts – as was our oh-so-close Referendum – can chime with ordinary Scots punters?
Folk aren’t stupid – maybe a wee bit slow on the uptake at times – but they know when the anti-Salmond brigade start to spitting feathers that something doesn’t ring true.
Nice to see so many polls on Twitter beginning to show that Alba is the natural, sensible choice for the savvy pro-indy. I think it’s important to challenge those accounts continuing to promote the senseless ‘SNP 1 & 2’ message: yes, I know many – probably the majority – are the Murray Foote crew, but there are a great many who check the comments and replies, and when the genuine fence-sitters and the undecideds see the facts laid out and see how the reasoned, level-headed answers are presented then it’s a potential vote. For me, not to inform or respond at all to misinformation is a missed opportunity.
Also good to see the continuing full-on campaign of pro-Scottish information from our committed bloggers, relentlessly pushing and informing and not letting-up – what a breath of fresh-air that’s proven to be.
Charge-on.
If as expected the SNP fail to win any list seats, then of course ALBA will be blamed, with those shouting the loudest failing to realise or admit that ALBA has probably saved them quite a few constituency seats Many ALBA voters who will now hold their noses would otherwise have not bothered to vote at all. Fact. It’s weird how all fury has been directed toward ALBA, with nothing said against their Green chums, who are actually threatening significant damage to the cause by contesting so many constituency seats. IMO Alba will not even impact the Green list vote, since most ALBA voters would steer well clear of that party on a good day.
