This was a week of realisation for anyone that didn’t believe that Scotland is a colony. From the mouth of Ed Milliband came the confirmation of our colonial status as Scots. He said, “With Zonal Pricing Scotland’s energy costs would be unfair to the Midlands and South of England and would risk their competitiveness.” England must be competitive, Scotland shouldn’t be competitive!
Scotland produces so much energy that we export to England around 25% of their total requirements, free of charge of course!
Milliband, backed up by his tame House-Jock, Michael Shanks, told us that England was more important than Scotland. Inside this so-called voluntary union there is a pecking order and it reads, England 1st, 2nd and always, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland be quiet and get up the back of the bus.
House-Jock Shanks also told us this week that there is no such thing as Scottish wind, only GB wind! There are no Scottish waters, only British waters.We assume then that there is no Scottish Oil & Gas, only British Oil and Gas! British Whisky, Gin, British Salmon or Calamari etc.What we do have of course, is Scottish debt, not British debt! They are Scottish ferries, not British ferries, you get the picture.
A classic case if what is yours is mine and what is mine, is mine from Mr Milliband and the British Government.

Another cracker from the House-Jocks this week was that Scotland’s ideological opposition to nuclear power stations was preventing us getting cheaper electricity!
This is the level of contempt that the British Labour Party in Scotland has for the Scottish people. In the same week where their English masters have been openly blatant in their imperial view of Scotland, the Vichy are trying to get us to build dangerous and very expensive nuclear power stations to feed England even more electricity while Scotland gets to keep the nuclear waste and the high bills!
If these two acts of overt anti-Scottish practice doesn’t fire up the rebel in you then nothing will!
We also get to discuss the polling this week that shows Labour are losing their core and longtime voters because of their actions and inaction in government. A feeling by hard-core life long Labour voters, 63% of the 7,000 surveyed, said that they believe neither Starmer or the Labour Party respect people like them or their wishes. That now 4 out of 10 that voted for them at the UKGE in 2024 will never vote for them again.
22% of Labour voters who have supported them since the 2010 UKGE will never vote Labour again!
The biggest reason people gave for turning away from Labour is broken promises and U-turns on previous commitments.
Take away Labour and replace it with SNP, and ask yourself, would the results be much different? We asked that of our panel, see if you agree or disagree with them!

The thing we really need to understand, if we are to get anywhere with independence, is that England has ten times (and still growing) our population, and, therefore, decisions will always be made that suit the larger population. It makes no difference how many natural resources we have, that will always remain the case.
We will have to learn to be smarter than we have been to date and start fighting with the weapons we have, not the ones we wish we had, at our disposal. We need to campaign radically at the very earliest hint of change coming our way. For example, we were told that Aberdeen would net hundreds of new jobs, but past experience should have told us that they would never materialize.
The whole point of the internal market, uk-wide framework is to suck everything into the vortex that is England, with its massive population. We know already that we are going to be hammered: we have stood back and watched huge pylons and substations being built on our land, pipelines and cables being laid under our waters, to facilitate the removal of our renewable energy (and other energy sources further of Scotland) where it will be transported to the North-east (mainly) of England before being processed, thence to be distributed in the South-east and other parts of England; and it will be bought back by us at exorbitant cost.
We need to get through to the foreign companies overseeing all this that, on independence, we will be in the market to renegotiate contracts to our own benefit, and we really do need England to understand that as well. We do not need to be overly aggressive about it all, but we do need to be very firm on this point. England, whatever happens, will remain our neighbour and it will still want to trade with us, as will other countries.
Scotland used to be a country of entrepreneurs, of inventors, of engineers, of scientists. Lately, we have become that pathetic creature, the boxer who used to win and now just absorbs the punches and gets a small handout for taking the punishment. I think that something is going to give – but in England, not here, not yet. When England starts to rip itself apart, and it will, sooner rather than later, Scotland must seize the opportunity and save itself. In the longer term, England will survive, just as we will, and we will all be better off for seeing the end of the Union, and that includes the Welsh and Northern Irish, too.
