In the realm of conflict reporting, the glaring absence of truthful narratives often leaves audiences misinformed and bewildered. This week’s midweek Through A Scottish Prism show aims to shed light on this pervasive issue, promising to inform many while inevitably unsettling some.
One glaring example of this misinformation is the reluctance of Western political establishments and media outlets to condemn certain actions, such as Israel’s actions in Gaza or acknowledge the harrowing reality of ongoing genocide. Similarly, the lead-up to the Ukraine war and subsequent events have been shrouded in partial truths and biased reporting, favouring the narratives pushed by powerful interests.
Enter Chay Bowes, an Irish journalist and geopolitical analyst, whose dedication to impartial reporting has earned him recognition and respect. With a Master’s degree in strategic research and a wealth of experience, Bowes has been instrumental in uncovering corruption and shedding light on the true motivations behind conflicts.
Bowes, through his platform, ‘The Ditch’, and his role as a correspondent at RT International, has tirelessly worked to present a balanced perspective on conflicts often overlooked or misrepresented by mainstream media. His efforts extend beyond mere reporting, Bowes actively engages in humanitarian work, aiding civilians affected by conflict and advocating for their voices to be heard.
Central to Bowes’ message is the idea that all wars, regardless of justification, deserve condemnation. However, he emphasises the importance of presenting both sides of any conflict in a rational and even-handed manner. This commitment to truth-seeking has led him to address the United Nations Security Council, where he highlighted the role of Western weapon supplies in perpetuating the Ukraine conflict.
Through Bowes’ insights, audiences are urged to critically evaluate the narratives fed to them by mainstream media. He exposes the vested interests of Western munition companies and Ukrainian oligarchs, revealing the complicity of taxpayers in perpetuating conflicts they may not fully understand.
Through A Scottish Prism’s call to action is clear, listen to alternative voices, challenge the status quo, and empower yourself with the truth. We believe in a world inundated with misinformation and biased reporting, it is essential to seek out diverse perspectives and voices and to make informed judgments.
As the midweek show unfolds, we encourage you to heed Bowes’ message, question everything, and make up your own minds about who is truly telling the truth. Only through a collective commitment to truth and accountability, can we hope to navigate the complexities of global conflicts and strive for a more just and peaceful world.

“he highlighted the role of Western weapon supplies in perpetuating the Ukraine conflict.” So you want Ukraine to be forved to surrender to Russian imperialism, to become a Palestinie or Bantustan with what territory Putin will leave. The fate of the poor Chechens is a precedent.

Brilliant show/interview , Roddy . Hearing someone as honest and articulate as Chay describe the reality of life in Russia , the thoughts, feelings & perceptions of it’s people is like news from a distant star – such is the relentless , insane – yet sooo effective – Anti – Russia propaganda . People like ourselves know politicised vitriol when we see it , alas , far too many don’t ; and to hear so many pro-Independence supporters ignorantly parrot the complete distortion of reality that is the UK/US/EU * version * of the Proxy War ( and Gaza ) is particularly dispiriting .
We can also recognise Truth when we see/hear it . It’s what Chay was speaking . Thanks for having him on ; excellent contributions from yourself & Lloyd as ever .
Very informative show, thanks guys.
