The last scene in the great Jim Carey movie The Truman Show is in my opinion a true piece of cinematic brilliance. For those unfamiliar with the film Jim Carey is an insurance salesman who is oblivious of the fact that his entire life is a TV show and his family members are mere actors. As he starts noticing things and uncovers the truth, he decides to escape. The last scene sees him ascend a set of stairs from a pretend sailboat and ocean to a set of stairs that leads out of the studio set.

Before he leaves he has a last interaction with the shows creator played by the equally talented Ed Harris. As the realisation of it all dawns upon Truman he asks the ‘Controller’ “Is nothing real? The reply he receives is , “No more truth than the truth I created for you.”

Wikipedia describes the film as an ‘American psychological comedy drama film.’ Today as I look around the world I am starting to believe we are all living in a neoliberal psychological drama. We, like Truman in the movie are being lied to constantly. We are being told of a false world with everything engineered to keep the truth from us, lest we like Truman discover the truth and walk off the set.

The false narratives are everywhere. Anyone can become rich if you just follow our rules and work hard, no dissent, no questioning of the system, just play your part. The reality is the game is rigged, it is all a lie. Black is white and white is black in our world. Indeed, if the Controller decides white is purple then the entire establishment and its media machine will insist white is in fact purple. If the Controller says, men can be women if they want then that is a fact, not a scientific impossibility. It is all Trumanesque lies! We have seen it with our own eyes. However, we must believe the controller or be marginalised and cancelled!

Very, very few can ever realise the dream of vast wealth. Our King is one of the richest men on the planet. How hard did he work to amass his kind of wealth?Remember, he inherited over £1/2 billion tax free from the Queen to add to his already existing wealth. Not only do we give him £86.3 million tax free every year from our taxes. He pays no taxes on any unearned income, unlike us mere worker drones.He also earns money from vast estates and even our seabed. Sounds like really hard work to me!

Hugh Richard Louis Grosvenor, 7th Duke of Westminster, is a British aristocrat and so-called ‘businessman.’ He inherited his title and control of the Grosvenor Estate, then worth an estimated £9 billion, from his father in 2016. As such, Grosvenor is one of the biggest property owners and one of the wealthiest men in Britain. How hard did Dickie have to work to amass that £9 billion do you think?

The reality is that 99% of the population are two or three salaries away from poverty! We are programmed to believe it is necessary to own our own home if we want to be one of the good little middle class Brits. One of the in crowd. An Englishman’s home is his castle and all that!

To that end you need to get suitable employment that allows the banks and financiers to deem you a suitable person to have a mortgage in the first place. Then to repay that mortgage to the City of London financiers you need to make sure you keep earning.To keep earning you need to keep following the Controllers rules be quiet, obey, and pay your mortgage to the financiers.

A £100,000 mortgage on a fixed 7% rate on a 30-year mortgage will set you back approximately £665 each and every month, meaning for each 100k you repay approximately £240,000 back to the financiers. Tell me how hard the moneylenders work to make such huge profit? Then think of how hard you need to work just to keep a roof over your head!

That said, how much house can you now get for £100k? The average British house price reached a record high of £375,131 in May, according to Rightmove. In Scotland it is appreciable lower.Data recently published by Registers of Scotland (RoS) shows the median cost of property in Scotland (whole market – all property types) was £185,000 in 2023/24 while a new-build home averaged £300,000.

The median pay for all employees in Scotland in 2022 is £27,710 and Scotland has the fourth highest median gross annual salary of the nations and regions of the UK.Still short of the earnings to qualify for a mortgage to afford £185,000.

Just to survive and be a good citizen and comply with the narrative to ‘own’ your own home you need to earn a lot of money. It is why so many people nowadays have two and three jobs, it is just to survive. It is also why the birth rate is so low. Couples both need to be working just to keep their heads above water.A child would disrupt that flow of income. Those same incomes that ultimately find its way to the City of London. To those Spivs that work so hard, being nothing good more than glorified moneylenders!

The reality is it will be 25-30 years before you truly get to own your own home. Till the mortgage is paid you don’t actually own the property the financier owns it. The bad news is, he also owns your ass!

By the time the mortgage is paid you will have outlived your usefulness to the financiers and those that control us. Your employer will probably have replaced you with a younger worker drone too.All of those years killing yourself to own a home so you can be a model citizen.Then for how many years do you get to enjoy it?

Should you a few years after you pay off the City of London financiers for your home you just need to hope that neither you or your partner needs a nursing home. Because to pay for that care once you have exhausted your life’s savings, the Government will take away your home as payment for that care. NI payments pah! The government will then give your home to the City of London financiers to find another 30-40 year worker drone. The profit always goes one way, and that is to the 1%!

Worse still, if somewhere in that 30-40 year mortgage cycle your circumstances change and you cannot meet the City of London mortgage payments, what happens?

Simple, UK Finance reported there were around 90,700 mortgages in arrears of more than 2.5% at the end of June 2023. Around 1,100 properties were taken into possession in the quarter ending June 2023. Every quarter a similar number are repossessed. As the Labour Party austerity bites in the coming  months and years that number will rise dramatically.

The effect of losing your home can be catastrophic for the families concerned.It is of no concern to the financiers or the Controller. Homelessness, shame,damaged self-esteem, marriage break up, addiction, children taken into care. Devastating for the individuals. Some never recover, and there can be lifelong repercussions, leading to suicide, and mental health issues aplenty.

What of the financiers? Don’t worry about them they already have made their money back and more. They will resell the property hopefully to another Truman type drone for another dripping roast earner. At worst someone like the Duke of Westminster buys the property at a knock down price which still yields a profit to the financier and the Duke. Then the Duke or some other wealthy landlord can rent the house out at an exorbitant rent to a homeless person/family. The state might even pay that rent direct to the landlord. Usually at a higher cost than the original mortgage payment!

So that this fate does not befall you the average person complies to the Controllers narrative. They won’t question the story that the economy is so bad they have to accept no pay rises, work longer hours, take fewer holidays, accept low or no sickness pay. Sick pay that won’t even cover your mortgage or rent costs anyway. You have no alternative except to keep working like a good little drone!

When they tell us things are so bad and say it is because horrible people are arriving on our shores illegally from across The Channel. They insist that is the problem.This they tell us is why we need austerity.Bad Johnny Foreigner!

The Controller says it is not because of the greed of the financiers or the wealthy.It is not because of neoliberal economics and neocon wars! No if you cannot pay your way, it is your fault, take another part time job. Sell off something. Whatever you do, do not question the narrative!

Have you noticed anyone who demonstrates or marches against wars or genocides or factory closures is said to be bad? The Controller tells us that workers ‘make demands’ and  the bosses ‘make offers.’ People like Mike Lynch of the RMT are ‘controversial’ ‘far left’ ‘uncompromising!’

We are also told that anyone that seeks independence is just a hate filled Jock that is anti-English.The Controller tells us England subsidises us ungrateful Jocks! GERS ya bass! Stay in your lane and be silent!

If you don’t accept Israel can murder at will and dare to question the Controllers narrative about October 7th and self-defence you could end up being called an anti-semite, a jew hater and be cancelled possibly fired from your job. None of the ‘good guys’ want to employ anti semites just ask Jeremy Corbyn or Dr David Miller.

So question nothing and keep paying that mortgage or private rent. You know what happens if you are unable to repay the City of London financier of your home. You know exactly where that leads. So keep your head down and work hard. Do not join a Trade Union they are bad and question nothing the Controller ever tells you.

UK Energy prices we are told are based on global gas prices. However, in Scotland we do not need or use ‘global gas.’ We have more than enough gas and oil and electricity for our own needs. In fact we generate enough hydro and renewable electricity to power every household in Scotland and still have so much left over we can afford to export enough capacity to power 4 million English homes. That export incidentally earns us Scots nothing! The Controller and his mates however will make £ Trillions from it!

We Scots pay the highest energy prices in Europe.This week we have been told we have to expect to pay 9% more from October for our energy requirements. Putin, Iran, asylum seekers, greedy train drivers, immigrants, independence supporters, the unemployed, pensioners, remoaners it is all their fault. It is not the fault of the financiers and elites and it is absolutely not the greed of the few!

Just like the Israeli government and IDF, our financiers, bankers, bosses and government are the most moral Spivs on the planet! Believe, comply and stick to the script or else. The meme below sums it up perfectly!

So when they tell you it is not a genocide, you better believe them, or else you could be in trouble. When they tell you that China, Russia, Iran and socialism are you enemy,  you have to believe them. When they tell you trickle down economics works and is in your interest, you have to believe them. When they tell you the problem is Islam and Scottish independence you have to believe them.

When a Scots born English Nationalist self proclaimed journalist like Magnus Linklater writing for the London Times proclaims, that Scotland’s problems are because Scots have been living outwith their means you are to believe his lies. You cannot ask ‘why is it when we have a block grant set in London and are forbidden from borrowing or running up any debt can we be in any debt? That is a No No question!

It is all part of their Truman type script. Everything is scripted to keep us in line and in the 1% Elite show. Without us and our compliance there is no show. Like Truman we can escape, however, like Truman we have to look at all that is happening around us and reach that realisation that it is all one big fat lie! We have to escape from this man made hell all by ourselves,nobody is going to rescue us or change the script!

George Orwell got it right, he was only wrong with the timing.

 

Once enough people realise it is all false and just a way of controlling the masses to allow the Controller and his friends to steal then a change will come. We all have to be like Truman Burbank and find the courage to leave their scripted neoliberal Union shitshow!
