I only caught the end of this when it was live (I’ll catch up with the rest now you’ve published it) – I had seen that horrifying clip of the gentleman questioning Swinney about the content of their ‘sex education’ in schools, last year I think sometime. I hadn’t been sure about who the chap was and the veracity of his claims (though none of it was denied by Swinney there, but it seemed outrageous), so I had looked him up and he’s the leader of the Family Party, a fairly fundamental Christian political party with some policies that I definitely don’t agree with. What he had also posted – I cant remember now if it was a blog or on Twitter as I’ve long lost all the links – are some of the videos that they show to schoolchildren – if you want to be really shocked, watch those – the one encouraging the watching of pornography is quite sinister feeling.
The questioner’s funamental Christian ideology doesn’t mean that what he says or has posted isn’t true, but I hadn’t looked into it further at the time because no one else seemed to be mentioning it & I had become sceptical – it truly is shocking (particularly when you see the videos, if you can find them – which surely should be freely available if they are educational material – they are just people talking mostly, not graphic) and surely parents would have been outcry if it was happening? I can’t believe any teacher would accept it was suitable material for children, of any age, and certainly not primary school age. Pornography causes harm – and you’d expect teachers to be teaching adolescents about safeguarding themselves against it on Internet searches – NOT actively encouraging raking through the Internet for it.
I’m sorry I don’t have any of the links now – I’m pretty sure I just did a search on the guy’s name – which I’ve forgotten now too! – and you should find the further information. I’d prefer to see a teacher or a teachers union or school verify this is really what they present in school – though, if it is, it would explain some of the huge rise in the phenomenon of (and harm and death from) ‘rough sex’ and of youngsters feeling pressured to post compromising pictures of themselves – if young folk find out about sex through Internet in the main, and being given confusing messages at school.
It’s not good, and very disturbing. I’d have expected parents up in arms before now, though, so why not? I’d really like to hear more opinions on the matter.

Roddy, this is a copy of a comment I posted in reply to another written in the National. The video you shared in the prism has been on the go for quite some time now. The original material mentioned by the angry parent I believe to be unsound. Before I paste my comment I want to make it clear that I am no fan these days of either John Swinney or the new SNP. I am a founder member of Alba. I have no axe to grind. I just wanted to get this information out there.
A., I am a retired teacher and was shocked when a union supporting friend of mine called me to discuss this video about a year ago. I couldn’t believe what she was telling me. I checked the Scottish Government ‘s site to see if the learning outcomes and attainments had changed dramatically in the fairly short time since I retired. They hadn’t. I checked with a friend who is a depute head in a primary school. He had no idea what I was talking about. I think it is highly suspect considering it was a unionist who first brought it to my attention. I think it is spreading misinformation in order to discredit John Swinney and the SG. I also speak from a lifetime’s experience when I say that it would be very difficult if not completely impossible to find a teacher who would be happy to stand in front of their class and ‘teach’ some of the things that the irate parent mentioned in the video. I’m going to copy and paste this to Roddy’s site.
Jan thanks for your comment. Firstly let me say it was unfortunate our guest last night that supplied us with the video was unable to actually be interviewed. She was having horrific Internet issues and we just could not get a stable connection. That said, tonight I am having a one to one interview with Eileen which I hope will clear up any doubts or suspicions. I would though say this, when we received the video and saw it’s very delicate subject it had us wanting to check it out before broadcasting. That John Swinney actually eventually addressed the gentleman and said that the materials had been reviewed by expert outside agencies and were ‘age appropriate’ (I’m paraphrasing here) but he ‘acknowledges that it is a difficult subject that had to be addressed given the age we live in’. If John had denied it was happening or the claims were bogus then we would not have aired the video. The opposite of you, we have had a couple of teachers saying they are indeed being trained on these subjects and in the main they are scared to speak out. This fear is understandable seeing the Stonewall tactics that are deployed against women campaigning against Self Identification and the GRA Reform.This SNP Government have sidelined many women in their own party for speaking up to defend women’s rights Joanna Cherry being the prime example though there are many others. Meanwhile the SNP leadership is overruling its own members votes and appointing those that do buy into this Woke ideology. Please watch tonight’s interview and make up your own mind. It is certainly how I intend to conduct the interview.
Thanks for your response Roddy. It is indeed horrifying. I’ll watch tonight’s interview, it should make interesting viewing. As a teacher, I would have made a stand against this garbage and I was the designated one who taught the older pupils their health and well being because it didn’t embarrass me in the slightest.The world truly is going mad, being led by the woke brigade into all sorts of dark places.
I presume they will get in some one else who has been trained in the dogma to teach it. The rest is all common knowledge, some women groups shared the documents a year or two back. Remember the sex-dice game that was not a conspiracy theory. The plan was to have no parents involved. The guidance may have changed since then but by putting Somerville in charge of education and Spear as Women’s Convenor is it obvious this hasn’t disappeared. If this video goes on twitter there are bound to a few knowledgeable women giving us the latest.

Jan as Roddy has responded to your comment , if you look at previous through the prism videos you will see a guest person (sorry don’t remember her name ) who worked within education and social work who commented on this very situation and was outraged that this was being pursued and implemented
This whole sexual education freedom is IMO being used as a diversion for some very deviant predatory behaviour , as was commented on WOS there appears to be a move to have what they call MAP ( minor attracted people ) or as they were previously called paedophile’s to become acceptable to society , HORRENDOUS
Denise: I have strong doubts that the 2004 GRA is still extant. Other, later legislation, I think, has rendered it redundant: same sex marriage legislation and data protection legislation. It would, on that basis, be morally corrupt, if not downright illegal, for the SG to continue with reform to a redundant Act. It is in the legal arena, mainly, that this stuff will require to be fought, and it might be worth having a legal expert look this over. If this is brought into dispute, so will all the rest: self-ID; ‘a trans woman is a woman’; trans women in all-women areas of employment, et al.
The trans lobby has not afforded women and girls one iota of consideration; we should expend no more energy on caring about their feelings. There is no middle ground now. The middle ground was lost by the woman and man in the street long ago. Basically, the trans lobby is using this 2004 Act to bulldoze its way through women’s sex-based rights. Gaining access to our safe spaces and rights is its priority – at any cost to women and girls, and it is now time to ask why? Trans people must now campaign for third spaces. We would back them on that, and that would be the compromise, the middle ground. If we give way even marginally now, with the usual ‘just be kind’ nonsense, we will lose everything: our safe spaces; our rights; our concessions. They want them all. Everything. Some even want us totally marginalized again, while they take over our biological niche as one half of the dimorphic human race. Make no mistake.
Feeling sorry for those who would push you out of existence is to be scammed and duped with your own connivance, a pitiable condition, and one that can be applied equally to our national consciousness, so stupid have we been when our own interests as Scots are at stake.
