It wasn’t until 1928 that women under the age of 30 were actually given the legal right to vote in the UK. That is the time when the limited United Kingdom democracy as we know it, began. It isn’t though real democracy, only a pretence. As long as we have an unelected Head of State and a second chamber of unelected toadies, a FPTP voting system you cannot call it a true democracy. There would need to be many other components before it even gets close. A written constitution, a true proportional voting method, parliamentary committees with teeth and accountability. A modern-day parliament with 21st century working practises. The removal of all lobbying groups, state funded elections with tight controls. The inability of elected representatives to hold external directorships or part time jobs.

All of that of course, is as unlikely as finding a Tory with a sliver of compassion. Therefore this broken down pretendy democracy staggers from one crisis to the next unabated. In my near three score and ten I can hardly remember a time when the UK was not either entering or just coming out of a recession. The ruling elite only ever has one plan, screw the poor and reward the wealthy and that will somehow right the sinking ship. Boom and bust, boom and bust it is the UK way and it is always the less well off that pick up the tab and have to tighten the belt!

In those 92 years since universal suffrage Representation of the People (Equal Franchise) Act 1928 there has never been a more incompetent English imperial government. Boris Johnson has managed to assemble a group of corrupt crooks, cretins, clowns and cuckoo crazy swivel eyed nut jobs to be his partners in crime in this Tory Government.

Never has more state money been stolen, wasted, and frittered away. To use the parlance of the present English Prime Minister, daily his crime syndicate spaff £billions up the wall and into the bank accounts of the posh crooks Panamanian bank accounts. This is only possible because our ‘British’ media which is in the hands of a few right-wing off shore, tax avoiding extremists prevents the true scale of the corruption to be known by the public at large. The vast majority of British households are oblivious to the extent of the corruption or the pending disaster. I have often opined the biggest crime of the media, and Broadcasters is not their blatant bias which is of course, legendary, it is what they do not tell the people about this corrupt union that allows these crooks with posh voices to get away scot-free with their blatant criminality and our tax £s.

The Brexit farce has for the first time exposed the sheer incompetence, dishonesty and stupidity of the English ruling class to the outside world. While the British Media may lie, connive and protect these cretins, the world’s governments and media offer no such protection. All of the UK double dealing and law breaking has been exposed in Brussels, Berlin, Paris, Rome, Washington and throughout the globe. Any government now stupid enough to enter trade talks with the UK knows that the word of an Englishman is no longer his bond. The Brexiteer fanatics have trashed the English/British brand completely. The world now knows that the Brits will break agreements if it suits them. They now know that this British Government has no regard for International Treaties or laws.They all know you cannot trust them at face value.

In just 24 days time, even our corrupt British media will not be able to hide the Brexit Armageddon from the British public. Reality is about to meet the English exceptionalism and rhetoric head on. There will only be one winner and it won’t be the Brits. When the No Deal or Shit Deal Brexit kicks in the full horrors of the folly will unfold. No amount of spin, X-Factor, Strictly Come Dancing or Premier League Football will hide this shit storm.

Empty supermarket shelves, medicine shortages, redundancies, business closures, house repossessions. If you thought 2020 was a bad year, you ain’t seen nothing yet!

On a positive note, when you sit down to your Sunday lunch of boiled grass and potato peelings you can gain comfort in knowing that the 1% has doubled, trebled and in some cases quadrupled their wealth. Perhaps some will trickle down to you! Then again, probably not.

This is one made in UK crisis that cannot be easily fixed by simply changing one English neoliberal political party for another. The damage of Brexit will last for decades to come. Even Jacob Rees-Mogg in an unguarded moment suggested it could take 50 years, for ordinary Britons to see any Brexit benefit. For the rich and disgustingly wealthy Brits on the stroke of midnight on December 31st. 2020 they will feel an immediate and massive increase in their personal fortunes.The rest of us will just the feel the cold blast of more struggle and hardship.

The people of England sadly have no escape from this pending apocalypse. The Celtic Nations, however, do have a small window of opportunity to escape the biggest shock ever to the British economy and our way of life. The key though is, ‘a small window of opportunity.’ Time is an enemy. The English Imperial overlords of Scotland have signalled their intentions for years. The 3,000 UK Civil Servants have been recruited, the English Governor’s Office has been purchased in Edinburgh. The cloak of legality, the Internal Markets Bill is making its final passage through the English imperial parliament in London. Scottish democracy is fragile and about to be stolen. The phrase devolution is merely power retained is about to be displayed. The real power retained at Westminster is going to be used against Scottish democracy. Holyrood will not be officially closed instead it will be neutered The corrupt media and the House-Jocks will lie, deny and aid in this democratic outrage. The Scottish Parliament will be reduced to the same status as an English County Council. Any protest by our elected representatives will be called out as blame shifting. The foreign owned media will assist the overthrow of democracy.

In years to come, if something doesn’t change, and change quickly a new Dark Age will descend upon Scotland. Our present leaders will write their memoirs with hindsight, finding ways to justify their inaction that allowed this to befall our nation. Taking responsibility is not something politicians like doing. They love taking credit and selfies but not any blame or criticism.

I truly believe we now only have days to save our nation. Waiting until May 2021 to get another mandate and then appealing to the deaf ears of the English Prime Minister is a recipe for failure. More than ever I now believe that literally in the next few days, our only course of action is to tell the people of Scotland and the rest of the world that May’s election will be an Independence plebiscite. It matters not a jot if by May, county council status has been bestowed upon Holyrood. We will have laid down a democratic marker that is also a legally binding election. By then Westminster may have introduced a Bill that prohibits devolved ‘regions’ ever again holding referendums without the express wish of London. We need the voice of the Scottish people to resound around the globe. This affrontery to democracy, The Internal Markets Bill will hold no water with global opinion if we act now! To delay another day is folly. Time is of the essence. I can see no other alternative if Scotland’s democracy is to avoid subjugation by the English Parliament. I can see no other escape route out of this accursed union, if you have any better ideas we would all appreciate hearing them now. We need to act immediately and as one, procrastination is the thief of all time! The time has come for the Scottish lion to roar!
