Sex:-either of the two main categories (male and female) into which humans and most other living things are divided on the basis of their reproductive functions.
Their meanings are different things just as adult female woman and adult male are two different biological beings. Some though today are trying to rewrite science and biology in particular to convince you that really these two words are the same and you should all just accept this is fact and not question the wisdom of your government on this.
When the Unionists in Scotland want to distract the people away from reality, they use deflection tactics to try and push us away from the true situation. Eventually, us independinistas ridiculed this tactic down to,’Look, a red squirrel’ so every time the House-Jocks try to hide their true intentions and the truth the ‘squirrel’ jibe is deployed.
The SNP Scottish Government have a similar tactic to divert our attention. It goes like this,’just look at the polls, wheesht for indy.’
I should be writing about the defence of our Parliament, and democracy from the imminent Tory power grab. Believe me, I would if only our SNP Scottish Government was actually doing something to counteract the Tory battle plan. Sadly, they are not, today instead of discussing how to get Scotland out of the English Empire our brightest and best will be debating the, Forensic Medical Services(Victims of Sexual Offences) (Scotland) Bill.
The most contentious part of this proposed legislation is the part that deals with replacing the word sex for gender. On the face of it, it may seem not worthy of note, sadly our SNP Government have form with gender politics. Our leader who began out as a feminist has switched horses to full-blown Gender warrior.
The bottom line in practical terms is that this SNP Scottish Government wants to redefine the meaning of gender/sex. They want us to believe that sex and gender are one in the same. They also want us to believe that if someone decides to just change their gender it is OK. This would mean in a case of rape a victim requesting a female examiner they could be forced to accept a male examiner providing that person had decided to refer to themselves as a female gender. Biologically they might still be male but in this alternate SNP Woke universe that is not the case, reality is replaced with ideology and dogma.
Johann Lamont, not someone this writer has much in common with has tabled a six-word amendment, “for the word ‘gender’ substitute ‘sex’”.
This is one of those rare occasions when I can recommend a unionist amendment to an SNP Bill. It is a simple and straightforward sensible word change. The SNP’s own Committee discussing this bill recommended the use of sex, not gender. The leadership for reasons of ideology we can assume ignored this sensible advice.
Later today the Holyrood Parliament will be asked to vote on this Bill and the Lamont amendment in particular. I would counsel all SNP MSPs to back the amendment.To do otherwise might please the SNP leadership and wokes, however I can assure you it will upset the majority of the SNP support.
Here is that cautionary tale. As recently as last month the SNP ended its candidate selection process and elected a new NEC. In both instances the small but vociferous Woke contingent were routed.The not so silent majority in the SNP membership had other ideas.
Lots of people try to tell you and me that social media is just a bubble, a tiny echo chamber with no real impact in the real world. The virtual wipe out of Woke Holyrood candidates and their removal from the NEC says something completely different.
There is a reason why companies like Cambridge Analytics came to prominence. Why do you think the UK Government have an entire Army Group, the 77th Brigade working 24×7 on Internet communications?A substantial proportion of the Tory Dark Money goes on funding keyboard warriors. Governments throughout the globe devote massive resources on Internet communications and intelligence.
The UK government and now sadly increasingly the Scottish Government attack and try to demonise those on the Internet that dare to question their actions. In Scotland the SNP the party of Independence refuses to interact with the pro independence media because they cannot control it in the manner that today they are controlling their own MSPs to vote down the Lamont amendment.
The SNP preferred giving a £3million Financial stimulus to the Anti-Scottish MSM rather than extend a hand to pro-independence media. SNP MPs and MSPs attack those of us who do not blindly follow every action of the SNP Government. Wheesht for Indy is the new SNP credo.
Females make up 52% of our population and more importantly from an SNP point of view, 52% of their potential vote. I would gently remind every single SNP MSP today learn from the Candidate selections and the NEC Elections. Your base is not backing this woke agenda. There will inevitably be consequences if you do not listen. Just ask Alyn Smyth and his Stirling cabal if you don’t believe me.
I often say, no matter what happens with this present Sturgeon led SNP the Scottish people are never going back to voting and supporting unionism. They might though, just like in 2017 decide next May not to bother going to the polls. They might decide while they may never vote unionist they will not elect people that voted down women’s hard fought rights.
They may decide to only vote on the List for an independence Party that does support those same women’s rights that they fought hard to get and want to keep! I would gently chide the SNP, do not underestimate the wrath of your support on this issue. To do so may put back the cause of Independence for decades to come. Independence is a given it is no longer an if, the only question now on Independence is when. Ignore the grassroots at your peril!

100% correct and spot-on, let’s hope for another social media victory and another nail in the present leadership coffin. At present we have a leader who is a dead man/woman walking. Let’s hope this legislation will be another step towards putting her to rest.

I only found out about the amendment at the weekend and immediately emailed my MSPs, except for The Speaker. So far, I have had 1 reply from a Tory MSP which came back within 12 hours of my email. From the rest, nothing, although Ross Greer has been emailing me about backing his election campaign. I hope for the best, but expect the worst, as I can’t see the SNP voting for the amendment, despite how wrong the change to “gender” is. It’s using people, who are at one of the most traumatic times of their lives, for political ends, as it defies the legal terms in the Equalities Act, thus changing the Act by the back door. It goes against everything I believe in in healthcare. Much as I want Independence, I’m beginning to wonder what else I am going to have to sell my soul for!
I have already emailed the MSPs for my constituency and list asking if they were going to vote for the amendment and that if not they would not be getting my vote next May.
As expected no answer except a cut and paste acknowledgement.

What really infuriates me is that this is not even a matter of equality, because trans people have equality as far as that is possible within human rights and equality legislation. If you are claiming to be something that science and biology says you cannot be, doesn’t the trans lobby think that just a wee modicum of proof might not go amiss. In what other situation do we simply believe what is in someone head? The standard of proof is on the ‘balance of probabilities’, and it doesn’t meet even that. Maybe some day someone will come up with some proof, but, until then, we cannot be making laws based on, and reflecting, someone’s feeling in their head.
How did we get to this point. One particular female makes a point on threads in The National, and elsewhere, that she has no fears for her rights as a woman in relation to trans women. No, on the face of it, why would ‘women’ be any threat to ‘women’? It is the old joke: when is a door not a door – when it’s ajar. Many – most – of these trans women will be natal and biological and physical males. Essentially, they will be men in frocks and high heels and make-up. None of them will ever have known what it is to be a small female child, a pre pubescent girl, a teenage girl with periods, a young mother trying to juggle childbearing and a job, a middle-aged woman entering the menopause, a woman losing her breasts or womb to female cancers…
None of them will ever have known what it is to live your whole life as a female, with all the expectations that bear down on females in every era and society, rather than as a male. None will know the fear that enters your mind when you walk down a dark street on your own, knowing that your lack of strength could mean death or assault because – entirely because – you are a female person, that you are seen as prey by some predatory men. How dare they say that they are women. They can only ever imagine they are women, and imaging you are something can never make you that thing. What they imagine must, because they are not women, be what their male mind tells them is a woman – often a busty, pouting-lipped, big-haired, big-bottomed, false-eye lashed, mascara-ed caricature of a ‘woman’. That, in itself, is insulting to the women who look nothing like that, like some porn star, like some idealistic male version of what they, as a man, believes a woman should be. The misogyny is puke-inducing.
This needs to be fought in the courts and proof demanded that, in the ‘balance of probabilities’ this person might be a ‘woman’ in his mind, but can never be, legally, in his biology, that sex and gender cannot, and should not, be conflated. Otherwise, the trans ideology is going to oust women from every right they have won, from every safe space they currently occupy because of their sex, and society will implode under the stress that this will put on every service known to humanity and civilization.
Well last night’s vote for the Johanna Lamont amendment left no doubt whatsoever as to what the members thought of the Government’s bill. Over 100 members for and 9 against. No wonder Sturgeon and the few remaining MSP’s went into hiding and did not vote.
The scale of the vote for the amendment to the Government’s own bill was breathtaking. The rout of the NEC before it was breathtaking, as was the rejection of woke candidates looking to be selected to stand for Hollyrood.
Sturgeon’s independence lite stance, her focus on GRA and Hate Crime legislation, her utter inaction on Brexit and a collapsing economy, her disregard for the castrating U.K. internal Market Bill is now being exposed, and exposed utterly – as is her foul part in the Alex Salmon stitch up.
With the huge turning of the tide against the FM and her coterie of control it is difficult to imagine how she can last much longer in post. There is much work to do and we must get in with it, and we will. Independence is within our grasp and NOW is the time.

By all means it will sit here as your opinion. I tend not to block views unless obvious trolls, idiotic Yoons or GRA zealots. I cannot personally agree with the threat to withhold our votes from the SNP. I have as you know advocated and continue to advocate for a May plebiscite, however withdrawing our votes would only allow a unionist cabal to possibly gain control. On top of Covid and Brexit I cannot think of anything worse for the people of Scotland this would turn a catastrophe into a slaughter of the millions. My advice is to push for the plebiscite that is exactly what I will be doing.
