By now you will all know that Yestival has been postponed until 8th October. Apparently the police are unable to guarantee public order. They should, of course, be embarrassed however it seems this police force and this Chief Constable are incapable of being embarrassed.
Earlier today a good reliable source sent me this private message on Twitter.
“Roddy, underground scuttlebutt – Union Bears and BNP & EDL being bussed in to cause unrest at Yes Event in George Sq. Apparently Polis have refused to supply additional cover for Alex…. Be Careful out there just in case it turns out not to be rumour.”
It turns out the police intelligence picked up the same gossip about these extreme right wing British Unionist extremist thugs. These are the same vile people that on September 19th, 2014, ran amok in Glasgow City centre assaulting and beating anyone they saw with a saltire.
Who can ever forget the two lovely sisters surrounded by a baying mob of Brits while proudly holding their Saltire?
This early evening I received a message from Tommy Sheridan to inform me that the police had withdrawn their permission for Yestival to go ahead this weekend. They cited a fear of public disorder if this annual family event went ahead. We know that the YES Movement for over ten years has held countless public meetings, marches and gatherings. Literally millions of YES people have taken part in towns and cities throughout Scotland. After the marches they even clear up their own litter. In all that time there has not been a single arrest. There is no drunkenness. There is no urinating in the street. There is no standing outside places of worship singing and chanting inflammatory sectarian or racist insults. There are never any fixed penalty notices.
If only it were so when the British Nationalists take to the street!
This British rabble with their union flags and sectarian chants always cause unrest mayhem and public disorder. Wherever they go trouble abd violence follows. In July this year the British Orange Order were up to their usual civil disorder.
SEVEN people were arrested yesterday during the Orange Order walks in Glasgow.
Officers made the arrests on July 2 while thousands gathered to march in celebration of the anniversary of the Battle of the Boyne.
They also issued 12 fixed penalty notices.

We have a police force and Local Authorities that allow these marches in their hundreds every year They never have a problem that forces them to cancel these open sewers of British Nationalism bigotry and thuggery. The police force that cannot tell if £ 600k of money missing from the SNP accounts has been embezzled, stolen, lost or placed in an offshore bank.

The real reason police in Scotland are cancelling is not because of violent pro-English establishment supporters but because they are promoting the monarchy and union. The establishment never really expected us to take this route, though I rather think our own Toom Tabards in the Lords had an inkling that they needed to have the Treaty done and dusted by changing it to a domestic law document. We were wise to that, so, now, they use the word, ‘Act’ at every opportunity to muddy the waters. They are two monarchies invested in the one monarch, but, just as the Union (1707) was the political union that retained Scottish nationhood, so the Union of the Crowns (1603) was the union of two royal houses that retained the Scottish throne so it would not be a case of accepting an English monarchy, albeit I am certain that Charles, like his mother, would prefer it if the two unions continued.
We could not have known that the Queen would die so suddenly, and in Scotland, but I would suspect that she knew she was dying and chose to do so in Scotland, albeit the royal family usually holidays up here at this time of year, in order to try and appeal to sentiment to keep the UK together. They haven’t survived this long without being astute as to their own interests. We should be astute as to ours and take our Proclamation and case on the Treaty breaching to the UN ASAP, but not till the funeral is over if we want maximum coverage and minimum backlash. I take and agree with all your points here Roddy . Maybe we should have advised everyone who intended to attend YESTIVAL to wear rainbow coloured clothing and have their pronouns in prominent display – then the Polis might have been more focused on allowing it to go ahead , rather than the feeble excuse they were incapable of actually doing their job and making absolutely sure none of the thuggery threatened was possible .
That said , it may be better that it’s postponed until the current tsunami of Monarchist sycophancy has ebbed . I’ve seen comments from Indy supporters saying the same ; the bus the Inveryes group organised to take people to the event had to be cancelled due , in part , to people pulling-out , thereby making the idea unfeasible , and this was before the official announcement it had been rescheduled . I had planned to take that bus . No big deal , I’ll just make my own travel arrangements .
Thing is …..what if there are more * threats * , will the Police continue saying they are unable to contain them and insist the next date is also cancelled ?

I’d tend to agree, Robert, and I’d also tend to believe that the police are not so afraid of what independence/republican supporters might do, as they are fairly sure of what the Union flag wavers will almost certainly do. This has also been borne out at various rallies that gender critical women have organised: the police will not protect the women, but allow the thugs to intimidate at will. It might be because the police are Stonewall-captured and establishment-captured, too – which they are – but it is also because they do not want to confront these thugs.
The absolute, brainwashed (in both cases) ideology of these people means that they are far more unpredictable and potentially violent. They know that Scots of an independent mind and women are peaceful. Not even the police these days want to stand between peaceful gatherings and ideologically insane thugs willing to do what it takes to shut people up. Let’s face it Police Scotland is inherently a unionist police force; I have a neighbour who is a police officer, and the person is a zealous unionist, and a bitter supporter of a certain Glasgow football team. Only recently Saturday I think, Police Scotland invoked Section 12 of the Riot Act to prevent a march in the Calton area of Glasgow, a march that was agreed with Glasgow City Council, apparently the police commander has now been reporter for his attitude.
My point being we are up against multiple layers of unionism in Scotland, from the top down, from Sturgeon to her Lord Advocate, to Sir Ian Livingstone and his officers, and of course the unionist foot soldiers who carry out the violence.
I’ll never forget those young ladies in George Square that night, having our flag ripped out their hands and torn up by the unions Nazi saluting unionist thugs. Since Sturgeon took the reins as FM and leader of the SNP, it is the indy movement that has suffered from persecution.

And there was King Chuck over in Northern Ireland today crowing on about how his beloved mama thought every day about all of the people of Northern Ireland and how she prayed for them. That of course would be the protestant ones and not the Catholic ones if I’m not mistaken.

Writing an article based round that premise is a strange thing to hang your reputation on, but its a free country.
As it’s reality and a free country, Police Scotland provide support to the wider policing community on these islands, while still providing service for the people of Scotland. This isn’t a new thing, nor controversial within SOP.
Stop seeing fascism under every shadow and in every reflection – project frustration at perceived injustices by all means, but to contrive constantlly to link each one to the next is lazy, illogical, ideological, inciting and most certainly insulting to self and others for no tangible outcome once Sunday 18th stops.
When was the last time any reader sought remedy in the Court of session for ‘evident’ failure(s) of State or petition to the monarch directly?
I advise everyone to listen to the Orders in Council affirmed at Accession Council & read the transcripts of each – the words are few and unambiguous in *meaning and effect* in each; you might realise that the ‘thing you seek’ is closer than you thought possible, with further Orders expected re the administration of the *union of the crowns* and ‘the new constitution of’ when normal service resumes for King & Privy Council (who cannot speak to private matters of the monarch)
