In a few short days both of our Parliaments will return from recess.
Holyrood with one hand tied behind its back will continue to try and improve the lives of all Scots, new and old, pro and anti-independence alike.
Westminster with all the levers of power except the ones they thought unimportant back in 1999 will continue to work exclusively and as hard as it can for the Tory Party and its backers.
The main focus of both institutions over the coming weeks will be Brexit.
Holyrood will be doing everything it can to halt a Brexit of any kind to protect all of the people.
Meanwhile, Westminster will be stretching every sinew to ensure we have Brexit with or without a deal so that a few can avoid any tax scrutiny by the EU.
I think it is now certain that we will leave on 31st October.
What I do not know, nor does anyone else is will it be with a ‘deal’ or hard Brexit.
The Tories have few options, the easiest of these being Hard Brexit which would appease their hardcore right and the racist numbskulls throughout the land.
This action would, of course, quickly result in a huge backlash when the reality of that insane action starts to work through.
Empty supermarket shelves, hunger, no medicines a breakdown in society does not help you win future elections.
Option 2 is to come up with a form of words that can be spun to the plebs that Boris has won major concessions from the nasty EU and the WA as is sneaks through at Westminster.
This avoids the most drastic outcome and gives the Tories two years to negotiate a FTA with EU that overcomes all of their Backstop problems and allows them to claim victory over Johnny Foreigner.
The third option is probably the best, except it gives them a huge political problem with the DUP.
The new EU Border becomes the Irish Sea and again gives London two years to find a solution to the British Border in Ireland.
This was Theresa May’s original plan and acceptable to all parties except, the No Surrender DUP dinosaurs.
They refuse to accept any differences in the British Union except for gay marriage, abortion, bonfires, all citizens are equal or belief in the world only being 4,000 years old.
Boris will need the help of the ERG and members of opposition parties to pull off options 2 & 3.
There are enough in the Labour Party that hate their own leader enough to join forces with the Tories.
It won’t be the first time Labour MPs have helped the Tories.
We all know that many of the Tory Austerity measures only ever made it through the house because of Labour abstentions or votes.
Then we have The Liberal Democrats, their Leader is more Tory than many of the Tories sitting on the government benches.
Do not be surprised if, as with tuition fees the Libs suddenly flip, in the national interest of course!
However, Boris plays it I am as certain, as certain can be the UK will leave the European Union on 31st October.
That then leaves Scotland with no choice other than call an Independence Referendum.
I truly believe that there have been many discussions with our European partners on the best way forward for Scotland to receive EU support and recognition.
Whenever and however we hold our referendum with or without the Section30 it is important the result is recognised by the world community.
Many people truly believe it is imperative to have the English Parliament’s approval.
I am not one of them.
The SNP, Scottish Government have been extremely careful in their words and actions since June 2016.
They have offered concessions, a plan, alternatives to the madness of Brexit.
Each and every time they have done this Scotland and its government have been ignored by London.
I am certain that their actions and words have not been ignored in Brussels.
The Referendum Bill going through Holyrood at present is very carefully drafted to give absolute ‘legality’ to any resulting plebiscites.
I am sure in consultations with our European friends this is to ensure after a YES vote the European Union and all its members can instantly recognise the legitimacy and outcome of the result.
This makes it almost impossible for any London Government to try and ignore the outcome.
Should they do that or try any type of intervention they will incur the wrath of the 27 EU nations and severe sanctions would surely follow.
The RUK for at least the next 50 years will be in no position to fight against a united EU .
This would equally apply to countries outwith the EU that value the trade and diplomatic clout of the EU.
I know many of you just want to get on with it and frustrations sometimes get the better of our rational thought process.
There are lots of paid trolls and unionist agitators around looking to deepen any divisions.
This is why on matters like Self-ID or the possibility of Police Scotland being pushed to supply officers to patrol the British border in Ireland we must remain calm.
We must not let our genuine concerns on these or any other matters be used by those that would try and divide us from our main goal.
Every other matter is secondary to the goal of Scottish Independence.
The rest we can sort later.
I truly believe there is a grand plan and it has been carefully worked out with our European neighbours and friends.
We are in the final straight let us stay strong and united now is not the time to stumble.
It is a matter of weeks before we are likely to be called to action.
Be ready my fellow Scots, our moment of liberation is almost upon us.
Beautifully laid out and very much to the point. Westminster has spent years honing the “divide and conquer” mantra. They have applied it to every country which had the temerity to want to throw off the shackles, and now, the thought of losing their large Scottish piggy bank has them waking up, shrieking at night. They cannot be allowed to pull the same tricks again. As you say, we need to keep calm, trust that our Government are, once again, way ahead of them and be ready to get our running sannies on fast when required!
I have never doubted the SNP’s commitment to Scotland and Independence,never. The union is dead at last,resurrection impossible and Scotland is on the cusp of attaining all that her people deserve- absolute sovereignty and fair,honest control over all powers that will deliver the country,society that has long been aspired too.Have no doubts people ,keep the faith and don’t for one nano second let the bastards think they can divide and deflect us-the future is most definitely ours.Saor Alba🏴

I detect a distancing from unionism among some careerists.
It’s almost as if they are adopting a wait and see position with one eye on their future careers in an Indy Scotland.

I have been thinking along these lines for a while now. The Scottish Government and EU are noted by their absence to be drawn into the fray of the unionists, where it be politicians, journalist or industry moguls.
I remember clearly the plea that Alyn Smith gave in the EU Parliament after the result of the referendum in 2016 and I am hoping that our friends in Europe are ready to stand by our side when the time comes, as they have with Ireland over the last couple of years.
But I am also so thankfully for blogs like this one where we have people that help us keep the nerve in such trying times. It would be so easy to loose faith with all the shrieking and wailing that is going on just now by the unionists. So thank you from me. You are doing a great job.
