CAROLINE MCALLISTER the former National Women’s Convener of the SNP, will contest the West of Scotland Region at the upcoming Scottish Parliament elections for the Alba Party.
The West Dunbartonshire Councillor has relinquished her National Office Bearer position on the SNP’s ruling National Executive Committee, to transfer to the Alba Party to help deliver a supermajority at the upcoming Holyrood elections.
The move comes on the back of the SNP’s National Equalities Convener, Lynne Anderson, also resigning from the SNP’s ruling executive body to contest the Scottish Parliament election for the Alba Party.
Commenting Cllr Caroline McAllister said;
“I am delighted to join the Alba Party. As a Councillor, and the former SNP National Women’s Convener, I’m really looking forward to working with my colleagues in the Alba Party to ensure women’s rights are front and centre of the new Scottish Parliament I hope to be a member of.”

Webcom Radio is Now Playing:
Women deserting the SNP in droves. You would think that the SNP would get the message.
I’m not surprised at both Caroline and Lynne – especially after they were silenced at the NEC meeting.
It’s shaping up to be quite a party.
Partaigh Alba is certainly lining up a slew of talent and we await with great excitement the announcement of the remaining candidates.
The party is in fact doing a Candidate Launch on Thursday. This aside of media coverage will be available to watch online on the party’s web site.
For me, like so many, the launch of ALBA is an absolute shot in the arm. Like brining the walking dead back to life I cannot tell you how happy I am to have my party back, my movement back. These dark years of an SNP stuck in the doldrums going no where, letting the cause die is now over, and ALBA have set the strategy to win.
SNP1 and ALBA2. It’s simple. Let the SNP max the constituency seats and ALBA max the regional seats – with the result of a supermajority. How could anyone, save a unionist, not be ecstatic about that!
Two parties with the same objectives the current sourness by the coterie of wokes will soon be gone. Supplanted utterly by the joint electoral mandate of a supermajority of seats. This development has been a long time coming.
The Westminster establishment is about to be hoist with its own petard.
We now have I believe not just the new Alba Party, but also what will quite quickly be a reinvigorated SNP with Partaidh Alba right by its side and in a parliament that will have a super majority voice capable and skilled to secure our independence.
