Allan Petrie the Chairperson of Glenlaw House Parent/Carer support group calls on Shona Robison MSP to withdraw the claim she made in Parliament today from her statement on the GRA.
Mr Petrie said, “during Shona Robison’s speech she said, and I quote, “there is no evidence that predatory and abusive men have ever pretended to be anything else to carry out abusive and predatory behaviour” I would be very surprised if Shona Robison as a Minister within the Scottish Government did not know that police Scotland and schools constantly remind children that some people who they may talk to online may not be who they claim they are, they could well be predators and should tell their parent or other trusted Adult if this happens. Surely Police Scotland and the teaching profession would not say this to school children if there was no evidence to both prove it and make them concerned enough to drum it into pupils for their safety.” Mr. Petrie continued it is important that we do not have misinformation about predatory actions being spread therefore Ms Robison should withdraw those remarks Immediately.”
Mr Petrie also raises concerns regarding the attempt from Ms Robison to reassure carers about intimate care for our loved ones by suggesting that she will place within the guidance of the GRA that same biological sex carers can be requested for intimate care, Mr Petrie said, “this is not enough guidance is neither mandatory nor Law I therefore call on Ms Robison to amend the proposed bill to include the right to same biological sex for intimate care and make it a criminal offence to refuse, elderly, disabled and their families must have the protection of law and not the goodwill of guidance.”
Ironically enough March 3rd, marked the first anniversary of Sarah Everard’s abduction and murder by police officer Wayne Couzins, ‘pretending’ to uphold the law.
Shona Robinson is either breathtakingly niave, stupid or simply gaslighting the population on an industrial scale.
I frankly despair at the quality of Politican operating within the Scottish government.
We all know predators graduate towards organisations or sectors that provide access to potential victims.
Sex abuse victims, who have suffered at the hands of men pretending to have an altruistic interest of boys, have resulted in Boy Scouts USA paying damages of over $800 million. Meanwhile Girl Guiding UK has departed from its historical policy of ‘Women’ only to allowing trans identified males (self identifying as such) to volunteer as Guide ‘leaders’.
What can possibly go wrong?

How sly and sleekit is this govt. When things go terribly wrong which is what will happen they will say, no this was only guidance, we can’t be held to account.
Nally Anders: very well put, Shona Robison in presenting the bill for GRA reform lied brazenly to Parliament and to the people of Scotland, the fact she is a woman and mother to a daughter demonstrates just how callous she and the Government she serves in has become in relation to the safety and welfare of women and young girls.
It is of no real consequence as to whether she believes in the content of the presentation, Robison delivered it and from that perspective her right to remain in Government office is no longer tenable. It is no secret the cover she received from Sturgeon during her tenure as Health Secretary led in no small way to the disintegrating standards in Scotland’s health system through an ineptitude which she continues to display in her current role.
