This week Wes Streeting said, “The SNP is an existential threat.” How I wish that were true. This coming Tuesday John Swinney will lay a motion before Holyrood; it is called ‘Ambitions for Scotland.’ Contained in that motion is a plea to Westminster to grant Holyrood the right to a Section 30 independence referendum.
Sadly, it is most certainly going to be rejected out of hand by imperial Westminster. Anyone who thinks differently, do get in touch; I have a bridge for sale.
Every English Prime Minister since 2014 has made it very clear that never again will the English parliament at Westminster agree to such a referendum. Simply put, they won’t because they know that given the opportunity, the Scottish people will vote for liberation.
There is no doubt that with the help of the Greens, the SNP will get their motion approved by Holyrood. In any other normal democracy, this would give such a motion a chance of success.
However, we in Scotland are locked tight into a semi-feudal autocracy, not anything like a democracy. Our imperial masters will easily ignore the democratic wishes of the Scots.
You have to remember this parliament in London has for years ignored the will of the United Nations when it comes to matters like the genocide in Palestine or the illegal war today being waged against Iran. So to expect them to play fair by one of the last remaining English colonies is fanciful.
The big question on everyone’s lips should be: ” When the rejection happens, what will the SNP Scottish Government do?”
Will they just hold up their hands in despair and say “well we tried,” or will they actually do something more radical?

I am sure we could Usurp the Devolved Scottish Parliament, it is after all the Scottish Citizens that are Sovereign, not the Parties, Parliaments or the monarch. So on Tuesday 26th May 2026, to the day that the Scottish realms were found by Sir Walter Scott in the bowels of Edinburgh Castle, would be a fitting start for the Parliament of Scotland to be reconvened, where everyone has to make the Scottish Pledge to the People of Scotland who are Sovereign.
Meeting Scottish Parliament 18:00hrs – 1930hrs let us make this happen, John Swinney has been served the Salvo Papers last week prior to him being sworn in as First Minister so has sworn the oath to a forign Parliament and a non existent King.

Surprised Angus seems unaware that no other country on earth would ever dream of using a local government/municipal franchise for a vote on a critical constitutional matter, either by referendum or plebiscite election.
The referendum question is also wrong, it should be for sovereign Scots to leave or remain in the UK ‘Union’, the same as for Brexit.
The main problem with a referendum or plebiscite election on such a major constitutional matter, however, is it will again be ‘managed’ and subject to what the UN terms as ‘external interference’ by numerous actors and agencies from outside Scotland, both overt and covert.
A more sensible solution is to decide the matter via oversight of United Nations agencies to ensure all these and other issues are dealt with in advance. This fits with Liberation Scotland’s petition to the UN to have Scotland Listed as a Non-Self-Governing Territory.
That petitioning is what Swinney’s administration should be supporting and lobbying for, not wasting their and our time pleading with the coloniser for ‘permission’ to hold another opinion poll.
