FROM NOON WEDNESDAY.
Every edition of Prism we have a title for the show. This midweek we dedicate it to the memory of Aaron Bushnell. Yesterday I wrote an article regarding his bravery and huge sacrifice outside the Israeli Embassy in Washington DC. I expressed concern that the western media and US media in particular would minimise or even ignore the statement young Aaron made this week. His final words of Free Palestine do not fit the narrative of the US Government who not only support the Israeli genocide of the Palestinians they make huge profits from it too. Every bomb that lands on innocent civilians in Gaza the MIC cash registers ring. Every bullet that slices through a child, means, chi ching in the good ole US of A!
I was right to be concerned the US and UK media had dropped any reference to Aaron within hours of his death. We in the non corporate, independence media value the life and the ultimate sacrifice of Aaron Bushnell and we dedicate this episode to him.
Operation Mockingbird: Unveiling the Dark World of Media Manipulation
I am joined by Lloyd Quinan and Anas Altikriti our opening topic is this very incident and the shame of the western press. We hear how the global south is carrying the story and giving it the prominence it so richly deserves.
We have a discussion on the present situation in Gaza. A UN report this week suggests that transferring of weapons or ammunition to Israel likely violates international humanitarian law. We ask will the US, UK and EU nations respect this international law?
Brazil has recalled their ambassador from Israel and the Irish Senate has voted to block US weapons transiting through Ireland on their way to Israel. We ask is this a trickle that might become a torrent? Why does the Scottish Government not impose a similar ban on US weapons transiting through Prestwick?
We discuss the two state option that is always used by western governments as the solution to this 75 year old problem. We ask is there an alternative and if so what is it, and how likely is it to succeed?
Join us and join in the discussion as Through A Scottish Prism brings you an alternative view from the news and opinion you receive from the corrupt corporate media.
Webcom Radio is Now Playing:
RIP Aaron Bushnell, I’m afraid that your death is in vain. Your president has no intention of changing Americas stance, this isn’t mans darkest hour, its America’s.
The so called leaders of the free world would rather see the Palestinian people wiped out than say to Israel STOP. I can’t believe that last month the ICJ didn’t call for a HALT to the conflict but instead allowed it to continue, please someone tell me where was the benefit to anyone for doing that?
I feel totally helpless simply because 1 Scotland isn’t independent and 2 we are run by a complete and utter moron of a government that could do the right thing for Scotland never mind anyone else.
Its deliberate how its all colonial Country’s or those who occupied someone else’s country are standing by watching and aiding genocide.
