FROM NOON WEDNESDAY,
Ann Wright is a retired United States Army colonel and retired U.S. State Department official, known for her outspoken opposition to the Iraq War. She received the State Department Award for Heroism in 1997, after helping to evacuate several thousand people during the civil war in Sierra Leone.
Part of her Army work was special operations in civil affairs. In the event of invasions into other countries, Wright helped to develop “plans about how you interact with the civilian population, how you protect the facilities – sewage, water, electrical grids, libraries…It’s our obligation under the law of land warfare.
For 16 years, she served as a foreign diplomat in countries such as Nicaragua, Somalia, Uzbekistan, and Sierra Leone. She was on the team that reopened the US Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan in December, 2001, after the fall of the Taliban to US forces.
However, on March 13, 2003, the eve of the US invasion of Iraq, Col. Ann Wright sent a letter of resignation to then Secretary of State Colin Powell. She felt that without the authorization of the UN Security Council, the US invasion and occupation of an oil-rich, Arab Moslem country would be a disaster.
She has spent the time since as an anti-war activist. Listen to her story and her views on present day USA and the genocide in Palestine and the war in Ukraine and what can be done to bring about peace.

Interesting interview telling how the US has plans for intervening in every country in the world.
To what extent they have plans for Scotland I don’t know but the UK certainly does have plans for, and is actively intervening on Scotland.
And they are doing so at every level.. That is what fascist volonial states do.
But maybe a more light hearted example of a fascist state and how it considers its old people in receipt of a, state pension.
Here is a comment from the editor of the Telegraph.
” As we have been reminded, new clause 34 will give the Government the right to inspect the bank account of anyone who claims a state pension, which is all of us. It will give the Government the right to look into the bank account of every single one of us at some point during our lives, without suspecting that we have ever done anything wrong, and without telling us that they are doing it ”
Now what do we make of that folks and all of those in receipt of a, state pension. You, all thirteen million of you are suspected criminals of the state with no rights to privacy, and where the state, contractors on behalf of the state, plus artificial intelligence searches will be able to prowl your bank accounts.
Frightening eh. Like animals poor animals in a pen.
And as an aside, with your grey hair Roddy, being of pensionable, age, and because of your political blogging I suspect they’d love to have, a good rumble about your finances just to see if there’s, anything of interest.
Otherwise have, a good Christmas, a good New Year and keep going with the Prism. You are after all a Prisomer.
