7TH POLL SHOWS ALEX SALMOND’S ALBA SET TO WIN SEATS
The SNP is heading for a fourth term in office in Thursday’s Holyrood election with Alex Salmond’s ALBA Party helping to deliver to Holyrood a pro-independence “supermajority” of between 25 and 29 seats.
The latest polls by Panelbase for the Sunday Times and BMG for the Sunday Herald sees the SNP set to win an outright majority in its own right and represent the 6th and 7th polls of the campaign to show Salmond’s newly formed ALBA winning representation to the Scottish Parliament.
This poll like past 7 projects the SNP will not win any regional list seats whatsoever underlining the ALBA argument that SNP list votes are wasted
ALBA wants the Scottish Parliament, with its supermajority for independence, to instruct the Scottish Government to commence independence negotiations with the UK Government within the first week after Election Day.
Commenting Alex Salmond said:
“ALBA is rising. Our activists are campaigning hard across Scotland and we are confident that as the only party injecting urgency into the independence cause during this election, our message is gaining ground. Nicola Sturgeon is simply wrong to suggest delay yet again in the move for independence. In reality independence is essential to the reconstruction of the Scottish economy post pandemic.
An SNP regional list vote is a wasted vote across Scotland and they are set to win zero list seats on Thursday. It is now vital that to ensure a big Supermajority, with independence supporters giving the SNP their constituency vote but backing ALBA on the list. Today’s polls show that the independence supporting MSPs could potentially reach 80 or even more.
Once the people of Scotland have spoken on Thursday no British Prime Minister will be able to stand in our way, if we make independence a priority for the here and now, not the hereafter”.
If they make it a priority. Therein lies the problem. SNP don’t want competition in the parliament so will gladly sacrifice indy for another term in office under the management of s foreign country’s government if they think they can get it. Every party knows that they have a limited amount of time in office before the electorate grows weary and elects another party into office. The SNP are on borrowed time. They know it and so do most folk who pay attention to these things. You would think they would therefore push indy and unity with all indy parties and supporters to at the very least point to the effort they made before being replaced or at the most return the pro-indy parliament, reassert Scotland’s statehood.
I hope ALBA get a few seats on Thursday – I hope they get more than a few
But if they only get one, please Lord let it be Alex Salmond’s – I cannot wait to see Alex back in Holyrood demanding that the Scottish Government get on with achieving our Independence instead of faffing around, dangling carrots in front of the YES movement and morphing into unionists before our eyes
So come on ALBA, as many seats as you can but come on Alex, we need you back !
I don’t think you will be disappointed. I think the Alba victories, will come as a shock to many of the Alba detractors and joyous fir those of us who desire independence.
Oh I don’t think any of us should underestimate the impact Alba is going to have on the new parliament.
The logic of seats. independence seats, at no expense to the SNP is irresistible logic. With luck, the SNP can achieve a majority of one, none or a minority of a dew seats – with no, absolutely no list seats. But give that wasted vote to the Alba party and the landscape changes .
A parliament able and capable of talking to Boris Johnson and Westminster and winning. A parliament mandated and capable. And you know what, the electorate know that.
Spent Saturday out on the campaign trail with Alba in our local constituency. Tooled up with a mobile cavalcade of around twenty cars and dozens of activists stopping to meet, greet and leaflet we were met with huge public support.
Alba is taking root, of that there is no doubt, and I think in a few days we will all be very pleasantly surprised. and voice that our new parliament has.
The Polls are wrong! The MSM are out of touch! The ALBA result is about to shock the system
Alex 100% has my vote on Thursday. This talk about seeing the pandemic over before looking to independence is the worst nonsense, we can only make a good recovery if we control that recovery ourselves. The Tories will give us more austerity and the unionists will blame a poor recovery on our devolved parliament. It’s time.
I can’t wait for the vote to come in. Unfortunately I’m unable to vote as I no longer live in Scotland.
I’m feeling positive though that Alex “The Boss” will succeed in getting elected & so will some of the candidates. I have a number in mind, but don’t wish to jinx his success.
I E-Mailed Iain Lawson back end Feb, early March when I saw ALBA registered as a party. I told him I thought Alex may be coming back into politics. I knew he had to get through the HR committee meeting etc before he could show his hand. I e-mailed Iain to get off my chest what I was really feeling. “I asked him not to mention it”
I was just looking for affirmation that I was on the right track. Of-course Iain couldn’t say anything. I just had to bide my time & keep my mouth closed on sites like wings incase I was right. LOL 🙂
The last thing I wanted to do was bring attention to what I thought. Spoil the advantage of surprise.
I really struggled for a few weeks knowing how despondent people were. They weren’t going to vote at all. It was all pointless for them.
I apologise to you that suffered prior to Alex coming back on the scene. I couldn’t bring myself to out what I thought would/could happen & risk the positive affect it would have on you when Alex told you personally.
I may have felt bad back then, I’m now glad I held my wheeshed. I held it for INDY. 🙂

Like back in late Feb early march, I have a good feeling about the outcome of this election. You just need to get out there & vote. Good luck, I have everything crossed for you.
I will e-mail Iain personally with my own name not Kiwilassie to give him my number of seats prior to election. I will then see how close I am to the number of seats actually won by ALBA on Sunday, Monday.
I’m not psychic, I just go with my gut feeling. We’ll see if I’m right or wrong this time after the election. 🙂
