As Scotland continues to face rising energy bills, a crippling cost-of-living crisis, and repeated Westminster roadblocks, the Alliance to Liberate Scotland (ATLS) today renews its call for genuine national unity and the immediate exercise of Scotland’s sovereign right to self-determination.
From the beginning, ATLS has stood alone in demanding a broad, inclusive Constitutional Convention that brings together all pro-independence parties, civic organisations, and grassroots voices – not just those compliant with any single party. This is the only path that can deliver real independence and the practical powers Scotland needs to tackle the challenges facing families today.
In January 2020, Nicola Sturgeon promised the Scottish people a Constitutional Convention. In 2025, both John Swinney and Keith Brown repeated that commitment following the election. Yet delivery has stalled. With Westminster’s latest rejection of a Section 30 order, the need for bold, sovereign action has never been more urgent.
“We have waited long enough,” said an ATLS spokesperson. “While politicians talk, Scottish households are choosing between heating their homes and putting food on the table. Independence is not an abstract constitutional debate – it is the practical route to taking control of our energy resources, building an economy that works for our people, and ending the cycle of austerity dictated from afar.”
The Alliance to Liberate Scotland warmly invites every Scot – whether long-time independence supporter, undecided voter, or someone simply exhausted by the cost-of-living squeeze – to join us. This is not a movement of exclusion or narrow party loyalty. It is a liberating alliance for all who believe Scotland’s future should be decided by the Scottish people, in Scotland.
By exercising our sovereign right and convening a genuine Constitutional Convention that embraces the entire independence movement, we can unlock the powers needed to:
Secure affordable energy for Scottish homes and businesses
Design economic policies that prioritise living standards over remote Westminster priorities
Build a fairer, more prosperous nation that puts people first
There is a better way forward – and it is within our grasp.
ATLS calls on all pro-independence individuals, groups, and organisations to step forward and help shape Scotland’s future together. The door is open. The opportunity is real. The moment is now.
Join the Alliance to Liberate Scotland today. Together, we will deliver the independence Scotland needs and deserves.
