Soon, Scottish voters will have to make this choice. There is no better time to make that decision than May 7th, 2026. Independence is within our grasp. Now is the time for Scottish voters to put their X in the boxes that bring about the liberation of our nation.
This week, the Through A Scottish Prism panel of Phil Boswell, Allan Petrie, Eva Comrie, and Lloyd Quinan had lots of topics to dissect and discuss. We start the podcast with the news that the latest opinion poll by Norstat shows once again Independence with a substantial lead over the Unionist naysayers, 53% to 47%.
With almost every poll for the past three years showing similar or better numbers for liberation of our nation, our panel discuss the implications and the routes to achieve that self-determination. The absolute minimum required is unity in our independence movement.
The same poll conducted for the very unionist Times Newspaper Group threw in a curved-ball question. Would SNP and Labour voters be happy to see a coalition with each other rather than let Reform UK into power? A question that is easy to frame in any polling survey.
It is very much a British status quo narrative. Should such a scenario become reality, it would be the ultimate ‘Crossing the Rubicon’ moment for the SNP. A win-win outcome for the Union.
We have already heard Nicola Sturgeon saying she ‘identifies as British,’ an incredible statement by any leader of a National Liberation party. Can you imagine Mary Lou McDonald or Michelle O’Neil of Sinn Fein making such a statement? We have heard Humza Yousaf as leader of the SNP, saying he would work with British Labour.
We have seen how the incumbent SNP leader, John Swinney instigated a summit with the English-registered, Unionist Parties at Holyrood to find ways of working together to counter the Reform UK to the British status quo!
Again, I would ask you to imagine any scenario where Sinn Fein would party with the Brits to counter a problem for the Brits? Preposterous in the extreme, sadly, John Swinney did exactly that!
Instead, Swinney should have heeded the wonderful words of Daniel O’ Connell the Irish revolutionary: “England’s difficulty is Ireland’s opportunity.” That is as true a statement today as it was back in the 19th century. It is certainly the view of all those involved in Liberate Scotland.
This week, we also had another event to show just how colonised the Celtic nations are under Westminster rule. An Indian-owned car company, Jaguar Land-Rover based in the Midlands, received £1.5 billion of British state aid to keep them in business and protect English jobs. This kind of “corporate socialism” is only available in England. Just ask the workers of Grangemouth and Port Talbot.
When English politicians and media types mention the national interest or the nation, just understand that the nation and the national interest is England exclusively! Neither Scotland, Wales, or the 6 occupied counties of Ireland are included in Westminster’s nation!
We couldn’t let this podcast go without mentioning that it is now official: Scotland has the dearest electricity prices in the world. We generate so much electricity that we send the excess, free of charge, to our neighbour England. However, we Scots pay more for our energy than our English imperial masters.
Scotland needs, as a matter of urgency, Independence! Nothing less! Independence! Nothing else!
A last word for John Swinney and all independence supporters: the only Reform Scotland needs is independence!
All this and more in your favourite Scottish political podcast, Through A Scottish Prism.
Webcom Radio is Now Playing:
The complexion of Sturgeon, Yousaf and Swinney is now crystal clear forcall to see.
Trojan Horses dedicated and utterly focused on undermining independence. Administrators on behalf of their colonial masters.
And all the while the metrics of decline are all around whilst the country get plundered of its resources.
People know this. They know also that the political system is a rotten to the core sham. That is quite clear from the drop in votes for the SNP whilst concomitanly with no indy campaign the vote for independence rises.
The Westminster ploy of hollowing out the SNP, assisting it become what it has become, may have succeeded but it has not killed the desire for independence.
Reform appearing on the political scene is however a distraction for a political system that does not work. It’s a reflection of where some folks go when they have no where else to go. Quite why anyone would vote for a rightwing English Nationalist party is a food question but when you realise the utter useless pokitical party system with its unwanted non delivering poliitical you can maybe understand how some folks would give a vote just to spite the others.
Without doubt I’d wager that some who are considering voting Reform will actually be independence supporters disenchanted with the current party offerings.
And that is why with the rise in support for independence we need to make 2026 our independence election. The vote for independence is stronger than it was in 2014.
Folks know now how they were sold down the river. Better together, a golden era out of Europe. Yep sold short, sold short big time and folks know it.
Roddy I wonder if you could possibly clear something up , I posted a comment on Grousebeaters site https://grousebeater.wordpress.com/2025/10/01/the-view-from-kenny-macaskill-6/ , severely critical of Kenny MacAskills post as I felt it was just regurgitating the same bland non challenging mince

Why will Kenny and Alba not join the unity effort to regain our long-lost independence?

Where are you picking up this nonsense, Lorncal. I’ve seen only a handful post it, and then repeat it ad nauseam, followed by a few more echo it, yet unable to substantiate where the alleged problem has come about. The claim is spurious and egregious. Show evidence where MacAskill rejects solidarity.
Define what you mean by unity.
Show where ALBA is not exercising it.
MacAskill has instituted a policy of the membership making the decisions, without intervention from the leadership. As for my part, (which is not in question) I am not involved in the day-to-day administration. I publish statements as they arrive and after due analysis and some editing. When other Indy groups post material I employ the same editorial line. And that includes the SNP: if positive, something accomplished, it is only fair to publish it.
Until then, your question is similar to the famous implausible negative: “When will you stop beating your wife?”

Sorry, Grousebeater, but when did ALBA join the united effort under Liberate Scotland? I fully understand that they are part of the Yes Scotland movement, but they have not joined in the latest effort to place candidates in all Scottish seats. If they have done so only recently, I apologize.

@ Lorncal and ArtyHetty I asked a similar question the last time Gareth published a Kenny MacAskill statement ,Gareth responded quite aggressively that Liberate Scotland were attempting to FORCE ALBA to join them , I presume this is note 6 of Kenny’s contribution to independence but I have to be truthful if it is it is just a repeat of his previous posts and just as watery and bland , there is no passion or fight in those posts

Liberate Scotland is NOT a political party, therefore it cannot put up candidates. Hence, candidates are individuals, and we know what happens to them.
a. I learn LS asked MacAskill for a meeting.
b. MacAskill agreed and requested an agenda.
c. To my knowledge, he has not had a reply.
d. Craig Murray is an ALBA member.
e. Murray is on the LS committee.
f. This presupposes ALBA support.
g. I’m LS; not invited to the committee, but I support LS.
h. MacAskill and members wished Geneva team success.
i. I reported multi times on Geneva approach.
j. Only ALBA members can decide on a formal alliance.
k. SNP is the one party resisting solidarity.
l. ALBA policy is for 2026 to be a plebiscite vote.
m. SNP leaders say no, but there is rebellion in the ranks.

Thank you for your extremely rude response , it appears that you frown on anyone else having an opinion and ANY opinion other than yours is pious and embarrassing as you are also demonstrating in your response to Lorncal
Kenny MacAskill has been in independence politics for at least 26 years and still we are no closer to independence , Sarah Salyers and SALVO burst on to the scene in ALBA’s first conference and was roundly applauded and supported by the Alba membership because she brought a new perspective and a fresh approach , but this took away the focus on the political parties which loosened the control of politicians so she was sidelined and ignored
Sarah Salyers , SALVO , SSRG , & Liberation.Scot has done more in 5 years to bring the independence fight to the people than ANY politician has done in the previous decades, the independence movement has relied on politicians to educate the electorate on what the benefits of independence means for Scotland and formulate sensible and workable plans to get us there
EVERY one of them has failed miserably , they are MORE focused on retaining their exorbitant salaries , generous expenses and contributing to their unearned pensions
NOT one of them has chosen to educate the electorate on our history and the duplicitous and egregious acts of our oppressors, NOT one of them has chosen to EXPOSE the constant LIES and MISINFORMATION excreted on a daily basis by broadcasters and the MSM
Your remarks about pious and embarrassing comments should be directed at them because they repeat ad nauseam the same mince about what they are going to do to win independence , current post and comment an example
In reference to sacrifices it is apparent that Kenny and all the other politicians are admirably paid for their involvement in politics and governance , if not they have the option and choice to return to their profession , I am sorry that your friendship with Kenny doesn’t allow you to critically examine his repeated posts that lead nowhere and haven’t done for a long time
Can I ask did Liberate Scotland ask MacAskill for a meeting and also did he request an agenda for said meeting
Why would he need an agenda for a meeting of indy people
GB maintains that to his knowledge MacAskill has not had a response from Liberate Scotland
Is this true , the reason I ask is that on the Prism the group are constantly appealing for MacAskill to pick up the phone , and it appears that he is ignoring those appeals, yet since the launch of Prism you have ALL emphasised repeatedly the importance of UNITY
TBQH I am also concerned at GB’s point G
g. I’m LS; not invited to the committee, but I support LS.
He seems upset that he was not invited to the committee
Please believe I am not being divisive or trying to cause trouble I am just trying to get to the truth, I have also had arguments with Peter A Bell regarding his negative comments and insults about Liberate Scotland and the organisation
I believe that Liberate Scotland will play an extremely important part in winning our independence , if we leave it to politicians it will NEVER happen
I will tell you this, conversations took place with both Kenny and Neale Hanvey I participated in some of those conversations. They declined to be part of the Liberate coalition preferring instead to go for an SNP 1 Alba 2 as is their right.
Personally, I think that is a mistake.SNP will not reciprocate with Alba, too much bad blood for a start. However,I repeat they have every right to their policy though I find it hypocritical to hear them shout for unity in public and decline it when they are offered unity. Same applied to Scotland United first chance Alba had to prove their credentials they waited 5 weeks and stood Kenny against Eva in Grangemouth and lost to her so they talk u ity but just like SNP put party before nation,
Thanks for your response Roddy , I just wanted to know the truth of the matter , perhaps GB is unaware of the situation but his anger and aggression towards those who are just trying to get to the TRUTH of the matter is misplaced , TBQH his anger and aggression should be directed at Kenny MacAskill and Neil Hanvey for refusing to cooperate and unite with Liberate Scotland , If MacAskill is so unaware of the contempt and disgust that the snp hierarchy and a broad proportion of the membership feel about ALBA then he is deluded and stupid
TBQH I think a lot of ALBA members and supporters will not be aware of the approach by Liberate Scotland and the subsequent dismissal of their generous and intelligent invitation to unite under a FREE SCOTLAND coalition
If I were a member of ALBA I would be incandescent with anger that the LEADERSHIP decided to ignore the hand of friendship and coalition offered by REAL independence fighters in favour of BEGGING REPEATEDLY for a seat at the table of a FAKE independence party who are only focused on deviant and perverted policies whilst IGNORING and SABOTAGING the fight for independence
IMO MacAskill is mirroring the snp in only going for the list vote , it is not about independence it is about placing his arse on the gravy train , the snp will not unite with them because they NEED both votes snp in case the current BLOODSUCKERS in the constituency seats are SACKED then they MAY have a chance of staying on the GRAVY TRAIN through the list seat
WHY is Scotland so badly served by STUPID and SELF SERVING politicians who REFUSE to see the BENEFIT of coalition and unity with REAL independence supporting FIGHTERS
Count the number of groups and organisations founded for the purpose of creating ‘unity’. If it’s more than one, that should tell you something.
It tells me too many ‘know it all’ that think they are the only one with a plan and if it is not their way then it’s the highway, sound familiar?
Oh dear! I thought even you would be able to figure out the meaning of my comment. Seems I overestimated your intellect. You should have just taken the compliment and said nothing.
The proof of credentials for all and any advocates for Scottish Independence will be when folks coalesce around a credible plan, not a party or an individual.
Stating that Alba “stood Kenny against Eva in Grangemouth and lost to her” when the latter got 2.1% and the former 1.5% of the vote – 8th and 7th, respectively, out of 9 candidates – is hardly conducive to peace, harmony and understanding and rather misses the larger picture.
I have certainly made “negative comments” about Liberate Scotland. Whether these amount to “insults” is a subjective judgement and so in that sense your accusation may be justified. I certainly haven’t gone to any trouble to avoid giving offence. I find that if people want to be offended, they will find something offensive regardless. So, I just don’t bother.
I make negative comments about Liberate Scotland because there is nothing positive to be said. If the group wasn’t a sad joke before that unintentionally hilarious ‘Letter to Cabinet Secretary’ from Liberate Scotland press officer, Allan Petrie, it certainly has been since and will be forever.
Every circus needs a clown-car, I suppose.
Your pomposity is not founded upon anything other than your overinflated sense of self. What have you actually done to promote the cause? Answer not a lot! Whinging from the sidelines and telling everyone else they are wrong is your only contribution. As the woman in Brechin famously said,”you talk shite Peter!” Like so many it us all about you and that huge ego of yours, very Sturgeonite. That is why you do not like Liberate Scotland, unity and collective action doesn’t work for those like you afflicted with Dunning-Kruger syndrome.
That was your chance to say something positive about Liberate Scotland. You weren’t up to the task.
Peter your constant negativity of ANY attempt by anyone to unite the independence movement and move forward collectively is soul destroying , FFS it is almost as if you are working for the yoonionists in destroying and ridiculing any semblance of unity or collective action, I and many others signed the MFI BUT we are also invested in ANY ACTION that will free our country and nation , Scotland has learned that the electoral party system in Scotland is RIGGED to accomodate the yoonionist parties , the fact that 1 indy party was fighting a combination of yoonionist parties obviously gave them an advantage , we are now at the stage of IF we had 2 GENUINE indy parties who had credibility in management and were capable of FIGHTING for indy we would romp home, if 1 party concentrated on winning the constituency vote and the other concentrated on winning the list vote we could get our independence , Unfortunately for the past 11 years we have had a political party who have done everything in their power to ACTIVELY SABOTAGE any move towards independence , their membership is more interested in PARTY before COUNTRY , although they know it is counter productive their insistence that voters should vote snp 1 & 2 only creates positions in parliament for yoonionist politicians
I am glad many like you get it twathater. I am thoroughly sick of the negative naysayers. We get more negativity from so-called indy supporters than from yoons. A lot of that negativity is out of pure unadulterated jealousy.
“Scotland has learned that the electoral party system in Scotland is RIGGED to accomodate the yoonionist parties”
Well if that is so then it has backfired spectacularly.
First of all, had FPTP, rather than the AMS, been employed in the Holyrood elections of 1999 and 2003 the SNP would have won only 7 and 9 seats, respectively. In addition they would not have formed the Scottish Government in 2007 as they returned only 21 MSPs in the constituencies when British Labour (alone) managed 37 (despite the latter receiving fewer votes than the SNP on the constituency ballot).
Secondly, with the sole exception of the first HE (1999) the parties and candidates claiming to support the return of Scotland’s statehood together achieved a greater share of all the seats than their aggregated votes across both ballots:
2003: 30% votes, 32% MSPs
2007: 36% votes, 38% MSPs
2011: 48% votes, 56% MSPs
2016: 48% votes, 54% MSPs
2021: 49% votes, 56% MSPs
The recent More in Common survey suggests that this disproportionality in favour of parties/candidates claiming to be in favour of the return of Scotland’s full self-government will continue with these parties winning 51% of the seats from only 41% of the popular vote.
Taken together those parties/candidates standing on an Independence prospectus – SNP, Scottish Greens, SSP and independents like Margo MacDonald – have if anything, benefited from, rather than than losing out because of, the AMS.
Call me a cynic, but all I can see is the SNP’s plan to torpedo May 2026 as a plebicite Election, and / or even contemplate a Supermajority strategy with a List Party, is already in the water and underway. Convince me it isn’t.
They’ve stitched us up before, and I seen every indication that’s exactly what they plan to do it again. Boil us like frogs until it’s too late…. again.
Perhaps I missed it, but Salvo and Liberation at the UN were on tremendous form, truly inspiring, but I have yet to see the SNP raise as much as an eyebrow. Our betrayers are right there in front of us, but we all pretend we can’t see what they’re planning. I’m sorry, but not reacting, hoping for the best, increasingly feels like an appeasement which will delay a war that is inevitable, until it is centre stage and critical for Independence.
This unmentionable SNP boil MUST be lanced long before May next year, or all I can predict is we are sailing into another sideways defeat which we inflict upon ourselves.
There is NO REASON WHATSOEVER for the SNP to shun Liberation, nor reconcile its differences with ALBA. Have a wee chat at Conference eh? A fkg Revolution needs to kick off.
Take the hard steps now, and devote the next 6-7 months to building trust and reconciliation amongst good people we KNOW we can trust. The alternative is more of this insufferable Independence poker, waiting for somebody to fold, and frankly I’m heart sick of it. Fkg charlatans. There isn’t a patriot amongst them. Call the hand now, and see what their cards say, and I bet it’s not Independence.
I’m sorry, truly I am, but I cannot find it in me to be more positive. The Scorpion will sting us mid channel because it’s a Scorpion, and that’s its nature.
What you refer to as the “Supermajority strategy” is nonsense concocted for electioneering purposes and nothing whatever to do with restoring Scotland’s independence. There is nothing that can be done by 76 MSPs that can’t be done by 67. A “Supermajority” is 86 MSP’s. There is no realistic possibility of this being achieved, and it would serve no purpose even if it was.
Achieving a “Supermajority” for independence would first require that there be at least one party genuinely committed to a credible strategy for restoring independence. No such party exists at this time. It would also involve ‘breaking’ the proportionality of the system. Which would all but certainly lead to the election being declared void and to the British state ‘reviewing’ the voting system. Even people too intennectually indolent to think through thelikes of the “Supermajority” pish should be able to figure out what that ‘review’ would entail.
Can I agree with you, without actually agreeing with you?
I have no more faith in a Holyrood Supermajority than you do. Holyrood is designed to entrench Westminsters colonial beachhead in Edinburgh, and if we Scots identify constitutional loopholes we can exploit, the rules will just be re-written to move the goal posts, and Scotland crop of subservient lackeys will go along with it, and help the change get bedded in… again. Our Lawyers are as bad as our politicians by the way. Notable (and rare) exeptions respected of course.
But, within that, a two thirds Supermajority is one such loophole, and is a recognised two-thirds majority threshold whereby Holyrood could exercise authority to hold and election or referendum without authority from Westminster. It’s designed to be an unachievable threshold, but the Independence movement revels in doing things the hard way. Achieving it would be a token event, but not for what it delivers, but for the inevitable subjugation of the constitutionally sovereign electorate’s choice of government.
My faith in SALVO and Liberation almost entirely stems from my own long held belief in Scotland’s Constitutional Sovereignty, and what that properly means. It fills my heart with joy that SALVO and Liberation are committed to acting independently from the levers of government which Westminster allows us to play with. Scotland’s heraldic Unicorn when depicted correctly features a broken chain, because it cannot be restrained.
But, while I am a Constitutional “SALVOist” in my heart, I also know that Constitutional benchmarks we can and will achieve, will sooner or later require the democratic ratification of the Scottish people. Democracy aye, but what democracy?
That informs my perspective. I want SALVO to sculpt the Constitutional landscape of modern Scotland from first priciples, where Scotland’s sovereignty was usurped but never lawfully subjugated. Establish these legal credentials first, awaken our people to the truth, and let Scotland’s democracy serve the purpose of ratification; a ratification once our democratic process has enough integrity to recognise the Scottish people are sovereign, not the Westminster lie factory.
I care not what Holyrood says or does. As I have written before right here on Roddy’d blog, Holyrood could and should have tied it’s colours to the red sovereignty of the Scottish electorate, not the invasive white sovereignty of Westminster. Time after time, Holyrood chooses white over red, and until that changes, Holyrood must be recognised as hostile and seen as expendible. So be it.
A “true” Scottish Parliament will recognise the people as sovereign, forsaking all others. If Holyrood doesn’t want the job, then Scotland yet, has no parliament, and SALVO must guide us on how to create one from scratch, using the tools and authority given us from the root principles of Scotland’s traditional Constitution, forged in antiquity, when we were last a free and Independent sovereign Nation.
Westminster is a hostile, colonial imposter, and Holyrood is con built upon the lies of a foreign constitution which doesn’t even properly exist, and the political peons with their snouts in the trough at Holyrood are simply window dressing lending credibility to the illusion.
Holyrood had the chance to set the sovereignty of the people higher than the rules imposed upon Scotland by London. It could have done so, and under Salmond, I firmly believe it would have ultimately done so. But every First Minister before Salmond, and most contemptibly, every First Minister after Salmond, has been an unconstitutional disgrace and embarrassment upon Scotland.
To come full circle, you detest a Supermajorty Peter? So do I, BUT! It’s a last remaining opportunity for Holyrood to assert the Red Sovereignty of sovereign people over the white Sovereignty of the colonial usurper. It isn’t about the numbers, its about whether Holyrood is ours or theirs. Is Holyrood dead to us, or can it be redeemed? Can Holyrood be shamed into doing the right thing for Scotland? Or should it be denounced as an instrument of Scotland’s subjugation, and a new Scottish Parliament created from first principles?
Holyrood needs to pick its side, and stand or fall according to that decision. Like Sara Salyers says, the Crown is not the golden trinket sitting upon the monarch’s head. The Crown is the constitutional sovereignty of the people. Holyrood has no authority to overrule the people of Scotland; that misguided belief is a foreign and invasive doctrine if it tries to assert otherwise.
I completely agree, Breeks.
I am convinced that, since 14 November 2014, the SNP has focused all its efforts on the ultimate goal of sabotaging any progress to independence. Refusing to unite under the Liberation umbrella is another form of sabotage: it is deliberately perpetuating the division of the independence movement and, by doing so, destroying any prospect of making that election a plebiscite election. They have shown their true colours.
From 2021 we have had in theory a majority of pro-independence seats in Holyrood. But, in practical reality, what we have had is a supermajority of pro-union seats disguised as pro-independence.
After colluding to pull the breaks of Scotland’s independence, handing over Scotlands resources, destroying the fabric of society and erasing the barriers between the three powers which are needed in any democracy, now they are engaged in destroying the remnants of Scots law that are still different to English law. So much for “pro-independence”, huh?
Those “pro-independence” seats have been doing the dirty work for the British establishment since the two faced Sturgeon took control of the party.
The SNP has become such an integral part of that pro-union status quo that it can no longer be distinguished from labour. And it has no intentions of ending that status quo now. That much is crystal clear.
The sooner we bypass them completely and chuck then in the dustbin of political history, the better.
The claim that “almost every poll for the past three years” has shown numbers similar to the Norstat one referenced does not stand up to scrutiny. Just taking 2025, 7 of the 12 polls so far have shown Yes in the lead, but 5 of them put No ahead.
As for the last three years (October 2022 to September 2025), the total number of polls is 84. Of these, 3 (3.6%) were tied; 29 (34.5%) had Yes in the lead; 52 (61.9%) put No ahead.
Does a little over a third qualify as “almost every poll”? Or is BarrheadBoy just making this up as he goes along?

Is ‘Liberate Scotland’ a Facebook group?
No it is your first nightmare
Using the list system strategically with unity candidates could deliver real results.
In 2021 some 1,093,000 people voted SNP on the list vote. And that delived the rip roaring success of 2 SNP MSPs. and dozens of Labour and Tory MSPs. Had however these voters voted Alba in a SNP 1 and Alba 2 strategy then Alba would have secured something around 25 seats, deposits hordes of labour and tory unionist seats.
Had those 1,093,000 votes gone that way then the complexion and dynamics of the Scottish of the parliament would be quite different. Not that Peter thinks so when he says a majority of 67 ( out of 129 ) as opposed to a majority of 86 ( out of 129 ) . Oh really Peter, do you really think that.
Not wishing to be pejorative but that’s the biggest load of tosh I’ve heard. For what cricket team do you play. Or have you been on the whiskies of an evening.
C’mon man, whose side are you on. We should all be on the same side working together
Peter doesn’t do joined up thinking or unity. That’s the price of genius.
Roddy – I’ve just read that Liberate Scotland intends to register as a Political Party: which I find both surprising and ( a bit ) troubling.
I understood L.S to be * simply * an organisational concept, coordinating & promoting those under it’s ‘ umbrella ‘ to, eg avoid 2 or more ( genuine ) Pro-Independence candidates contesting the same seat and, in the process, potentially allowing a Unionist candidate- or, for that matter, an snP candidate, which is tantamount to the same thing – to win the seat.
If LS is now going to be fighting the next S.E as a Political Party in it’s own right, does it not risk the same fate as ISP & ALBA have electorally, ie being trampled underfoot by the MSM’s exclusive focus on the * main * Parties and having to compete for what little attention is left over with the myriad other overlooked contenders?
As an aside and not wanting to get involved in the detail of the argument, above……I honestly believe it would help the L.S case/cause if there was a little more meat on the ” HOW we intend to achieve Independence ” bone. I may have missed it, but I have to confess, the absence of such a clearly delineated plan is something of own goal
Under UK Electoral Commission rules Liberate Scotland needs to be a party and to be the umbrella for indy parties. Our ability to participate in the elections means we have to abide by the EC conditions. As to how we achieve independence.Standing on a single line manifesto of Independence nothing less. Achieving 50%+1 of seats and votes and declaring UDI.
Thanks for that, Roddy. I will be voting for the L.S candidate in May, as will my partner, most of our siblings and quite a few of our friends. We’ve also been recommending doing the same to our wider circle of friend n family
Thank you it is appreciated and what we need buy in by the Scottish people
It’s been abundantly clear for a long time that Swinney, Sturgeon and their cohorts are British state infiltrators and collaborators. At every step of the way they’ve acted against the cause of independence and impeded our progress towards that vital goal. The hounding, discrediting and vilification of leading pro-independence figures and collaboration with the British state have been remarkably blatant and overt in the case of Sturgeon, yet there are still those who believe the sun shines out of her backside and that she can do no wrong. What planet are they on? I can only suppose the continuing high level of support for the SNP reflects the abject contempt in which the pro-UK parties are held in Scotland, rather than the belief that the SNP will actually take meaningful action to secure our independence.
I will be delighted to vote for a Liberation candidate and preferably two at the next Holyrood election.
If there is a candidate in the constituency and another in the list, then I will vote for both. That is my preference.
The liberation candidate will always get my vote no matter who else is standing. If there is only one and it is standing in the constituency, then I will consider casting my list vote for Alba if they have a candidate in the list.
If the liberation candidate only stands in the list and an Alba candidate also stands in the list, then my vote will go to the Liberation candidate. If Alba stands in the constituency, and there is no liberation candidate in the constituency, then my constituency vote goes to Alba.
If no Liberation candidate or Alba candidates are standing in the constituency, I will spoil my constituency ballot. If no Liberation candidate or Alba candidate stands in the list, I will also spoil my list ballot.
Casting a vote or the SNP betrayers and grifters is not a consideration I will ever waste my precious time making again. They are dead as a political party for me. The betrayal over the last 10 years plus is, in my view, absolutely unforgivable.
As far as I am concerned, the incompetence or lack of interest from those who have purposely failed in delivering when granted every majority they could have ever needed to end this union, should not be rewarded with a vote but rather with the p45 and cancellation.
There is obviously no way on earth I will ever consider, never mind cast a vote for a colonial party. Before that I would spoil my ballot and scribble all over it.
I would have preferred to see Alba joining the liberation umbrella, but if I have to be honest, as long as they field their candidates in the opposite list than liberation, they will get my vote unless they do a Sturgeon claiming that a vote for Alba is not a vote for independence.
But if they choose to enter a dick competition against Liberation standing candidates in the same list as LIberation to see who is more popular and to attempt to encroach in liberation’s target audience, then they can go and do one. I will not vote for them. I have a lot of time for Mr Macaskill and Mr Hanvey, but the truth is that Alba is not going anywhere fast.
The SnP1/Alba 2 was a strategy that should have worked 5 years ago if the SNP was not in the hands of betrayers working for the British State and their own pockets rather than for Scotland.
But times have moved on. That is no longer a viable strategy. Firstly, because there is quite a few people (me included) who will never, ever again even entertain casting a vote for the ridiculous, time/majority/energy wasting SNP. Secondly, because there is a new kid in the block and that is liberation. They have a fresh face, a fresh approach, a simple strategy and more important than anything else, they have the courage of putting independence before anything else. That is what I want. Not more faffing about. No more battle of egos.
I am not knowledgeable in the matter I must admit, but I seem to remember certain irregularities during the brexit ref with those to “parties” from the pro-brexit side. On the surface, they were portrayed as fully “independent” from each other. But then it was discovered that one was funding the other. As the British establishment wanted brexit, although If I remember correctly it was considered unlawful, they establishment brushed it all under the carpet and voila! if its is not in view is like it does not exist. But they can pull something similar with the independence parties under the umbrella. That is a risk that is best to not take.
I do think it is much safer that Liberation is registered as a political party. We do not want to get to the point of having a decent prospect of good performance of the parties of the umbrella in the election only to find out that the sly foxes of the British establishment will resource to (or make up) some loophole to disqualify them or remove them from the ballot because they are not truly independent. It is not a matter of playing by the British state rules, but rather shutting down the door to their unsavoury loopholes in the making.
Great to hear Mia, a couple of things and not wanting to sound pedantic, Liberate Scotland not Liberation though we do support their brilliant efforts 100%.
If you can tell me which constituency you reside in I can tell you if there is already a candidate in place. Liberate Scotland will also have candidates on every regional list.
Alba are only standing on the list not in any constituencies.
As to the Brits pulling any tricks that would be very difficult for them we already have two precedents. The Labour & Cooperative Party that appear on ballots as Scottish Labour. Then there is the Conservative & Unionist Party that appears as Scottish Tories on the ballot paper.
My apologies, Roddy. I keep mixing both words, Liberate and Liberation.
Our constituency is Dundee West.
Thank you.
Great to hear from you, Mia 🙂
I am NOT being divisive but IMO Kenny MacAskill and Neil Hanvey REFUSING the outstretched hand of friendship and UNITY from Liberate Scotland , instead preferring to BEG the traitorous Scum Nonce Party for an alliance has soured me to vote for them , how could anyone believe that the actions of these snp betrayers of Scotland and Scots over the last 11 years would lead anywhere NEAR independence , they have shown repeatedly that they are more interested in sabotaging any effort by the independence movement to UNITE under the common cause of INDEPENDENCE NOTHING LESS
Sturgeon DELIBERATELY and WILFULLY approached the engerlish supreme court via an incompetent and useless advocate knowing that SOVEREIGN Scots were the only ones who were qualified to decide Scotland’s future , she gave them credibility where they had NONE
WHY would MacAskill and Hanvey want to be aligned with a party who have DELIBERATELY AVOIDED fighting for independence rather than UNITING with FIGHTERS whose reason d’etre IS independence NOTHING LESS
