Is Scotland a nation? It is a very innocuous question, however it does cause Unionists a great deal of difficulty. To those of us that are believers in self-determination the answer is quite straightforward. Yes, Scotland is a nation! We are unequivocal in our reply. It is what is known as a closed question it only requires a YES or No answer. When I have asked this same question of Britnats the responses have been truly entertaining and enlightening. These are just some of the banal replies I have received.

‘It depends on what you mean by a nation.’

‘It is part of the United Kingdom/Britain.’

Why are you asking me this?

That is a stupid question!’

The problem for Britnats is if they answered correctly with YES it leads to a question they dread even more.

Isn’t it normal for nations to govern themselves and not be governed by another country?

We have also seen the mental gymnastics deployed by Unionists when asked the famous, Name 3 things that can only be achieved by the British Union that cannot be achieved by an independent Scotland. Despite asking many hundreds, if not thousands of Unionists this question we still await a credible answer. Let me help them out, here is the answer, it is simple and it is one word, NOTHING!

I have often said it, British Nationalists hate being questioned on anything. I don’t just mean their followers on social media. Those two simple questions I have asked of Party leaders as well as seat warming House-Jock MSPs. Try it yourself and watch them avoid answering you. They go to extremes to avoid responding to anything they are ever asked. Unionists operate in a mode of they should just speak, we listen, believe, vote for them and obey. Daring to question their policies, their statements, their smears, their motivations, they take as a personal insult.

I spent the last week asking Willie Rennie how he can justify remaining in position now that his shameful behaviour has been exposed by the IICSA Enquiry. I have asked him how it was possible that the Liberal Party’s own enquiry arrived at such a different position to the IICSA. Needless to say as a British Nationalist Rennie doesn’t think he has to answer to anyone and certainly not to a member of the public that questions the status quo. A day after his exposure as a pedo enabler he was back to demanding the Scottish Government set up an enquiry and answer his questions on the collapse of the Our Power private company. Rennie hopes if he just pretends that he has done nothing wrong we will all forget his complicity in protecting a serial child abuser. The entitlement in British Unionists is really quite nauseating. They have double standards in most matters one set of rules for them and one for anyone else that dares to disagree with them.

The Tories have also been busy asking questions. Their new branch manager the failed car dealer and art expert Jackass ‘Lovejoy’ Carlaw thinks he has the magic bullet to finally kill off the dastardly etthhhnnnpeee. The arrogance of this man is quite breathtaking. Not since 1955 have the right wing won an election in Scotland. What is not so well known is that the Scottish Conservative Party as we know it has never won an election in Scotland. It did not exist in 1955. The right-wing party was actually a mish mash of Liberals and Conservatives. The Liberal Unionists and Conservatives became the Conservative and Unionist Party in England and Wales. The Scottish Unionist Party emerged effectively as the Conservative Party in Scotland, although some candidates still stood on a Liberal Unionist ticket because of the latent appeal of the word “Liberal” in Scotland. In local elections the right wingers stood as The Progressive Party. The British Nationalists have always had to hide behind false Party labels to help them dupe the Scottish Voters, plus ça change! This latest name they go by was not introduced till 1965.

Carlaw has such arrogance and pomposity he thinks he can achieve what no other Scottish Conservative has achieved, a Scottish electoral victory. I would politely suggest to Carlaw, if a Tory Party under Churchill or Thatcher couldn’t win an election in Scotland a Tory Party with Johnson and Jackson has no chance. Reality though is something British Nationalists in Scotland avoid like the plague. In their world the SNP has not won every single election in the past 13 years. They believe that even although all the numbers available say different they are the voice of Scotland. They believe because they and their tiny clique all hate the SNP and think Scotland is nothing without Mother England that everyone else agrees with them. Rather than acknowledge the voice of the Scottish people at the ballot box they choose to just ignore the results. Since 2007 the Unionist cabal has adopted two policies only SNP Bad and No to Independence! At each and every election since then they have lost. Sensible people in any other walk of life would take cognisance of the outcome and change their strategy accordingly. Not our House-Jocks, they think if they just shout louder and oftener suddenly this failed strategy will succeed. It is not rational nor is it a winning formula. This is exactly why they hate being asked questions. Every time we ask them, simple questions their position and the union are exposed as not fit for purpose. The Tories latest rinse and repeat is to try and demonise the First Minister as the only person in Scotland that wants independence. They are trying to say everything the SNP control and manage is bad. The problem though is this. Every single thing that is devolved to Scotland has better outcomes than those controlled by Tories in England. NHS, Transport, Justice, Education, every single one have better outcomes than the equivalents elsewhere in the Union. Unionists though just as with election results do not let reality or truth get in the way of their delusion. Yesterday the point of attack was education. A quick Google on any topic seeking equivalent outcomes in England will give ammunition to fire back at these naysayers. Yesterday I got a series of articles on English education from exam failures and outcomes to the fact that the present rate of renewal it will take English Tory Party 360 years to renew the existing school estate! I used this easily obtained information in reply to the Tory attacks on Scottish education. I asked for comment. None was forthcoming.

I have asked Unionists which SNP policies they would repeal and what would they replace them with – silence! When I have asked them if not independence what is your alternative to make Scotland better in this union – silence. What specific benefits will accrue to Scotland post-Brexit, – silence! Can you tell me what policies you would implement to cover the labour shortage in areas like NHS, Tourism, Farming and Fishing now that FOM has ended – silence! What is clear is all that the Britnat House-Jocks have is smears, sneers and lies. They have no solutions, no vision, no clue.

We need to expose this at every turn. Every time you encounter a Unionist naysayer, ask questions, they have no credible answers. Expose the paucity of the Union and unionism at every opportunity. Believe me if there was any kind of positive case for the union we would have heard it long ago. It does not exist. We need to control the narrative, to do that we need to question unionists on everything. Never forget the greatest fear of Unionism is truth. Asking questions exposes that fear and forces them to question their own beliefs. Nobody can be convinced by another, we all make up our own minds. By asking just simple questions you will change more minds than by any other method.
