Dissociative amnesia is a condition that happens when your mind blocks out important memories you have encountered at specific times in your life. These memories are often of traumatic or of a distressing nature. The brain it seems protects you from the trauma you experienced, but that’s often just a temporary fix. Unless you get to the root of the problem, you will keep having trauma and in lots of cases keep repeating the same actions that traumatised you in the first place.

The reason I mention all of this is that in recent times this seems to have reached epidemic proportions not just in Scotland but throughout the UK and globally.
Concentrating on Scotland, throughout the latter decades of the 20th century and into the first years of the 21st, Labour dominated politics in Scotland, winning the largest share of the vote in Scotland at every UK general election from 1964 to 2010, every European Parliament election from 1984 to 2004 and in the first two elections to the Scottish Parliament in 1999 and 2003.
They controlled most of the local authorities throughout Scotland for just as long. In some countries if you wanted to get yourself out of poverty boxing or football was one of the few routes open to the poor. In Scotland membership of the British Labour Party was a route that those trapped in British inflicted poverty took to get a better life for themselves but not for their neighbours or voters!
Like the boxer that won the titles or the footballer that scored the goals the Labour elected officials took all the glory and of course, kept all the money and perks for themselves. Those sitting ringside or on the terraces are meant to just enjoy the spectacle and only ever to take reflected glory, they should not want anything better for themselves or their families.You are just to look up to these creeps and never get ideas above your station.
The best that any Labour voter got out of having BLIS representation was the pleasure of calling themselves ‘A Labour Man.‘ You were not, of course permitted to ask any awkward questions, and you were expected to give your vote without hesitation! Self-entitlement is in the BLIS DNA to this day, losing elections is not meant to happen! Their position in life is an entitlement not something to be earned.
These people even lie about their party name!There is no Scottish Labour Party. It like everything else about them is a falsehood.

Throughout their time in control of our nation at every level things only ever got better for those in the BLIS party. Nepotism and downright corruption was everywhere, providing you were a card carrying Labour man or woman life wassweet.for you and your family. The poor stayed in penury and squalor while they scrambled up the greasy London pole.The big prize remains, if you sell out your fellow Scots and voters, the Ermine can be yours!

The foreign owned media and broadcasters in Scotland could and did make the most imbecilic and corrupt Labour acolytes sound like Nelson Mandela and Mother Theresa all rolled into one. They still attempt it today promoting liars and deniers like Ian Murray, London’s man in Scotland and Anas Sarwar as Scotland’s great hope( for England!)in 2026.
To this day BLIS has never been able to be honest even with itself. When in 2007 the SNP ousted them from their dominant role in the Scottish Parliament BLIS lied to itself about the reasons for their defeat.
They blamed the voters first and foremost for their failure. “The voters didn’t understand our messaging.. don’t know how bad the SNP are… our opponents lied and so forth.
They just could not bring themselves to admit they had failed the people of Scotland for over half a century. Scotland, that had created the modern worldm was the only nation (apart from the other celtic nations in the Anglosphere)in the developed world whose population never grew. Our industries were destroyed, our communities abandoned, and all under BLIS governance. Labour failed Scotland in every aspect they controlled on behalf of England. The unwritten law between all the Unionist politicians media and commentariat is this. NOTHING in Scotland can be allowed to be better than its equivalent in England. That is the remit for BLIS, never forget that! Every aspect of life, news, sport, drama, work, health, industries, politicians, media must paint out the English version as omnipotent!
For its area to this day, Scotland has a very short Motorway network (6.1 km of Motorway per thousand square kilometres), well below the overall EU figure (EU-14: 15.3; EU-27: 24.3) Scots just had to cross the border from the A1 or M74 to see the investment in England’s roads.
The A1 the supposed main road from the capital of Scotland to England’s capital follows, for much of the way to the border, the course of a Roman road, Ermine Street, and the old coach route to Edinburgh. It is not a motorway. However, the M1 out of London was the first motorway built by Westminster.
Housing under Labour was similarly a failure.In their tenure of office at Holyrood alongside the British Liberals between 1999-2007, they managed to build six council houses.
Our industries decimated under successive Labour and Tory governments and BLIS always fell into line never criticised London or the Union. Indeed with all the poverty and under investment in Scotland on roads, housing, education, NHS, Labour’s then Scottish Branch Manager, Jack McConnell returned £1.5 billion of the Scottish grant money to Westminster because he couldn’t think of anything worthwhile to spend the money on!
Further to this the BLIS bosses in England decided that PFI (Private Finance Initiative) a licence for private corporations, hedge funds and London spivs to be given ownership of our public services and utilities for knockdown prices.Lots of BLIS members benefited from that particular scam.
BLIS was seen to always put the needs of the English voters before the voters in Scotland that elected them in the first place. Every election they have promised ‘Change‘ a ‘Different Direction‘ just as they are doing now!
Vote for us and “we will save the Grangemouth Refinery,” they said, we will pay the WASPI women their full entitlement…we will protect the WFA all lies of course, as soon as they got in they did the exact opposite.
For Holyrood 2026 they are making up new lies “we will fix the NHS, we will build new roads, schools there will be a land of milk and honey if you give us just one more chance!”
The surprising thing in all this is that the Scottish voters gave them ANY votes at all in July last year and in any By-election since! Have so many brains in Scotland suffered from dissociative amnesia that they allowed themselves to forget why we got rid of these shysters in the first place? There is an excuse for the Generation Z they weren’t around when Labour was the enabler for England to rob and pillage Scotland.
They weren’t around when Donald Dewar a Scots born English nationalist and BLIS Scottish Branch manager colluded with Tony Blair and Gordon Toom Tabbard Brown on the eve of the opening of the new Scottish Parliament at Holyrood, Whitehall officials at their behest used a little known procedure in order to annex a huge chunk of the Scottish North Sea.
The redrawing of the maritime border meant several Scottish oil fields, including the Argyll field and six others, were officially designated English. The move meant that oil and gas revenue, which would have previously been considered Scottish is deemed to have been generated south of the border.
For anyone that is not Generation Z and has lived in Scotland prior to 1999 there is no excuse, unless of course, you are suffering from Dissociative Amnesia. Well said Roddy, you hit it on the head and the Scots electorate need to listen to the Lies of Labour and realise the Scottish people will never be better off under B.L.I.S. and ask ourselves is socialism dead – it certainly seems so within the UK Labour Party.;
Since elections to the Scottish Parliament is a devolved area would a fruitful strategy not be a pro-Independence Scottish government enacting legislation to require that any party contesting Holyrood elections be registered (and wholly funded) within Scotland?

We cannot outvote the English MPs – ever. We cannot outvote them if all three satellite parts of the UK banded together. It is an asymmetrical power structure that cannot ever allow any part other than England anything like control of anything. In fact, even, in England, control lies in one small area of the country where the greatest population is, and all infrastructural projects must happen there first and radiate outwards to the other parts (if they’re lucky).
We should never have agreed to devolution on an asymmetrical basis, but insisted that, if England was not going to devolve (as a country, not as cities and regions – that would come after national devolution) then neither would we. It was absolutely essential for England to devolve if the Union was going to survive (this one for the Unionists) and each part of the UK was going to have an equal say in all UK-wide legislation. England, like Scotland, Wales and NI, would have been one quarter of the whole instead of England-as-the-UK, as it is now. As things stand, we are satellites of England-as-the-UK and will stay that way. Satellite status does not allow for independent enterprise.
Neither should we be surprised at Labour because this is how Labour works. Everyone lauds Jeremy Corbyn, but he would not have allowed Scotland to go either because this is exactly how Labour works. Everyone must conform. Socialism, I’m afraid to say, is also the same, because it negates the individual, and, while humans are both mono units and multi units, there is no party that reflects that because every party leans one way or the other, with a wee bit of overlap – thus, we have the ToryLabLibs who all lay aside individual party differences to stand together against any threat to the overall consensus, and that consensus is that England-as-the-UK must take pole position, avoiding anything that might upset the status quo. In those circumstances, there can be no negotiated leave-taking unless we establish that we have constitutional and legal grounds to leave (which we have) and back that up at the polls.
Immediately post WW II, we came the closest, in the UK, that we had ever come to a real social consensus which was a kind of ‘liberal conservatism’ (middle of the road but with an eye on avoiding revolution among the returning soldiers who expected a better Britain and the women left behind who had coped rather too well was the thought in some areas of political life). The Conservatives accepted, reluctantly, that Labour had to change things or the country could easily collapse under the weight of expectations, and Labour did change things. However, the Tories always were waiting for the chance to change things back, even if only gradually, and they got their chance with Thatcher. We have never again returned to any kind of consensual politics.
Thatcherism was brutal and cut-throat and no one was safe, and, in order to change the UK into a service economy, industry was attacked with a blunt axe, and Scotland suffered hugely even as the oil and gas were being extracted. Arise the SNP. Conflicts created refugee problems and, almost overnight, gang culture and drug culture became international in nature, with a price on everything and everything with a price attached, even human beings. Under Labour, as well as Tory, money laundering became the UK’s biggest asset. The government bailed out the banks but refused to bail out industry or people even though it can, literally, print money. We are heading for a massive implosion, followed rapidly by a massive explosion and, in those conditions, independence will come, but at a huge price and there is no guarantee that Scotland will not have been infected, too, making it harder than necessary to rebuild and redeploy. We should have refused devolution and gone for independence. We could not possibly have been any worse off, and, indeed, I think we would have been much better off by now, stimulating population growth and heading off emigration from our country.
Here’s an utterly concerning report of an address that Sir Keir Starmer has just made.
” Prime minister Keir Starmer has doubled down on his government’s controversial plans to introduce farm inheritance tax, set to take effect in April 2026.
In an interview with ITV News West Country, Sir Keir addressed growing concerns from farmers and rural communities, defending the move as necessary for the long-term sustainability of public services, including the NHS and schools ”
Seems that inheritance tax on not just farms, but on people’s houses, together with hugely increased taxation of everything from pensions to wages, to the cutting of benefits like heating for the elderly is now a prerequisite for the continuance of not just the NHS but even the delivery of schooling.
Now, when you look around and see what you see, and read of pronouncements like this, you do wonder where the money is going in this country and what state we are actually in.
Not much of it is going anywhere in the UK, or Scotland. Most of it is going back out again via off-shore accounts and either hoarded or re invested abroad. With the Russian oligarchs and others, money laundering during has overtaken even the City in dodging domestic taxes, the bulk of which has to be raised from fewer and fewer people and they are at the lower end of the earning scale. Yes, farmers have money invested in plant, machinery and buildings, but they have far less money in liquid assets. There is a definite drive to close down farms and sell them to huge enterprises or turn the land over to development. We are a third world economy in all but name because the powers-that-be shuffle the pack around daily to confuse, and corruption is fast becoming endemic.

The systematic policy of pillage and plunder is now becoming plain for all too see. It has been neo liberal policy after neo liberal policy since Thatcher first sold off the state owned assets. Aided and abetted by an often belligerent workforce by an often y a belligerent and incompetent management the public bought the need for the sell off of state assets. Well in England they did and Sid got his few peppercorn shares whilst the big money boys got the big bonanza of share.
And now water, gas, electricity, some of the most essential industries for life are in the hand of who exactly as they rip every bit of profit out of these most basic of needs whilst transferring pricing profits to God only know where.
But it’s not just the water, gas and electricity but just about everything else of worth. And then there’s the hidden privatisation pillage – better maybe known as the Private Finance Initiative. We don’t actually talk about that because its too complicated, too hidden for ordinary joe and his donkey to understand. But what is provided under PFI is utterly astounding, schools, hospitals, motorways, road and bridges, and all of the other similar type assets once owned by the people. And what do you think all of this privatisation brings. Reduced cost infrastructure, better built assets, cheap finance – ah I’m having a laugh. The cheapest build quality the developer special purpose company can self certify and build, the finance that would make store cards look cheap, it’s another wizard wheeze. Think of falling down schools, dodgy build hospitals, and a maybe the odd bit of inflammable wall cladding, and tomorrows slums today at big money becomes a very valid tagline. But does anyone have any idea what PFI costs, or do the donkeys care.
And the wealth of the oil, gas, hydro and now wind where has all that gone. Aberdeen the city of oil only recently built a by pass round the city – thirty of forty years late, how many people actually know the Aberdeen Western Peripheral By Pass is a private road, a PFI, bought on the drip.
And now Starmer comes for the inheritance of not just farmers but ordinary citizens who save a lifetime to buy a house. Its need to sustain schools and the NHS he says – and the donkeys say yes.
Frankly Lorna the system is utterly out of control for the ordinary man in the street. From the lowly Michelle Mone’s of the world who got bad press for picking up a few miserly 100 million or so to the big boys who are plundering on an industrial scale, I truly fear for where we go.
But hey, Starmer want’s war, or at least wants to put boots on the ground, so at least folks have maybe got something else to give – their sons and daughters.
But hey, do the vast majority care, or more accurately, what will it take to make them care.
