Commenting on the latest polls which have been published on voting intentions for the Scottish Parliament Elections on Thursday 6 May an ALBA Spokesperson said:
“There have now been five polls since ALBA’s launch less than two weeks ago. Each of them is registering support for ALBA, a totally new party. More importantly, we now have 32 first class candidates in the field the length and breadth of the country, more MPs than the Labour Party and more members than the Liberal Democrats.
“As ALBA’s name recognition gets across we will gain ground. Far from damaging the SNP’s prospects ALBA’s injection of a positive case for independence into the campaign is boosting the reach of the SNP.
“All polls show the SNP winning overwhelmingly in the constituencies but gaining next to nothing at all on the list votes. SNP votes on the list will be wasted just as they were in 2016. That provides the opportunity to build the #Supermajority for independence at Holyrood. ALBA aim to be part of that process”
