The week after the Holyrood elections the parties start to tell you their actual policies, not the lies they used to get your votes. It is always the same at every election throughout this accursed union. The Unionist parties all told you their main policy was to stop the SNP and bring Scotchland back into the warm embrace of Anglo-unionism. The UK, that land of milk and honey where everything is perfect, or at least it would be if it wasn’t for Johnny foreigners, poor people, non-whites and old and sick people who cause all the ills of the Union. It is not the greed of the few or our lack of talented politicians with vision. You must never blame them, always blame who they tell you is the problem.
If only the poor and dispossessed along with the non-whites would remember their station in life or miraculously just go away, then Mother England could return to the glory days of Victorian poverty and squalor! That is the ultimate goal of our neoliberal imperial masters at Westminster: the proletariat knowing their place and doffing their hats to their superiors would help too. Oh for the days when workers had no rights and no unions; that the brown and black people knew the massa was the boss and they worked for slave wages, stayed silent and stayed in their lane; the days when you stepped off the pavement to let your ‘superiors’ have right of way.
Oh, how they long for the day when the Jocks, the Paddies and the Taffies return to knowing their station in life as England’s tame colonies and remembering to only praise the magnificence and benevolence of London. You must never criticise the theft and pillage, and if you do, you will be labelled a terrorist, an enemy of the nation-state!
As an opener, Reform made their intentions clear from day one: they want to remove powers from Holyrood and return those powers to the Westminster parliament where the “big boys” sit. It worked so well for the nation in the pre-devolution days, NOT!

The one thing that was made plain to the voters of Scotland during the campaign was that none of the unionist parties had anything to say that would actually improve the daily lives of the Scottish population! From inside their hate-filled anti- Scottish bubble they thought everyone hated the idea of independence as much as them, and that would be sufficient to get your vote.
The SNP on their way to their 5th consecutive Holyrood election victory and, when you include UK GEs and EU and council election victories, are on 11 or 12 straight election wins. Apparently, though, according to John Swinney, he became leader just in time to save the SNP, who John says were on the point of collapse before he single- handedly saved the party. What he did is not quite so clear as it is to Honest John. These politicians do love to talk themselves and their importance way up!

Meanwhile, The National, in one of their now famous (or is it infamous) headlines, declared Swinney and Starmer are going to talk referendums when and if Starmer survives into June. You are all aware that John Swinney, during the election, promised the voters on the first day back in Holyrood he would prepare the legislation for an independence Section 30 referendum. Though on day one we had silence, and several days into the new parliament, the big boss in London said he was too busy to speak with John and in around a month or so John could come to the imperial capital and return to Scotland after meeting the Big Chief with a truck full of mirrors and beads!

These are the main topics that our panel of Terry Howson, Phil Boswell, and Joe Smith concentrated on in the Through A Scottish Prism Podcast. There are several other topics covered, however, I must encourage you to look forward to a wonderful and hilarious story from Terry Howson regarding a time when she owned a dress shop in the West End of Glasgow.

Much as I dislike Tice, I think it only right to point out he never made the quote you attributed to him. It appears to have been made up, probably on satirical grounds.

And so the Reform ultras want as a matter of policy to introduce fracking across Scotland. Indeed, they are going to introduce tax incentives to assist its development.
Fracking as teqhnique for extraction of gas or oil. As its portmanteau description suggests it is a technique involving hydraulic fracturing to allow gas extraction.
Gas extraction, with or without fracking techniques causes changes in the earths sub strata. You do not have to be a rocket scientist to realise that. Changes in the earths sub stratus have effects. Under the sea they are maybe not noticed. But on land they can be noticed and the impacts are huge.
The Nertherlands certainly found that out and folks would do well to do a bit of research into the Gronigen area where on shore gas extraction has wreaked huge damage to not just the environment but also to the people.
Over 100,000 houses have been damaged, with many facing severe foundation shifts, cracked walls, and, in some cases, becoming acutely unsafe to inhabit. This is a major issue for people living in the area.
Critical infrastructure like waterworks have been severely damaged. Land levels have dropped by up to 15 inches in places. Just think of that folks. Roads, sewers, building, houses, and it is not difficult to see how with corporate tax incentives Reform want to fruck you.
And the water courses. What about the water courses, what about good old Scottish water clear and pure and full of hydrocarbon and radioneuclide contaminants from the frucked ground strata. But it won’t be the Reform mandarins in Westminster who will.be drinking the water.
And so, recognising Reforms policy for fracking to extract gas from Scotland, folks might do very well to aquaint themselves with the Groningen area in the north of the Netherlands.
