Conflicted

Rumours abound that the UK Government are contemplating striking down the GRR Bill. The Prime Minister himself has passed comment on this legislation. It would be “completely reasonable” for the UK government to consider blocking new gender reforms in Scotland, the British prime minister, has said. He elaborated further. Speaking during a visit to a homeless shelter in London, Rishi Sunak said: “Lots of people have got concerns about this new Bill in Scotland, about the impact it will have on women’s and children’s safety.

“So I think it is completely reasonable for the UK Government to have a look at it, understand what the consequences are for women and children’s safety in the rest of the UK, and then decide on what the appropriate course of action is.”

Sunak was not alone in passing comment, Scottish secretary Alister Jack going as far as saying he may invoke section 35 of the Scotland Act, which gives him an effective veto on laws he believes impact on reserved matters.

Kemi Badenoch another UK Cabinet Minister was scathing in her condemnation of this Bill.

My statement on the Scottish National Party’s Gender Recognition Bill which passed today. I was disappointed to see sensible amendments to this bill voted down and believe MSPs need more time to address outstanding concerns.

There are genuine concerns in England that the Scottish Bill could conflict with existing UK wide legislation, namely The Equalities Act. There are also worries that individuals from England and Wales could use and abuse the GRR Bill and bring problems back home to other parts of the Union with them. Will a GRC be legal in those countries and the six occupied counties of Ireland? Do they revert back to their biological gender when recrossing borders? Does the GRR conflict with the EA 2010? Whatever, it seems the GRR Bill could be in difficulties.

The phrase ‘Power devolved is power retained’ was never more appropriate. I have discussed this very likelihood several times with my guests on Through A Scottish Prism. I have expressed my own internal conflict regarding a Westminster intervention. On the one hand I find the GRR Bill an abomination. Making it even worse was the rejection of the amendments to prevent convicted sex offenders from obtaining a GRC. Also the Michelle Thomson sensible amendment that people awaiting trial for sexual offences should be debarred from obtaining gender certificates.

Rejecting these two sensible amendments to the Bill and removing any physiological evaluations before Self-Identifying as the opposite sex are the most obvious flaws in this badly drafted piece of Queer Theory legislation.

If mere political anoraks like myself saw the likelihood of Westminster intervention why didn’t our First Minister see it happening? Why didn’t she send this particular Bill to the Court in London for a decision before proceeding to act? After all it is now the raison d’etre of her party. Shouldn’t she have ensured it’s safe passage before legislating? It is quite telling that she took the exact opposite view with the Draft Referendum Bill when she sent that to the Supreme Court before legislating for a Referendum. Again it confirms to us all which she holds as more important. Queer Theory trumps independence every time in the Sturgeon government, no matter the cost to Scotland or its independence cause.

My problem is this, as an independence supporter all my life I am opposed to Westminster intervening against the democratically elected decisions taken at Holyrood. On the other hand I think this GRR is a disastrous and dangerous piece of legislation that will harm Scots and our society.

Sunak and his advisors, unlike Sturgeon, will have gamed all the outcomes. They will have seen all the polls where huge majorities of Scots oppose this abomination of a Bill. They can be seen to save 51% of the population from an ill thought out, badly drafted piece of legislation that puts women and young girls at risk. That just might give the Tories in Scotland a boost in the polls and save a few seats for them.

Alternatively, they can sit back and let it stand and wait for the inevitable horrific consequences that will result from this Stonewall, Queer Theory disaster. It gives me no pleasure to suggest that predatory adult human males will abuse this law for their evil sick pleasures. When that happens, the UK Government will exploit it for all it is worth to show just how incompetent and reckless the SNP Scottish Government are for the people of Scotland. Again that could be good for the Tories come the next election.

So, yes, I am conflicted, I hate this bill with every fibre of my body. It destroys women’s hard fought rights to satisfy a tiny minority of troubled human beings, less than 1% while 51% of our population are sacrificed to appease a lobbying group. They themselves being used by big pharma. Always follow the money!

It is not a conflict I can easily resolve. Once again Sturgeon has been exposed as devoid of strategic ability. If she had accepted the sensible amendments, albeit one from the Tories she may have avoided the intervention of London. Once again though, her pig headeness prevented compromise and is resulting in once more putting Scotland and Holyrood at the behest of Westminster.

Much as I despise this Bill it highlights why Scotland needs independence. Good or bad legislation we should be able to make our own decisions without foreign politicians having any say over those decisions.

Lastly when The Supreme Court struck down the Draft Referendum Bill the SNP were so incensed they said hardly anything. Indeed, they were so unconcerned they decided to wait 116 days before convening a ‘Special conference’ (in reality renamed their annual Spring Conference) to allegedly come up with a response to the Union’s court decision thwarting Scottish independence.

Their reaction to even the threat of Westminster intervening in this legislation the SNP have come out fighting! They are not waiting 116 days for this one!

Scotland’s Social Justice Secretary has said the Government will “vigorously contest” any attempts by Westminster to block a controversial new gender reform.

https://www.thenational.scot/news/national/23210243.scottish-government-will-vigorously-contest-attempts-block-gender-law/

It highlights perfectly where the SNP priorities now lie. Stonewall’s Queer Theory is more important to the SNP than Scottish Independence. That much is very clear. Let us hope the Scottish voters understand this too!

Help me beat the censors.

Since I first expressed my opposition to this entire GRA nonsense I have found myself being banned and blocked on social media platforms. Even here many people who have subscribed to my blogs no longer revieve notifications when I post a new blog.It has grown worse since February last year when I made my views as a peacenik clear and refused to join in with the war mongers and their Russophobia. I have opposed wars my entire life and will not for the sake of popularity jettison my principles. If you agree with my musings in these blogs I would ask that you share my blogs wherever you can on social media and help me beat the censors and war mongers.

  • I wish I could believe that this was her “secret plan” all along – to win further support following the intervention of WM in Scottish affairs. Unfortunately, if that was the case, she has picked the wrong cause. She has now alienated too many women who would not trust her an inch. Nor do they trust any future SNP bods to reverse the legislation and would no longer even vote for independence.

    • “and would no longer even vote for independence.” ie The great white hope of WM. Thus their great plan is being carried out by the anti-Scottish Sturgeon.
They haven’t forgotten all the tricks they learned in order to gain an empire. And having lost the empire they can’t afford to lose all that remains – Scotland and our assets. So they’ll hang on, tooth and nail, if they possibly can. It’s up to us, the people of Scotland, to thwart their twisted ways.
We must also make sure they return the Scottish waters they blatantly stole shortly before the Scottish Parliament was reconvened.

  • Gaming possible outcomes seems to be beyond the capabilities of the party in power but might it be possible that the legislation is designed to be slapped down by Governor General Alister Jack and unify the cause of independence against our oppressor ?

    • It may indeed Dek however,as you allude to there is not a chance that was planned by Sturgeon. I am surprised she can even find here way to Holyrood every day.

    • I very much doubt it, as Westminster/HoL are very alarmed by this stuff, and want to avoid infection. As BB says, when has Sturgeon shown the least acumen in relation to tactics for independence? To suggest that is to misunderstand at a fundamental level the aim of Queer Theory, its application, and the motives of the billionaires backing it. The SNP was captured and placed in agar jelly, Scotland was the experiment lab, Sturgeon, Harvie, Slater, et al were the scientists and we are the hapless society that the resultant vaccine carrying the infection, not against it, will be used on, as an experiment in Queer Theory (backed by global corporatism). Thereafter, it is intended that the infection should radiate out from Scotland to the rest of the UK.

  • “If mere political anoraks like myself saw the likelihood of Westminster intervention why didn’t our First Minister see it happening?”

You need to think harder, of course the SNP and Sturgeon knew the Uk Gov would act but all they want is a cause to try to create more grievance’s in Scotland to fill the void of not being able to provide any plan for getting Independence at all , they are just causing diversions to try to keep people voting for them as long as possible and little else. The SNP will continue to pay Lawyers tens of millions to cause delays and UK Gov “challenges” which they will lose all just to try to keep their own Jobs , meanwhile the SNP continues to cut Public Services in Scotland themselves. What a complete waste of Scottish taxpayers money, but they don’t care.

    • I disagree entirely. This unionist trope about grievance politics is actually reflection politics. All we hear from unionists is grievance politics. If she just wanted grievance she could have used Draft Referendum Bill.d

    • If they’re smart, the UK gov will legislate such that the GRR Act cannot affect things in England, Wales, NI, and allow those of us in Scotland to stew in the mess the SG has created.

Just how HMG would go about that, I don’t know. The difficulty for HMG s that they recognise foreign certs, and from countries allowing self ID. Maybe HMG will only legislate so as to protect stats, so that real and legal sex can be distinguished?

The other niggle is that anything they do may be moot, given the expectation that Labour for the next UK gov, and that they’re all on board with the self ID belief?

  • Any idiot suggesting, we wait for Independence is a moron and wants his head read. Independence was a dream in 2014 and in 2023 we have no idea even if Independence will be deliverable in any of our lifetimes. So, I welcome the UKG involvement in challenging this act that only benefits 1%.

  • The SNP are happy to play and abide by the legal system under UK law, then why shouldn’t the same system then protect the citizens of Scotland from a dictatorship running us.
The SNP are going to find it extremely hard saying UK bad if challenged in the courts and shouting Scotland needs to be Independent when Scotland legal systems was Independent and the SNP have not trashed idea. I personally can’t see the benefit of having a SNP government they can’t delivery a binding and legal referendum nor can they retake us back into the EU.

    • Excellent point. WM set up devolution and has sovereignty over it (over Holyrood, note, not over the people). Therefore, if you accept devolution, you accept WM sovereignty. Fact. We, the people can tell WM to get stuffed, but the Scottish government can’t. Not the current one anyway. They can moan all they like, but they won’t do anything about it (if only). Never thought it would come to this.

  • It’s possibly worse than you suggest re the incompetence of the “Scottish Government”. What if they actually planned for such a flawed and divisive piece of gender woo woo to have maximum effect and to really stir the pot – not for Indy but against it and to further show how totally useless this present lot are at any form of government. Bought and paid for and used as the worst kind of pawns. This is a long game they are playing, and very effectively. Meanwhile, the colonial asset stripping continues apace.

  • ‘Democracy ‘ comes in many guises. I have always been wary of devolution and have come to see Holyrood as another dysfunctional attempt to provide democracy by those who have no real wish for true fairness. This Gender recognition legislation has been lobbed into the mix for reasons and motives we may never know and highlights the absurdity of the structures that ‘govern ‘ us. I have sympathy with most minority groups who face discrimination. I have a personal stake in the plight of those with neuro diversity and autism, a group that has been let down and lied to by Holyrood, but acknowledge there are many groups who face similar failures in policy. Why those with gender diversity have been thrust to the top of the list is a mystery. Like previous autism policies I doubt the GRA will provide an increase in actual services for genuine cases. The motives are always political regardless of who the minority group are it seems.
Independence was always central to me but I reached a point with the continuous failure of services to my son where it could no longer be justified by playing the ‘long game’ for independence. That long game has now covered his entire childhood with no improvement and the continued kicking of the independence can down the road till God only knows when. I have long ran out of patience and will vote in what I see as the best interests of groups who need support or on what I see as right and wrong. For the protection of women and girls (my daughter among them) I have no problem with Westminster stepping in on this matter. The current political systems are dysfunctional and being exploited by dishonest politicians for their own interests. It is they who should hang their heads in shame not those of us trying to advocate for those who face discrimination or need protections.

    • The problem is that we now do not have. SNP but Greens/SNP. And guess who is boss.I did not vote SNP for this, I voted for independence. I will not vote SNP at the next election.

  • Dear Roddy

I was in the chamber for the last session and the vote on the flawed GRR Bill. While I share your desire to see Scotland run its own affairs, what I witnessed proves that Scotland’s future is not in safe hands while Nicola Sturgeon and her SNP politicians are in place. Far from it what was demonstrated is that Scotland would be a basket case if left in the hands of the current SNP. They do not represent the will of the Scottish Nation.

Frankly the SNP do not even represent the membership of their party. Members have been silenced and used to simply provide funds for a corrupt cabal of SNP movers and shakers. Anyone who tries to stand up to their bullying is branded a bigot or simply blocked on social media. Ring fenced funds have been spent and lies told about the whereabouts. The parties membership has shrunk while Nicola has been in charge.

The GRR Bill perfectly demonstrates that Scotland needs a clear constitution with basic rights written in stone. Human Rights, Equal Rights must never be in the hands of second rate political puppets. Sadly that is what was on show just before Christmas. I couldn’t believe that I found my self agreeing with Scottish Conservative MSP’s. I really couldn’t. A small number of principled SNP MSP’s spoke up but they were small in number just 9 I believe?

This is what happens when a party uses the candidate vetting process to block people with experience and wave through young inexperienced candidates. Add in some opportunists who just so happen to donate large sums to the party and you have a SNP that has been bought and paid for. Few of the donators seem to really support independence?

You may remember a few years back there was a group of SNP members who stood for the internal office positions. I was one of them and that was sadly the last chance to save the SNP from the infiltrators. Since then the SNP Good Guys have resigned and left the party. It’s been wrecked by Nicola Sturgeon and her CEO husband. Sadly we are lucky to have the safety net of the Scotland Act. We must vote for real political minds who will put the basic constitutional rights in place before the next Scottish Government is voted into power.

In a way I think we should be thankful that the incompetence of Nicola Sturgeon and her SNP MSP’s has been exposed before the Scottish Parliament has full powers. Time for all SNP voters to vote for a real indy party with real political leadership. 2023 will help see the Alba Party make real progress.

    Regards

    • Hear, Hear. 2nd rate political puppets must never be in charge and we need that constitution. Nodding dogs to a spent narcissist need to go, along with said narcissist and hangers on, spads, ceo’s etc. We mustn’t let this sad state of affairs happen again. We need to learn from this bloody nose handed to us by the brit state and their colonial puppets. They will use anything in their power to divide, conquer, dilute and dispirit our efforts to be free of their yoke. There is simply too much at stake for them and isn’t it time we realised this and began to act accordingly. Us being sovereign and all that…

    • David: Thatcherism left us wide open to all of this, from privatisation of crucial industries, of education, of the NHS, that need to be in the public sector, to the neoliberalism that is backing the ‘trans’ movement. We had just over thirty years of social democracy after WW II. Just over thirty years of relative decency!

The public sector did become bloated, and people/unions did take advantage of their power to the extent that many became drunk on it. The backlash fed directly into Tory mythology of lazy working-class people, big wage packets and lack of responsibility. However, the dismantling of our society under the Tories, Lib Dems and New Labour, and under the guise of improvement and cutting out waste has led to the worst excesses of corruption ever experienced since early Victorian times, with wealth and power concentrated in the hands of the elites.

The ‘trans’ movement is simply the vanguard for another elite, neoliberal wave of global and unregulated capitalism. Everything comes down to either money/power or sex or both in human societies. The ‘trans’ movement is no more or less than an attempt to wrest power from the people by another set of elites.

By the way, I’m no Marxist or Socialist, but a social democrat. We need to stop seeing this movement as in any way about human rights: it is all about power, and we are being manipulated at an emotional level to believe that black is white. Once you see through the lies and the obfuscations, you cannot go back to unseeing.

      • Hello Lorna

I think it’s a sign that the madness of the Trans issue has been pushed in small countries before moving on the bigger countries. I saw in 2016 at the SNP conference the lobbyists at work. 56 MP’S meant the SNP had power and influence in Westminster.

Human Rights are a must for our country and must be in bedded in our Constitution and we need a 2nd chamber that is not made up of political parties. No new law should be able to damage or infringe the Constitutional rights.

We have clear dangerous conflicts of interest in Scotland between the Scottish Government Cabinet Office and the Judiciary. This requires to be separated with out delay.

We have reports of the Police ignoring basic Human Rights to Freedom of Expression and Right to Peaceful Protest. So I disagree with you on the need for Human Rights I think they are essential and central. Also Human Rights ensures the people have power.

        • Absolutely agree, David. I have never been a fan of abolishing the HoL, just it’s make-up. Yes, there is a paper trail these activists have left which we can follow. All that is required for this to be laid to rest is for Westminster to introduce new versions of both the 2010 EA and the children’s rights act on the grounds that they will be adversely affected in the area of human rights if the Scottish bill goes through, and keeping biological men out of women’s spaces, rights, sports, sex-specific jobs, etc., and making far more stringent safeguards for children must be the priorities. That would negate the worst aspects of the Scottish parliamentary legislation before it ever gets to the King’s signature. No need for a confrontation with Holyrood at all. Anyone who understands constitutional law in the UK knows that this GRR bill was on a very shoogley peg from day one. What must then be done is to hold a proper analytical consultation with all the devolved administrations, setting the limits of the ‘trans’ lobbyists on public policy. I would never normally advocate that Westminster take a hard line, but this stuff could prove so detrimental to our entire society that is has become essential.

  • David Henry says “We must vote for real political minds who will put the basic constitutional rights in place before the next Scottish Government is voted into power.”

Wise words.. That’s the only way forward.

  • I wish it would just affect the 2010 EA, but it will affect all women’s equality legislation throughout the UK. The EA provisions for protected characteristics is dead in the water and will require new female-specific legislation – that is one way round this without going to war against Holyrood. The other protected characteristics are equally vulnerable. If a man can be a woman, he can be a black woman; if he can be a woman, he can be a disabled woman (yes, there is a paraphilia/fetish that covers that); and so on.

All legislation that affects women’s equality, plus those acts that cover child welfare, etc. will all be impacted by this bilge. I wish people would get their heads round the fact that none of this is accidental. I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but this has been carefully rolled out across the West, and always starting in the smaller (by population or by area) countries: Scotland/Wales – England, Canada (Tranada) – US, New Zealand – Australia, Norway – Sweden, Iceland – Denmark… Coincidence? I really do not think so. Several American and Canadian psychologists/psychiatrists have admitted that they see psychopathic behaviour in this movement, but very organised psychopathic behaviour with a purpose.

We need to stop feeling sorry for ‘puir wee sowels’ in the wrong body – many of them glory in female humiliation and harm – and start worrying about how we are going to stem the tide of this madness. There is no such thing as ‘trans’, only people who are deluded and confused or porn-driven, who are being used to push through Queer Theory. When we have defeated it, we can turn our attention to actually helping people who are body/gender dysphoric, with counselling. Even those who have paraphilias need help to keep them under control because they are an addiction, just as porn can be.

If the liberal, democratic West falls under the onslaught of this vile nonsense, it will be no different from every other civilisation that has fallen in the past, and totalitarianism awaits. Frankly, I would not give much hope for anyone who does not conform in a totalitarian regimes, so these people are laying traps for themselves as they did under Hitler’s/Stalin’s/Mao’s/Pol Pot’s regime, when gays and ‘trans’ were swept into concentration camps. Always, it has come down to (mainly) male deviant sex undermining any chance of defending the civilisation, and those who benefit financially. Always. Without exception. Which is why it is not too hard to predict what this ‘trans’ lobby will do at any given point, and why, if the will is there, we can defeat it. Their next moves will be against prohibitive laws that protect us all, laws that give females power over their bodies and lives and laws that protect children (age of consent laws). The UKG has a unique opportunity to head this off through new, emergency, if necessary, legislation.

In past civilisations, females were little better than slaves and ciphers. No society can prosper as a liberal democracy without female input, which is why Afghanistan is sinking into a stone-age society in a modern world. The West has not treated females particularly well either until fairly recently, but it has always understood the need for female strength in time of war – keeping the home fires burning and manning industries, tilling the land for food production, and so on. To fight this abhorrent aberration, we will need to harness all our strengths – men and women and children together. Rome fell, rightly or wrongly, to the ‘barbarians’ because many effete Roman males were too busy role-playing every perversion known to man, and then some. It is rumoured that around a quarter or more of the American military is ‘trans’, and more and more British military are appearing on social media to proclaim their ‘trans-ness’.

With many female de-transitioners, we know, from their testimony, that they were trying to escape their gayness or their femaleness because of the pornified Western civilisation in which we now live. There are far fewer male de-transitioners, and, of those who had surgery, the loss of their penis has been devastating. Why are our boys wanting to remove their penises? Some psychologists suggest that they have been marginalised in our female-centric society? Aye, is that right? Perhaps it is down more to the demoralising and dehumanising effects of the loss of mainly working-class industries (under Thatcherism) where boys underwent, naturally, crucial rites into manhood and responsibility before eventually starting families. Feminism has not caused this. It is glib, but very convenient, to suggest that it did. Neither is it any answer to dehumanise females again.

    • Absolutely, and the comments from Lorna and David Henry are illuminating, though not very hopeful in our present situation.
We need away out of this utter confusion, which I agree is deliberate, and caused by powers that will do nothing for ordinary people.

      • Ann: this ‘trans’ stuff is very much a middle-class movement, and, yes, it takes attention away from real, bread-and-butter policies to help ordinary people. It also takes away from independence. However, it could also be the issue that brings down the SNP/Green axis in that there will be a chance to drive a wedge in now and force the two parties to look to social policy in the very fundamentals of life in Scotland. We are stuck in the groove until this is sorted out.

  • Frankly we are now potentially in a worse position that before the creation of the Scottish parliament.

Under Sturgeon and her utterly mendacious government ordinary folks now resent the parliament and what it delivers.

This can go two ways. One people just give up on independence.

Or two, they resolve to secure a proper independent Scottish Parliament.

Problem is with this SNP in place the SP is an absolute blocker to independence.

Sturgeon and her ilk must be removed. And of course it is now all so apparent why a) Alex Salmond, others like him and the wider Yes had to be destroyed and b) Why an Alba – SNP super majority which would have been achieved with SNP1 and Alba 2 had to be stopped.

The colonial masters and their Stooges in the SNP and SG have schemed well.

But we can win. People can choose independence, reject colonialism.

    .
    .

  • I see the whole ‘trans’ movement as a cack handed sharp-end of a movement that rejects gender stereotypes. Post-war feminism improved things for women in big ways, although still far from satisfactory, and gender non-conformity among men is now rising too. It’s ultimately a good thing, it’s just clumsy in its current expression.

The problem I have with ‘trans’ is it implies that change is self-centred, that the person changes, whereas the gains come from the changes in society – that we stop differentiating gender to the extent that we do. I mean, we even ‘gender’ what side our shirts button on!

It’s no wonder that young people are unsatisfied with these archaic absurdities, and ask why e.g. men expressing femininity is somehow demeaning their manliness (please consider that last example carefully).

    • Troumie McMaster: most of us recognise our sex and gender as being compatible, and, if society would just stop pushing gender stereotypes on to children and leave to grow up as they are, the world would be a happier place. However, that is not what is happening here, and it is a great deal more than being clumsy.

Men can express femininity all they want, but what is actually being expressed most of the time is a paraphilia(s)/fetish(es) and they bode no good for females because they are sex-driven and are practised by mainly heterosexual men. Men can do and be whoever they like, just do not impinge on our boundaries to do it. That is very difficult because it is all about breaching female boundaries, isn’t it? I do not know whether you are male or female, but most women who deplore this stuff also deplore ‘woman-face’ which we find insulting and an appropriation just as black people tend to find ‘black-face’. Drag, for example, makes many women want to be sick, yet it is being pushed on to women and children.

I was watching some old TV recently, Scottish comedy, and I recall another comedian stating that Stanley Baxter was just a little too fond of wearing dresses [to the point that it went past caricature to appropriation]. I remember feeling a little uncomfortable at the time, and, seeing him again, I knew why right away. For women, there is something instinctively wrong with men dressing as women and liking it and flaunting it. It is the public display of a fetish and it is harmful to females. Rape and sexual assault are the apex of a large smorgasbord of harmful male behaviours. I’m not talking about the panto dame which can be very funny and is mostly not intended to be, or taken to be, offensive. The humour lies in everyone knowing that the dame or the ugly sisters is an exaggerated version of slapstick. With some forms of drag and ‘woman-facing’, it is uncomfortable because, instinctively, we know that they are not pretending to be women, but actually try to be women for reasons that make us very uneasy – which is a whole different ball game.

      • You keep framing femininity expressed by men as a fetish, because older generations always framed it that way, or as something dangerous, or as something ridiculous to mock. There were similar claims against 19th/20th century women who appropriated the clothing styles and habits of men, they faced violence, vitriol, and ridicule, from people very much like you.

You’re conflating violent, aggressive men with effeminate men. They couldn’t be more different.

        • That is because it is a fetish, Troumie, just as it is the other way around, but for different reasons most of the time. It is far more of a social contagion for young females, and even young males can be caught up in the contagion, too. The ‘old’ sexologists/sexual psychologists – and no one has ever overturned their findings, and all of them corroborated each other’s findings – found that there are two basic types of ‘trans’ women: homosexual and heterosexual. The first group were and are very effeminate men, and wish to attract males; the second group are heterosexual and still function with females, but only, normally, on their terms.

I have never been violent towards any ‘trans’ person, nor would I be. I am not ridiculing or being vitriolic either. I am a woman and giving as good as women get, and I do not claim to act or speak for all women. This stuff is anti woman and despicable. I believe that ‘trans’ women, in particular, are frauds in the main who know they are not women, but who wish to perpetrate that nonsense because it suits them. No other group in the history of human rights has ever sought to take away the rights of another group, even more vulnerable (physically) than they are.

Try reading the harrowing accounts of women who have been married to these men and whose lives are destroyed by them: the coercion, the threats, the demands to conform to being lesbians, basically, and last, but by no means least, the aggression and often violent behaviours if these wives renege, and the harm done to their children.

These men know they are not women. These men are men. Men are a threat, as a sex class to women and children, as a sex class(es) if they breach their boundaries and safe spaces because of the history of the need for those safe spaces. Why don’t they campaign for third spaces, for sports leagues of their own, against each other, why don’t they date each other as ‘lesbians’ instead of trying to force female lesbians to sleep with them when that would revolt them? Why don’t you ask them, Troumie, why they behave as they do? Women, in the West, had to fight for everything we have. Why can’t ‘trans’ people?

Have you ever witnessed a Pride rally or march? I suggest you do, if you have a strong stomach because a large number of fetishes are on public display there, in front of children. They almost all have a sexual basis. These people out themselves without my help or anyone else’s. The fact that they deny the origins of their proclivities only serves to reinforce the truth, and their own awareness that their behaviour is not acceptable in public, yet they carry on doing it. Why? It gives them some of their sexual kicks to humiliate females, to con the public, the rest of the sexual thrills come from humiliating themselves as women.

I know that there are long-term transsexuals who would never harm women, and who never claim to be women, but, again, they have breached female spaces without even asking permission because the sexologists and sexual psychologists told them to “live as women”, as if any of them would know. Now, the latest batch have put their shoulders to the half-open door and demand entry for one and all. Oddly enough, although you probably wouldn’t believe me, I feel a huge sympathy for anyone so caught up in this stuff that they can’t function properly. However, unless people admit to themselves that they have a problem, there is nothing you can do except pile up the sandbags and try to keep them out. Above all, you cannot afford to show sympathy or they will use it against you. Power and control is what they are about.

          • There’s an interesting sex-offender database (uk-database.org) which as been quite painstakingly compiled with verified documents and articles. It’s a wonderful effort, though harrowing in particular because it’s a lot of horrible stuff concentrated into one place.

I once searched it for any ‘trans’ related stories, and after eliminating ‘transatlantic’ etc. I was left with three cases out of around 76,000 (and one of them was really just a predator escaping his past identity). Of course, there will be other cases, but actual trannies seem to be a lower risk statistically even than women.

The only question you asked that I can answer is that, no, I have never been to a pride rally or event. Nobody’s ever asked me to go, and I don’t particularly want to go. Your other questions I can’t answer, maybe ask the trannies you refer to instead.

I have a question, which is the root of my interest in this. Why is it that my daughter can have pretty much any hand-me-downs from her big brother that she wants, but even a warm coat or pair of wellies of my daughter’s that are *slightly* effeminate will never go to her little brother?

It’s a genuine question. I should be able to answer it, this is my own family, but I can’t.

          • Troun you seem to believe that Lorna abd others who object to this madness have a problem with genuine trans people. That is not, and never been the case. The real concern is predatory males using and abusing this legislation to gain access to enter women only safe spaces. That this abomination of a bill was allowed to pass while rejecting any safeguarding amendments is the problem.

    • Troumie: we are never going to get to grips with the phenomenon of ‘trans’ unless we look at what it itself shows it to be. I am not referring to transsexuals who have gone through all the surgery because they are not a risk to females, albeit they still have no business in women’s safe spaces, rights and sex-specific jobs, etc.

To tell you the truth, I think it is that men cannot accept men who are not traditional men. It has little to nothing to do with females at all. Personally, I would accept a child or grandchild of mine as whatever they were, although I do admit that being ‘trans’ would make life so very, very hard for them, even harder than it is for gay people, who are, in general, accepted now, although, they, too were once vilified. ‘Trans’ is not real, Troumie, because no one can change sex. I read a piece a long time ago about a group of girls on a Caribbean island who changed into boys at puberty. It was a mystery at the time, but, since then, it has been discovered that these changelings had always been male; their genitalia had not developed properly at birth and the surge of testosterone at puberty developed them to proper male genitalia. As far as I know, they all went on to father children.

What we are allowing to be done to children is perverse because their innate sexuality is actually being taken away from them, especially the girls’ innate sexuality since they usually have breast removal and testosterone which atrophies their internal sexual organs. If they opt for phalloplasty, their clitoris is reduced to nothing, with nerve endings destroyed. Young boys are also encouraged to remove their penis and grow breasts. It is adult men who, in this latest wave, have refused to have surgery. Why not, is not difficult to work out: because their fetish is sexual, wholly sexual, often driven by excess consumption of pornography, and they need to retain their penis to get maximum pleasure from the fetish. I do have sympathy for gay people who abhor this stuff and for transsexuals who are no part of this latest craze, bt, most of all I feel for children, young people and woman who are its real victims.

We need to stop all this mutilation of children and young people, because that is what it is, in order that adult men can indulge their fetish by claiming that they were born in the wrong body or that they have a gendered soul. We are doing no one any good at all by pandering to this nonsense that is so damaging to our youth and to society as a whole. That is why I call it out for what it is, and, believe me, I have researched this stuff in far more depth than is probably healthy for me. As a woman, it enrages me that we are being conned yet again by sex-driven and often deviant and perverted men. I’m sorry if you find that appalling, but that is the truth of it. You should go and have a look at a Pride March – which are now totally different from the Gay Pride Marches – because these people are telling us all exactly what they are, in full view of children. The flaunting of a fetish is also a fetish, by the way, and is parasitical in the sense that it feeds off the discomfort of others.

      • If you re-read your comments on this (as with barrheadboy), you must see the contradictions. Like “this is not about trannies” vs “they’re fetishist perverts” vs “i would accept a child however they are”.

My question, which you avoided, for which I have no answer, is (more succinctly) “why is it okay for my daughter to wear a blue Fortnite top, but not for my son to wear a pink Frozen top?”. To suggest it’s acceptable would be a lie and a cop-out. It’s a profound question. Why is my daughter’s hand-me-down inappropriate for a boy?

Diminishing gender *significance* is the very thing that would make mutilation of bodies largely irrelevant, pointless because young people could express themselves however they please. Instead you yell “FUCKING PERVERTS!!!” at them. It doesn’t help at all.

        • I answered it. If you are a man, you will know why it is ‘not acceptable’. Lots of men and boys wear pink (pink was the original colour for males, and blue for girls, believe it or not). Women, generally, don’t care about gendered things in the sense that they have never been a big deal for most of us who are of an age to have been ‘tomboys’. At puberty, however, we become sexual objects for men. Girly girls are actually few and far between in my experience. Likewise, I have known very effeminate boys who were heterosexual, but sensitive and nice boys.

I believe that gendering – i.e. societal stereotypes do none of us, male or female, any good. I never refer to ‘trans’ people as ‘trannies’ either. It is their total lack of respect for females and female boundaries that I deplore, not them as people. For me, they are no different from all the other male predators and sexists. There is no contradiction, because over 90% of the people who call themselves ‘trans’ are actually paraphiliacs and fetishists. Read up on Ray Blanchard, Michael Bailey, Ann Lawrence, Zucker… If you are going to argue your corner, you really do need to know what you are talking about.

So many non-‘trans’ people say things like: I have a friend who is ‘trans’ and ‘she’ (he) is so nice. That may be true, but others will say: I used to have a very dear ‘trans’ friend but I said something about women’s spaces, and he went apes**t and flounced off, and we haven’t spoken since. This is the problem, and why you can tell (mostly) that it is a paraphilia and/or narcissistic delusion, even a con, in fact. When they are thwarted from access to female spaces and rights, or when you point out paraphilia, they go into meltdown.

The sexual element of the ‘woman-face’ is so powerful that they fly off the handle when anything is done to prevent them from airing their paraphilia in women’s spaces. Again, I would ask you to have a wee look at a Pride Rally. So many fetishes on display, you would be hard-pressed to avoid them. A lot of fetishes are, generally, harmless, if practised in the bedroom with a consenting adult partner because the rest of the society is not confronted with them.

What you say about hand-me-downs is interesting in that I have always found that it is the boys who will not wear their sister’s jeans, for example, or their blazer because they view these as female clothes, whereas the girls will happily wear boys’ jeans. It must stem from being gendered at an early age and boys learn that certain clothes, manners, way of talking and thinking are all feminine, and, therefore, to be eschewed as beneath contempt. Now, you are edging closer to why men dress up as females and claim to be them. It is not to adulate females, although many try to make us believe that. It is actually very prevalent in porn, is demeaning and deliberately humiliating, and it stems from a masochistic desire for self-humiliation by acting and dressing as female because females are the lowest order of life these men can think of. They will tell you differently, of course.

Yes, it’s hard to accept for any any woman, but that is the truth of that particular form of paraphilia. It must lead us to realise that boys are gendered with their sex (making them the same) from a very early age, and that must be down to how society treats boys and girls differently. It must go far, far deeper than class, than gender, than anything else. If you say that ‘trans’ women should be accepted by men and invited into their spaces, a silence ensues because it is men who reject them. Women are more tolerant, but even we have our limits. This subset of men is really not our problem except insofar as they are problem for the whole of society because they pose a risk, whatever we try and pretend, because they are still men.

  • Absolutely right Roddy. Unionism is a faltered option. People will not go back to it. Independence is the future. And that is why we need to get the political campaign reinvigorated.

And yes, people have given up on the SNP in its current format. And make no mistake, they will depart and align with a movement that is committed to delivering the end of unionism.

And today, Sunak issued confirmation that Westminster is going to introduce legislation to make it illegal for people to go on strike. Funny old world but folks like Benito Mussolini ended up gracing a lamp post for sentiment like this.

Only a slave may not withdraw his labour someone once said. Well, if the Tories disagree with that, how many of them will bhe safe in their comfortable homes. Such policies are the road to absolute societal discord. And of course, thes e people who support this policy must feel very well insulated.

1930’s Germany, 2020’s Great Britain. Lets roll the dice Rishi. Billionaire prime ministers know best.

  • I have given up on the SNP in utter despair and disgust. I will never vote for them again.
Should they be foolish enough to turn up on my doorstep I will be very explicit as to why I will never give them my vote again.

  • It rankles that our FM ‘respected the ruling of UKSC’ so meekly, yet gets on her high horse over another flawed policy idea. The Bill was SGreens red line. it was the deal done to back up SNP. Will Harvie walk away?Nae chance, that ministerial wage is to precious! I hope UK Gov abolish GRA now. NS uttered the mantras – Transwomen are women, most maligned etc. If it was all for SGreens benefit, its her best act yet!UK Gov could keep then ‘in court’ for years. Meanwhile what? NS strikes me as a spiteful, vengeful woman. Dorothy Grace Elder rather alluded to this in 2003 article! Its a mark of a fool who cannot admit they got it wrong. Now we can only hope they get on with the job in hand. Meanwhile I’m locked out of twitter, cannot take part in the conversation on it all 🙁

  • That will require a new phone number, and they will effectively shadow-ban you anyway just for using a VPN, especially if anyone reports a ‘tweet’. You will think you are posting, but few if any will ever see it.

Don’t assume that what you see on Twitter is what everyone else (or anyone else!) sees.

If possible, just wait for your account to be unlocked.
