Are no lessons being learned?

When the Supreme Court in England ruled that the Scottish government could not hold a second referendum on independence without approval from the British parliament, all genuine Independence supporters were disappointed. It was only those that believed in the myth that Nicola Sturgeon had some kind of secret plan that were surprised by the decision.

What horrified genuine Independence supporters was the reaction or should I say the lack of any reaction or urgency from Sturgeon and her minions to the English slapdown. After a few days Nicola informed us that the SNP would hold a ‘Special Conference’ 119 days later to formulate what to do next about independence!

This once more just highlighted how unfit Sturgeon was to be leading an independence movement. Almost 9 years of heading up the independence movement’s political wing and she had no Plan B, C, D or…Z! At that time this blog called for her resignation. This was a complete dereliction of her duty and exposed her lack of competence to lead the cause.

We now know that she didn’t want anything to detract from her main political goal of Gender mumbo jumbo. She had prioritised her GRRB over Independence that should now be obvious to everyone. Independence was shown to be a secondary, nice to have thing, but not a priority policy for her and the rest of her incompetent regime.

The rest as they say is history. From Independence being 10 points ahead just after the Supreme Court ruling we now find ourselves some 9 points adrift. Only the most devout followers of Sturgeon and her biology denying nonsense would attempt to repudiate the connection between GRRB and our present standing in the polls.

As the news filtered out to ordinary Scottish voters thanks to the attempt to house serial rapists Adam Graham and Andrew Burns in Cornton Vale Woman’s Prison, the polls turned. Not just on independence either. Nicola of Assisi saw her numbers plummet quicker than a skydiver chained to an anchor without a parachute.

On 22nd. January we had Sturgeon telling us just how much she had left in the tank and of her intention to carry on ad infinitum it seems! Then some 24 days later she tells us the tank is empty! Nothing suspicious there!

This made a mockery of the speech she delivered on Wednesday. We have already covered that she mentioned herself 115 times and Scotland only 11 times. She heaped so much false praise on herself it became difficult for some to watch her until the end of her diatribe.

We all accept that politicians rarely tell the absolute truth, if they did they would never be elected in the first place. Therefore, without the truth we are left to speculate the real reasons for her sudden departure. Not just this blog, everyone writing in the aftermath of her sudden resignation speech two days ago needs to make their own assumptions.

We do not know if the ladies and gents in grey kilts paid her a visit. Although highly unlikely. Sturgeon has hollowed out the party so much it is improbable there is anyone left with enough courage to have told her that her time was up.

As this blog said on November, 23rd after the SC judgement that was her time to go. When you head any organisation that fails on its ‘alleged’ core central mission the person at the top has to take the fall. Football managers do it all the time. Party leaders similarly resign after losing elections. Brown, Milliband, Corbyn, spring to mind, all jumped before they were pushed. We saw Alex Salmond do the right thing post September 18th, 2014. Lord Carrington post Argentine invasion of the Falkland Islands.

Sturgeon knew that once the Unionist media turned on her and started humiliating her gender nonsense, it was all over. She overnight became a global laughing stock and her massive ego just couldn’t take that. When the anti-Scottish media she had so assiduously courted and funded turned on her she knew it was time to go!

Perhaps if she hadn’t alienated the pro-independence media, she might have survived. We shall never know. However, despite resigning she still hovers over us all like a bad smell. When she resigned on Wednesday that should have been that. The Deputy Leader, Keith Brown should have immediately assumed the role of acting FM and Sturgeon should have taken her backbench seat immediately. Ever day she remains is another wasted day for the independence of Scotland. The necessary changes cannot be made while she and her cabal remain in situ!

Regrettably, that did not happen and 32 days away from the ‘Special Conference’ she left her party and the independence cause in a flux. Once again she put herself ahead of the Common Weal. Her resignation could have waited till after the party decided the way forward. She could have steered the party towards a Holyrood Plebiscite Independence Election in October 2023 as promised. Her resignation could and should have been timed to fit that timescale. That could have begun the collapsing of the Holyrood Parliament and paved the way to our independence. Her intentions could have been made clear on Wednesday so everyone knew at the upcoming Conference.

However, Nicola decided she was more important than the cause, despite her telling us in her long drawn out speech the exact opposite. She also told us she wouldn’t interfere, but she hoped her successor would keep the Greens in government! No interference there eh, Nicola!

So now 30 days out from what arguably was to be the most important ever gathering of SNP members are informed it is to be scrapped. Although, they will suggest merely postponed. What that now means is no Spring and Summer independence campaigning for an Independence Plebiscite in October. The Union remains safe for at least another year, possible longer!

We will be told that the Annual SNP Conference in October will be a platform for the new SNP leader to lay out their vision. We will be told that it is too soon to vote on independence and besides look at the polls we need to convince more of these mythical Soft No voters!

Before you know it, we will be into 2024 and a pending UKGE where once more the narrative will be one more mandate!  2026 will be time enough will be the cry.

The other scary factor is despite Sturgeon leaving her regime remains intact. Her husband is still party CEO and although under police investigation for financial irregularities in the SNP, his position looks safe. He should have been fired that day she took over the party leadership in 2014. He should have been fired on Wednesday too when she resigned!  As long as he remains Sturgeon still effectively controls the party.

Most worrying of all today we hear that Mike Russell is saying we should not in any way stop Sturgeon’s trans madness. The very Bill and issue that brought her down and damaged the independence cause with the voters and this idiot wants to keep it all in place! How stupid do you have to be to become SNP Party President? Mike time you toddled off too, you are worse than a man down!

The president of the SNP has told party rebels that it would be “foolish” to use the coming leadership election as a platform to ditch Nicola Sturgeon’s controversial policies on transgender rights.

We may have lost Sturgeon as leader however it seems the lunatics are still in charge of the SNP asylum!

Our only hope is that the new leader is not one of the present regimes biology denying nutters who all seem to be as mad as a box of frogs!

We need an old style  INDEPENDENCE NOTHING LESS SNP leader!

Help me beat the censors.

Since I first expressed my opposition to this entire GRA nonsense I have found myself being banned and blocked on social media platforms. Even here many people who have subscribed to my blogs no longer receive notifications when I post a new blog.It has grown worse since February last year when I made my views as a peacenik clear and refused to join in with the war mongers and their Russophobia. I have opposed wars my entire life and will not for the sake of popularity jettison my principles. If you agree with my musings in these blogs I would ask that you share my blogs wherever you can on social media and help me beat the censors and war mongers.

  • Have to say I didn’t hear Sturgeon’s resignation chat as I simply can’t bear to listen to her boring voice.
Thankful she has – more or less – gone.

  • Our mistake was the Grand Tour it went straight to her head. I reckon the way Sturgeon run the country and no interest in Scottish independence, with a new leader nothing will change until we rid ourselves of the SNP.

  • I’m the same Jan, I’ve been saying for a long time now, the only thing I want to hear from Nicola Sturgeon is her resignation speech but when it came around I still couldn’t bear to listen to her lying condescending voice

  • Like I’ve been saying its not just Sturgeon and Murrell that are toxic within the SNP its most of the MSPs and most of the MPs, we should all know by now that Scottish independence isn’t on the cards with the SNP whilst this lot are in office.

The SNP would never send their precious unamended GRRB to the UKSC to decide the outcome, yet that’s exactly what happened with the Holyrood competency bill to hold an indyref, it was sent to the UKSC so that the UKSC could decide that Scotland can never leave this union without England’s say so.

Stick to the game plan, Vote Alba, Join Alba, get the SNP out of office.

    • The UK Supreme Court has Senior Judges from Scotland , Northern Ireland and Wales in its membership , so hardly an “English” decision. The Scotland Act 2016 states constitutional issues lie with WM not with the Scottish Parliament , Alex Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon BOTH signed the Scotland Act so lets not pretend Sturgeon and the SNP didn’t already know they were acting outside their competency, the SNP only did it to stir the pot to try to keep people voting SNP and to try to blame WM for no future Indyref that the SNP don’t really want anyway.
We all know this so lets just all grow up and stop behaving like 12 years olds try to pretend WM didn’t have any right to do what it did.

      • Talking of competency you need to read again what was written. I know you Britnats are never the brightest however it might help if you got an adult to explain to you what was written.

  • Spot on Roddy. She has left a mess for others to sort out but there is no doubt with Murrell still in place she too is still working the strings. I suspect they will choose someone who will continue the gender identity politics and nothing has changed. Her humiliation by Westminster imposing the S35 order and stopping her flagship GRRB, cannot be left unchallenged and Scottish taxpayers are expected to pay for her need for vengeance. There seems to be no way of stopping this pair of charlatans.

  • I listened to about five minutes, did some housework, came back, still wittering on about being a human being, with no one arguing that she is actually a robot, went away, came back, still going on, went away, came back, questions. The Gettysburg Address took far, far less time.

I think Michael Russell stepped in with his ‘don’t ditch the GRRB’ mantra because they feared that the Greens would jump ship ahead of a new enthronement – which tells us exactly who cemented this into SNP policy: a wee, gay man with no skin in the game, and a daft handmaiden from Tranada who has imported her mad country’s ‘trans’ nonsense into Scotland without a by-you-leave. Lorna Slater, the liberated fled to Canada for refuge; they didn’t come to Scotland to infect us with their madness as you have done, and had the utter temerity to occupy a ministerial post in your host country while you unleashed the parasites on us. If you want to swan off back to Tranada in a huff because your odious policy was outed, don’t let the door hit your bony behind on the way out.

As the Rev points out, independence review all but ditched and ‘trans’ still on the agenda – just. If they try to push this now, the SNP is dead in the water forever, remembered like Redmond’s Irish Party as a collaborationist albatross around the neck of the independence movement in Ireland. What is it about the Celtic/Pictish temperament that we must always be shooting ourselves in both feet whilst also shooting the messenger for bringing the truth. Let truth not soil our lips! Let us remain in a state of unreality lest we actually win! Nearly nine years of a wasteland in so many different ways. God help us because no one else will – unless we do it ourselves. Now, there’s a novel thought. Ach weel, there’s aye the rugby. C’moan Scoatland.

  • “De facto referendum plan is ‘dead in the water’, says NEC member” according to The National. Sturgeon still working her unionist black magic.

    • The factual truth is it was dead in the water before Sturgeon resigned as WM SNP’s all knew it would cost them their jobs and WM expense accounts , Sturgeon is now just being blaming for something that was never going to happen anyway , most of the SNP membership already knew that too

  • Has she resigned? all I heard her was her announcement on her intention to resign.
I’d put nothing past this woman.
If a new leader for some reason couldn’t be chosen could she decide to carry on for the sake of the party, or wouldn’t she have the gall to do that?

  • “It all just got too much” – for FM Sturgeon. Isla,Beth, etc.The clincher, the Melrose butcher.

And Shona Robison? Bye, fly wi craws, be shot wi the craws.
