Historic Breakthrough for Scottish Independence as the Alliance to Liberate Scotland Is Officially Registered
Today marks a turning point in Scotland’s modern political history.
After a long, exhausting and at times openly hostile battle, the Alliance to Liberate Scotland has now been officially registered with the Electoral Commission. This is not just an administrative milestone, it is a political breakthrough that many within the British establishment and even some within Scotland’s own political class, worked desperately to prevent.
For years, the independence movement has been told to wait, to be patient, to accept betrayal, drift and managed decline. Behind closed doors, unionist forces, aided by a handful of so called “pro-independence” figures who fear losing control, attempted to block, delay and sabotage the emergence of a genuine alternative to the failed party system.
They have failed.
Our first application was resisted, our second was blocked purely on political grounds, with objections even raised to the name Liberate Scotland itself but instead of retreating, our committee adapted, out thought the obstruction and emerged stronger by registering as the Alliance to Liberate Scotland, we not only overcame the block, we turned it to our advantage. The new name now places us higher on the ballot paper, where voters will see us clearly and unmistakably.
That is not luck it is resolve.
For the first time in years, the people of Scotland now have a true independence party to vote for, one that carries no baggage, no record of retreat and no history of telling Scotland to settle for less.
The Alliance to Liberate Scotland is not a careerist vehicle or a rebrand of the old order, it is a coalition of the independence movement itself, bringing together,
• Independents 4 Independence
• The Independence for Scotland Party (ISP)
• Sovereignty
• And a growing number of grassroots independence organisations and unaffiliated campaigners from across the country
This Alliance exists for one reason only, to liberate Scotland, we are not here to manage devolution, we are not here to appease Westminster we are not here to protect party machines, we are here to finish the job.
Hundreds of thousands of independence supporters have been politically orphaned, taken for granted, ignored or actively silenced, many have watched the SNP drift from a movement into an institution, more focused on internal discipline and Westminster approval than delivering the independence mandate it repeatedly asked for. That era is over.
The Alliance to Liberate Scotland offers something radical in modern Scottish politics, honesty, courage and accountability to the people not to party hierarchies. We believe independence is not a bargaining chip or a long-term aspiration, but a democratic instruction that must be acted upon.
This registration sends a clear message; Scotland’s independence movement is no longer trapped inside a single party; the monopoly is broken; the door is open.
To every voter who still believes Scotland should be governed by the people who live here, this is your moment.

To reach the numbers necessary to get even one seat is going to take a very clever strategy but as you are all convinced you know what you are doing and block those like me asking the pertinent questions I wonder how you expect to have any effect.

Couldn’t you have just replied saying, ‘good idea, but we think getting leaflets created, printed and distributed’ isn’t the most effective use of our marketing budget. Want a membership, Paul? :)’

My question to the Alliance is this, should you be elected (even if just one member) to WM should you stand there, will you as SNP and Alba have done, sit at the back of the chamber subordinating Scotland, take the English parliamentary oath and uphold English conventions while deferring to our English treaty partner – the English (uk) gov) which is an abdication of agency, breach of Scots constitutional law and violation (by subordination)of Scots sovereignty or will you actively sit opposite the English gov in Parliament, take the zScottish oath and assert Scots sovereihnty at all times? This being the reason why Scots send their governmental delegation to WM in the first place.
For over 300 years Scots have either appointed English state representatives to govern Scotland or elected SNP and Alba who have deferred governance to ttheir treaty partner instead of standing up and representing Scotland in their true capacity. While I appreciate Neale Hanvey made a statement when the English office was opened in Edinburgh, there was no formal follow through and he went bsck to business as usual. Parcial acts on Scotland’s behalf won’t do. Scotland needs those with a zero tolerance for Scottish subjugation from both their own elected and their treaty partner. Also, will the Alliance make a formal denunciation (s a treaty partner on a binary treaty should) or go down the wrong road of secession which was what was being pushed during indy a d allowed the English establishment to promote the Greater England narrative? I ask this because Scotland doesn”t need more of the same. (300 years before a genuine Scots party held majority in Scotland and 10 years of them deferring back to the English government. In essence, Scots still governed by England despite electing Scots. ) if Alliance sit at WM they need 100% to ACT on Scotland’s behalf, no half measures. You will be up against our very own as well as the English (uk) government. It would be good if Alba were to collab and stand up too but history has shown us otherwise. The same gpes on terms of the admin MSP posts at Holyrood. Scotland should not be signing off on any legislation that is detrimental tp the Scots and their territorial integrity.
I personally would also like to see the devolution papers be brouht up and their denial of release to Scots challenged on grounds of broken trust between sovereign treaty partners and the violation to Scots integrity and as such being a violation to the treaty itself. These papers were sealed indefinitely and SNP just accepted it. This alone should have been grounds for denunciation but instead SNP let it go. Scotland has had reports like McCrone, Devolution and numerous others hidden and outright denied to Scots by their English treaty partner. It needs to be challenged openly and demanded with the sovereign authority we possess.

Hi Paul- what you say is correct. The British Establishment and their tame media will do everything they can to keep the formation of Alliance under wraps!
However it is up to us to do all we can. I started the group YES Pitlochry and also YES Stones after the 2014 ref. Our small committee held a stall on the high street every Sat 11.0am to 2.00pm with our gazebo and we all painted yes stones and gave them away for donations (the tourists loved them!) we usually made around £200 and every few months we got leaflets printed and delivered them to every house in Pitlochry.
We could all form groups and do something similar today.
Billboards!! Great things but expensive!! If we could all find a supporter (or supporters!) in our area that had a garden or field with good public exposure we could make our own (I’m sure we can get the support of a carpenter and local artists) and have them up on display 24/7.

Is it standing in all the Constituencies?
It’s saying that a vote for them and they’ll get indy at this coming Holyrood election.
For indy to come at this coming election, they’ll have to stand in every seat, and WIN them too. Those things have to happen, but they won’t will they?

Listen. Absolutely NOTHING to do with the SNP, Holyrood itself is legally forbidden to engage in any act which might harm the union.
England is happy for us to blame the SNP for this, but it is the Holyrood controls england built in, that are the problem.
Think about that.
Much as we want it to be Scotland’s government, it isn’t a government at all, it is a lookalike, and severely hampered, by design.
That the SNP themselves don’t make this clear is tantamount to treachery.
The only legal body we have to rely on in this matter, are our MPs, and sadly, the failures of Holyrood have reflected on them and hence we have lost the significant majority we had.

As an administrative body, the SNP in Holyrood have overall, shown the way We want to be governed, but it is NOT allowed to actively get our freedom
from the Colonialist england.
After ten years plus of voting SNP, the best they can do is go to london and beg for our freedom.
That is simply not good enough.
The SnP should be telling us that it is not good enough but they don’t.
That should worry you.
That our MPs are barely mentioned, should concern you too. They ARE our government, locked into another place, because they are prepared to put up with what is thrown at them in that place, BECAUSE THAT’S WHERE THEIR MONEY COMES FROM.
We in Scotland must start to pay them. They must withdraw from wetmiser. And then the ball will have started rolling.

I am a firm believer in DIRECT DEMOCRACY where the people TELL the politicians what they want done and when they don’t the PEOPLE SACK them , Swinney , Useless and Sturgeon are even worse for Scotland than WM and we still cannot get rid of them because their LIES and CORRUPTION are being covered up so what hope do you have that they will listen to anything we say
