Whether we like it or not, fascism is a political ideology. It’s one we rightly despise, an ideology built on division, hatred, authoritarianism, and violence. But it is, at its core, a political view. And when the state uses the legal system to go after political views, even fascist ones, we set a dangerous precedent that can be turned against any of us.
The legal system is not neutral. It is controlled and operated by the state. And when that system is weaponised to crush an ideology rather than confronting and defeating it politically we risk turning politics itself into fascism. If we allow the state to decide which political views can and can’t be expressed through court action, then all politics becomes state-controlled. That’s the very definition of authoritarianism.
And worse, this approach backfires. To the wider public, particularly those already sceptical of the establishment, fascists prosecuted in court don’t look like the villains, they look like victims of “big government.” They’re portrayed as truth tellers silenced by the powerful. They become martyrs to those already disillusioned, and in doing so, their poisonous message spreads even further.
The only way to truly defeat fascism is on the political battlefield. We must dismantle the very tools they use to gain support, division, hatred, greed, and above all else, poverty.
Poverty breeds desperation. And in desperation, people are vulnerable. They become easy targets for fascists offering scapegoats. Immigrants, minorities, the unemployed, it’s always someone else to blame. But the real cause of that poverty isn’t the powerless, it’s the powerful. It’s the political elite, left and right, who play games with people’s lives while hoarding wealth and power.
Fascists didn’t create poverty, the system did and the elites benefit from the chaos fascism creates because it keeps us divided. Working people fighting each other is a gift to those who sit at the top untouched, unaccountable, and unchallenged.
To truly destroy fascism, the people must reclaim the power that’s been stolen from them. We must rewrite the rules of politics, expose the sham of the current system, and tear power away from the elite class who thrive on our division.
This means building a new political culture, one rooted in equality, unity, and justice., one that refuses to be distracted by false enemies, one that lifts people out of poverty and despair so they can no longer be manipulated by hatred and fear.
We must pull the rug from under the elite vermin who set us against each other. The fight isn’t with our neighbours, it’s with the system that keeps us all down.
Only then can we truly defeat fascism, not in a courtroom, but in a revolution of the people.
Throughout history whenever people en masse have felt a sense of hopelessness they have looked for the sorcerer’s solutions to the myriad of problems and difficulties they face. This is not a fault, it is simply part of the human condition. The helpless look for salvation … wherever they think they can find it. Cue the snake oil salesmen appearing with their magical potions that will fix all ills and ailments.
In Scotland, John Swinney has proposed a gathering of the great and the good in Scottish society on “decency, democracy and respect” now scheduled for the next few weeks “to set out who we are and what we believe in” (see https://www.gov.scot/publications/a-new-initiative-to-bring-scotland-together-first-ministers-speech-26-february-2025/).
This is a fundamentally flawed approach.
Firstly, the horse has already bolted: All recent opinion polling points to Nigel Farage and his motley crew in Reform gaining political representation in Scotland’s parliament at next year’s Holyrood election.
Secondly, any attempt to obstruct the “extreme far right” from political and civic debate will simply antagonise those who have been bewitched by would be pied pipers. It will be viewed as blocking the will of some of the people who wish to disrupt the complacent occupants of Holyrood chamber’s and shake them into addressing the issues that have brought them such unhappiness. Worse it looks like a condescending effort to secure the comforts of the elite and the expense of the ‘poor and ignorant’.
Thirdly’ whilst there will be a time “to set out who we are and what we believe in”, that time is not now. The moment for that will occur when we are constructing a constitution that lays down the priorities, values and self-evident truths held by those in and from a free and independent Scotland. The very thing that John Swinney and the Scottish Government should have been working towards over the last 10 years as per article 2a of the SNP’s charter but appear to have abandoned whilst settling for the cosiness of devolution and administering the Scottish colony on behalf of Westminster.
Fourthly only with the restoration of Scotland’s full self-government and independent statehood can an actual and lasting remedy be applied. That is, only when our people are the priority, when their views are held in the highest esteem and not in the lowest of contempt, when they have genuine dignity and decency as of right in Scottish society and when real democracy rules such that political and civic leaders are answerable to the people will there be true cohesion in the fabric of our society.
The solution is prevention rather than cure.
I think we need to see who actually runs the shit-show, there are hidden hands at work, all we see are frontmen who are financed from the shadows. Isn’t it always the banks that are too big to fail and are always bailed out? The central banks who finance wars on both sides, including WWII. The Colour revolutions aren’t confined to abroad, the same techniques are used domestically Tommy Robinson aka Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon, Andrew McMaster, Paul Harris, Wayne King, and Stephen Lennon is a very shady character with links to Israel and MOSSAD.
Enoch Powell’s Rivers of Blood have never been so close to fruition, and Robinson is the spearhead. The hatred and panic is obvious via social media, (meja as Roddy calls it) which is ideal for spreading panic and hate, everyone is wired, waiting for some trigger. Remember that Hitler was also jailed, he wrote Mein Kampf then went on to, well you know the story we were told by Lawrence Olivier…
History is written by Hollywood, who knows what is real and who is actually being persecuted? We’re all gripped by the drama, those of us that pay attention. But, since COVID and October 7th who has faith in our institutions or the mainstream? How do we know what is real? I know one thing, they lie.
My honest view is this will not end until people take to the streets en masse, but the worry is, will they be pointed in the right direction? How successful will the like of Tommy Robinson be?
The original plan was to weaken Russia and that appears to have backfired spectacularly, now that the malicious forces can’t spread outwards into the East, they scramble to consolidate as the peoples of the West all begin to reject the narrative and those articulating it, they cannot silence alternative voices in the age of the world wide web so they use lawfare to smear and jail, as they did to Salmond, I don’t see this as an isolated case, what we’re experiencing is common throughout Europe now, Sturgeon is a tiny part of something much, much bigger, and they don’t want the people of any Western country running their own affairs.
They assassinate people then blame others, that is what we are dealing with. We are nothing, we aren’t even the pieces on the board until they require us to die.
