Through A Scottish Prism 11/04/23 Multipolarity

FROM 3PM TUESDAY 11/04/23

We are all striving to have Scotland as a sovereign independent nation. What we perhaps do not pay attention to is the world we are going to enter when that time comes. For 309 years now all economic policy, foreign alliances, wars, trading arrangements have been taken on our behalf and always for the benefit of the English nation. The majority of decisions taken have been to our detriment. Nothing highlighted it more than when we were taken out of the EU against our express wishes! Since 1707 not one economic, foreign policy or defence policy decision in all that time has ever been taken with Scotland in mind.

There will be so much to take care of when we finally throw off the shackles from our parasitic racist, war mongering neighbour. Poverty of our people is the biggest and most immediate task we have to undertake. Today the Alba Party is running with the slogan,    fuel poverty in energy rich Scotland. We will need to use our energy bounty to end the scourge of Scottish poverty once and for all time. Our Norwegian neighbours have shown us the way to do that.

Our education and healthcare both need massive investment and attention. Our nation has been starved of proper funding for infrastructure projects. Our roads, rail, ports and airports need massive upgrading too.

All of these things and more will need to be addressed by the first Scottish Government. Every bit as important will be our defence and foreign policy decisions. These too have been taken on our behalf by our belligerent neighbour. The Anglo-American worldview is not compatible with a Scottish sense of fairness or relations with our neighbours and other countries.

I hope we decide on a defensive military strategy, not an offensive one as the UK. No more foreign wars at the behest of England to advance the foreign policy of another nation. I pray that we, like our Irish cousins opt for neutrality in our written constitution. No more do I want to see our young men and women dying to advance the causes of the 1%.

I hope we have an ethical foreign policy and never do business with any nation that uses apartheid or threats of military force against its own or other nations. I hope we never fund nazi regimes to advance the policies of another nation.

When Scotland finally becomes independent, what kind of world will it be entering? Well from 1991 till quite recently we would be entering a US unipolar neoliberal, neocon world. A world that had the US $ as the only reserve currency of note. The € is a reserve currency that the US tolerated as long as it never threatened the $. All energy purchases until recently were conducted in US currency. In effect this have given the US total dominance over most global trading and most of the worlds finances.

If any country that did anything the US did not like or perceived as a threat to US interests it resulted in retribution either by military or financial blackmail. Those days are ending.

When the Soviet Union collapsed, we were left with just ying, there was no yang! The US were left unchecked. It has to be said, the US has spent the last 30 years abusing its power and a large chunk of the peoples of the world. When Libya threatened to sell its oil in € it was bombed back to the middle ages and its leader Gadaffi assassinated in the street. A similar fate befell Sadam Hussein for wishing to move away from US dominance and control.

Despite promises made in 1991 to Gorbachev not to advance NATO eastwards towards Russia that is exactly what the US did. Nobody before now could stop the US, however, the world has changed.

Although many still try to deny it, the entire Ukraine war today is a US proxy war. It was planned agitated and caused by the US. That in itself would take several articles to explain.

However, it may just be the biggest mistake ever made by the US. The world has grown tired of being bullied and financially robbed by the US and the global capitalists of the WEF. More and more nations throughout the world are forming into trading blocs. They are distancing themselves from reliance or the influence of the US and its dollar.

The biggest threat to US hegemony is BRICS. This is a trading bloc consisting of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. Soon to be joined by 12 other nations from every continent in the world except North America, Europe and Australasia. Among the new countries are Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iran, Venezuela, Argentina, Indonesia, Malaysia, Morocco, Algeria, Syria. Other nations like Mexico, Thailand and the entire African continent are seriously exploring joining too.

Many of these countries have smaller regional blocs, using local currencies to trade, not the once mighty US $. Brazil and China have already dropped the dollar and trade in Reals and Yuans. Saudi is trading in Yuans and Rubles with oil, so too is UAE.

What all this means is the pendulum is swinging away from $ dependency and US/Western influence and dominance. Sooner or later the EU and US are going to have to reach accommodations with these new trading blocs or partake in multiple wars on every continent on the planet. That is just not feasible.

The world is changing every day. You are actually living through a historical time. Today I am joined by Phil Boswell an ex-SNP MP and Oil and Gas expert. John Moran ex-Foreign Desk Editor of the Irish Press and we discuss the new developing multipolar world. We ask the how the why, and who wins and who loses in this new world order. What can Scotland expect? We try to answer a few of those questions.

  • Brilliant again from Prism, So so informative and interesting. John and Phil fantastic in-depth knowledge.

  • QAULITY INSIGHTFUL ONLINE DISCUSSION! THE PRISM ONCE MORE TO THE FORE!! An interesting construct of what is happening in the real world of dirty politics. Phil’s extensive knowledge and insight of Global Corporate infrastructure and the emergence of BRICS. John Moran on Ukraine, oh that RTE the Irish National Broadcaster would inform their listeners with the facts as he presents them. The execrable anti Russian pro Ukraine propaganda pumped out by radio journalists on a daily basis in RTE is enough tae gie ye the dry boak from noo till Fair Friday!

This format is a welcome extension of The Prism and hopefully will be a regular feature.
