The Covid19 Virus has once more exposed the huge differences between Scotland and England. At the beginning of this crisis, the imperial power in London decided it wanted to completely control the message to England and the Scottish and Welsh colonies. Their exceptionalism and arrogance decided that it would isolate the Celts and let Anglo-British superiority shine through. Local newscasts in the Celtic colonies were cancelled. All news was to be directed by London. As we all now know this has backfired spectacularly. (A word of caution to our House-Jock news staff in Pacific Quay. It might not just be Holyrood that is stripped of its existing functions.)
Johnson’s absence meant that successive no-marks were paraded in front of the media in London to give the daily updates. Even with scripts and screeds of lies, these cretins couldn’t even read their prepared nonsense from the tele-promoters and collapsed at the first simple question. The London media quickly became frustrated at this amateurish staged nonsense.
Then their fatal mistake, someone decided, probably to fill in empty minutes to include The First Minister from the colony of Scotland. The media in England and its political parties have for years been fed the propaganda about Ms Sturgeon, Alex Salmond and the SNP cybernat cult. There have seen set piece interviews over the years where ignoramuses like Neil, Paxton, Marr aggressively interview and badger without allowing the First Ministers to answer before deploying another Unionist type smear question. ‘what currency will you use?’ Before receiving an answer, they would ask another question. ‘You will have to use the € when you join the EU.’Quickly followed by,’ Spain will veto your application to join the EU queue!’
We have all had similar stupidity on social media. The so-called Media Professionals are no different than the Yoons we encounter every day. They only have pre-conceived ideas and talking points. There is no debate wanted or able as they literally do not want to hear or accept reality.
Much of this is a result of indifference in England to Scotland or the Scottish political scene. The people of England have for centuries been ruled by an Elite that believe they truly are some kind of chosen people. They think that they are superior in every aspect of life. Their Parliament, law, literature, monarchy, sport, drama, housebuilding, road building, even their world view they truly believe to be unsurpassed by any other nation or race. The one slight exception is USA that they believe to be almost English just somewhat uncouth Anglos. They pretend to themselves that Americans love England like no other nation on the planet. They wrap themselves in this ‘special relationship’ nonsense a relic of the 1941-1945 war. The propagandists used it as a way of bolstering morale to let the people of UK get comfort that they no longer ‘stood alone against the Nazis and Japanese. This standing alone was yet another myth that has stood the test of time. At the outbreak of war in 1939, the UK had half the world in its Empire, and they too were mobilised to save Mother England.
Therefore when the nations television viewers were shown Nicola Sturgeon giving her daily Coronavirus update they expected a Downing Street type farce, only worse. This disinterest in Scotland and all things Scottish has meant that England’s political parties and media have been dependent on House-Jocks for their information and ‘facts’ on Scotland and its politics. The present list of those giving vital information is cretins like Ian Murray, Richard Lennon, Willie Rennie, Jackson Carlaw, Ruth Davidson. Their warped and twisted views are what the Anglos think is Scotland. Who can forget Davidson and her ‘80% of Scots are burdens on the UK state’ or that Scots were not invited to social gatherings because they are thieves. Ian Murray advising Lisa Nandy that the best solution for Scotland was to send in fascist paramilitaries to club Scots if they dared hold a secession referendum ever again. In his time Anas Sarwar stood up in Westminster chamber and told the world Scotland lived in a one Party despotic state. Who can ever forget Ian Davidson a Labour MP when an SNP MP mentioned Scotland during a debate said ‘Scotland, who cares?’ This, of course, raised lots of laughter from the near 600 English MPs. No doubt Mr Davidson felt very please with himself and his demeaning of his own nation. We felt even more pleased when we ousted him out of his seat in 2015.
All of this has over the years been supplemented by London propaganda that Scots are shiftless alcoholics and drug addicts that only survive by English largesse.
Therefore, when Nicola began her update not much was expected by the Anglo media or public. We, of course, knew better, and it didn’t take long before the cynical Anglos began to appreciate what we Scots have done for years now. The Scottish leader, unlike her English counterparts, has command of her brief. She is articulate, intelligent, truthful and coherent. She does not dodge questions, instead she faces them head on. She speaks for all sections and parts of her nation. She is not trying to make political capital out of this crisis. When she speaks, she has no need to fear the aftermath of recriminations that will follow the ending of this pandemic. She has told no lies, indeed Scotland is the only part of this union that includes Care Homes in the daily totals of fatalities. She charmed and impressed not only the media but the audience throughout the Union. When Nicola told everyone she had even sought advice from the leader of the free world, Angela Merkel you could almost hear the gnashing of teeth throughout the Brexiteer world of Little England. Anglo-British arrogance and exceptionalism could not tolerate asking any Johnny Foreigner for advice no matter the overwhelming evidence suggesting they should. Two World wars and one Football World Cup just prove why they could never ask a German Chancellor anything!
While our First Minister has impressed the world, our British Nationalist politicians and media have been making complete fools of themselves and exposing their narrowminded parochialism daily.
When our First Minister was talking about post Covid19 and steps to end lockdown this was the response from the Scottish Meeja!
Nicola Sturgeon: I want to have an adult grown-up conversation with the people.
Daily Record:
“Are you cancelling Christmas, First Minister? ”
The Branch Managers of the British Parties in Scotland are always suggesting the FM shelves all talk of independence. She may have, for the duration of the pandemic. Fortunately the movement have kept working any way we can in this lockdown. This, of course, did not stop the House-Jocks and their media chums from talking solely constitutional politics. Their stories ranged from Coronavirus has ended all hope of independence to SNP have a dastardly plan to seize independence as mother England valiantly fights this horrid virus. Truly pathetic and ineffective, however nothing is ever too petty for our House-Jocks.
It is too late now to halt independence, that time past long ago. The entire UK needed drastic reform from top to bottom decades ago. Not just the governance at Westminster, the position of the monarchy relative to our unwritten constitution. The corruption and disgrace that is labelled ‘The Honours System’. We have an undemocratic, antiquated voting system. This pandemic has only highlighted the weakness of our economic model. The wealth gap has grown over the neocon days. Hopefully post-Covid19 it can be reformed in a manner that would be suitable to the majority, not the minority elite!
This Coronavirus has only heightened the differences between Scotland and England. It has not in any way revived the ‘Blitz Myth’ and brought everyone together to fight a common foe. It has sadly, highlighted that England and the UK is run by charlatans and crooks. They place the economy, wealth and the elite over the common weal. We in Scotland always put Common Weal as our priority, that is what divides us. Perhaps over the decades and ages, if England had paid a bit more attention and had not depended on House-Jock Scots that were only interested in self-aggrandisement this certainty of secession would not exist.
It is no coincidence that in this British Union it is only England that does not have a movement for self-determination. England does very well out of its relationship with the Celts. They give and England takes. That is the reality, the propaganda might say differently. If Scotland is such a financial burden on the English tax payers, why are the English politicians not encouraging Scottish secession from the union? If anyone can get an answer to that I would love to hear it.
Meantime, take pride in our First Minister as she schools our Anglo neighbours on the art of political leadership. We can but hope in future the Anglo-British will show a little more respect to our First Minister and our democratic picks.
That is all in the future, today we have more important matters, staying healthy. May you and yours be safe, always remember it is darkest before dawn.
The daylight will come, the virus will be defeated and Scotland will be independent. These two statements are 100% accurate the only unknown is when and how!

Welcome back to the Nicola Sturgeon Fan Club Barrhead Bhoy!
It is not a question of being in or out of a fanclub Tom. Unlike so many I see good and bad, rights and wrongs. As I state in this blog she has been magnificent especially in comparison to the political pygmies in the British Unionist Parties. It will not stop me now or in the future from pointing out errors or criticising what I believe to be appalling judgements or tactics. You prefer to accept everything you are told and refuse to tolerate any other opinion other than your own.You seem to think Nicola and the Party to be infallible, I do not,and they are not. I put my nation’s independence before all other matters be that individuals, Political Parties or feelings.
Nicola Sturgeon is an excellent FM. I admire this person. Despite this and myself I have to conclude that the has SNP has been allowed to drift and that the FM has shirked responsibility for winning Independence. I suspect being surrounded by advisors and civil servants that answer to bosses outside of Scotland has left her isolated. I believe that the SNP has been infiltrated by people with no interest in independence who have worked themselves into many of the paid posts within the party. I do not know who or what is behind that but I do know that it has happened under Nicola Sturgeon’s watch.
In 2015/16 after the GE and EU votes we needed to get everyone together, create forum and thrash out a manifesto for an independent Scotland. The Indy movement could have fought for Independence and the FM could have got on with her job. Instead we waited for years for Andrew Wilson to report back to us. While there is no doubt in my mind that his report was criticised by pro indy groups motivated by their own self interest the report has to be seen as no more than a long grass exercise. Whether it was intended to be that or not. It advanced nothing and brought right back to where we were in 2015/2016.
The Alec Salmond affair will bring it to a head. I do not think that Nicola Sturgeon is behind the framing of AS. I sincerely hope that she isn’t implicated in any way but we will find out. The SNP need a clear out. There are MP’s and MSP’s and people working for the party that should not be there.
Well said. Thought the whole thing sounded like a nationalist propaganda statement. One sided would be an understatement.
I thought it was a good article. I was responding to the first comment. if you look back a couple of articles you’ll see Barheid boy giving the SNP leadership it tight for its failures in advancing Scotland’s cause. Just giving praise where it is due.
A really good analysis Thank you…
I love the acceptance that Independence will come….no question except ‘when’ not ‘if’
and your statement….‘the darkest hour is just before dawn’….🎶Mammas and Pappas if my memory serves me well ❤️
…and their are people who have been kicked out of the party who should still be SNP members.
Richard Lennon? Is he another Labour non-entity?
